WHOO HOOO PYREX!

It seems like a long time since I have found some Pyrex thrifting.

I stopped into Goodwill the other day and what did I find??? PYREX!

My heart actually skipped a beat when I saw this
1-1/2 Qt casserole in the Verde pattern!
Cost under $4

So I stopped by this other little thrift where I 'sometimes' find stuff and sitting in amongst the junk was
A white 401 mixing bowl I believe the all white is called Opal
Cost $1
(lighting was poor on this photo, sorry)

I also found some other cute things last week
 A sunflower teabag/teaspoon holder

Cheese dome and wooden plate
Should I paint the wood white and shabby it up some??
Last Monday I went junkin with some Bloggy friends and we met at The Classy Flea where I found these two items on sale
I love the aluminum and in bright green!!

I am linking up with Debbiedoo's
Visit Debbie to see what others have found on their thrifty adventures this week!

I have been experimenting with staging my photos and trying to get better shots for my Etsy shop.  I would love any 'feedback' on what you think of these practice shots.

Always,
Linda

Fun finds Linda! LOVE the aluminum green items! Girl, I so wish you were here with me! Princess and I hit a big outdoor flea market, a huge church garage sale a storage unit garage sale and about 8 other garage sales. And most of them were pricing to sell and get rid of their things! And most of the garage sales seem to have some awesome FREE tables of stuff. We had a blast yesterday and today! The princess got a great jump start on her winter wardrobe too!

I remember that brightly-coloured aluminum. My favorite piece was a fuchsia tumbler - so nice and cold to hold on a hot summer day.

Hi Linda,
One of the girls in our shop sells lots of pyrex. She had several pink pieces! Of course, they sold really fast. I like yours too. Great find at a great price.
Love your other finds too.
I think you do a nice job taking photos.

Good evening Linda,

I recognize the green ones. And I had those pyrex bowls years ago. I can't believe it.

And I love the sunflower glass.

Great finds.

I've never really looked for that aluminum from the 60s but that bright green just shouts, "Linda!" I have been trying to remember who is a big pyrex fan and now I remember. I've seen quite a bit of it lately at some of my thrifty haunts. Is there one piece in particular you're looking for? If I spotted it would you want it or is the hunt that you love?

Oh, Linda! I just love reading and looking at your blog! LOVE Pyrex, too....AND the aluminum drinking glass! OH, my mom had an entire set when I was young...about 6 colors of tumblers and small bowls in matching colors, and a LARGE red bowl, which was always used for popcorn, and nothing else! Thanks for the memories!! :)

P.S. If it were mine, I'd leave the cheese plate and dome the way it is, even though I really like shabby-chic-white things!

The staging is going very well! I prefer staged photos to those un-. It's like staging a house before you sell it. Nice job!!

Hi Linda...I'm your newest follower. I don't blog, but discovered blogs a few months ago and have become hooked (aka: addicted) to reading the great decorating tips, viewing all the treasures that are found and seeing all the creative things that can be done with these treasures. I don't have a creative bone in my body, so I'm getting some great ideas from others. I think I saw that same cheese plate and same Pyrex dish either at the D'ville or Hiram GW store?? Could it be the same? Can't wait to read more of your blog.
Thanks for sharing...

I hate to say it but I NEVER liked Pyrex! Sad, isn't it? I do like the aluminum tray and pitcher, though!

Pyrex envy! They just don't make things cool like that anymore. And the green aluminum brings back memories when my father made a glass holder utilizing wooden dowel rods for each aluminum drinking glass to be stored upside down on. We each had our own colored glass and were not allowed to use anyone elses. The only thing I didn't like about those aluminum glasses was that it hurt when they touch my teeth. Funny how things come back to the mind. Thanks for sharing! ~Ames
