Not long ago in one of my walks through a favorite thrift I found this set of dishes! Now I don't need more dishes but I fell in love with the pattern and colors. Vernon Ware by Metlox of California.
The pattern is called Vineyard
It was Senior Discount Day so I could not resist
They are not traditional fall colors but bring hints of the season
I started with a soft green lacy tablecloth
I then added tan place mats, fall napkins with a leaf design another thrift store find
Napkin rings are from Pier 1 ~ 4 leaf shapes I found them new at the thrift all four for $1
I also used the bronze handled silverware that I have used many times before, such a warm color
I layered the plates as follows
Vineyard dinner plate, soft green salad plate, Vineyard desert plate
A cute dollar tree pumpkin on top
These wine glasses were a recent find at the Goodwill
Four glasses for $1.90
Cup and saucer for tea or coffee
For a centerpiece I found a candle in the tan color
I put it on a matching Vineyard plate on a pedestal
surrounded by leaves
I scattered some fall leaves and glass pieces for sparkle
added some small brown tea lights
These little birds flew in to provide salt & pepper
I was late getting this table done and used a flash
It really does wash out some of the colors
Of course there is always candlelight
I am joining in a couple of fun parties
Suzanne at Colorado Lady
And
Susan at Between Naps on the Porch
Always,
Linda

The epitome of autumnal, Linda! Lovely!

Very pretty indeed. I have a weakness for flatware too. Yours is beautiful. All your table needs is a steaming apple pie and "smellovision" to be a little bitta heaven.
So pretty....one of these days I'm going to be sitting at your lovely table.

gail

I love it when people find wonderful things at a thrift store and then put them together to make a beautiful tablescape.
To me, the great discovery is half the fun!
You did a wonderful job both on discovery AND the table!
You are certainly a talented thrifter, to find such lovely things and combine them into such an appealing tablescape! I love the warm tones you added to the table, especially the flatware and the glasses. Those napkins and napkin rings are perfect, too!
A very pretty table and I am sure I would not have been able to resist those dishes either!
Blessings!

Now - did I read the word 'need' right up there with the word 'dishes'? Of course you needed these!
Beautiful tablescape, your dishes are lovely. I love your salt and pepper shakers.
I love your table! The dishes are just so lovely and all of your little fallen touches are just perfect!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Linda, I love your dishes. What a find! I had a pattern called Gigi by Vernon Kilns that reminds me of the one you found, and let me assure you, those patterns were high end everyday ware. If you got those at bargain prices, then you truly found a bargain! :-)
Checking in from my break to see what you've been up to over here, and it looks like you've been having some fall fun! I hope to be blogging again in a week or so. That's the plan. I'm so behind because the recuperation took longer than I anticipated. But Mr. Magpie is on the mend! YEA!
Warm hugs...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Good Morning Linda Sweetie...
Oh how beautiful this table setting is. I love the dinnerware. Traditional colors or not, it is Fall and I LOVE these plates. I have never seen any quite like this. I am right there with you, needed or not? They would have gone into my basket as well. So pretty.
I love the scattering of the leaves about the table setting, and that silverware is exquisite. I have never seen any colored like that. Beautiful for the holiday season just about on us.
Many thanks sweetie for the beautiful share today. I would be so thrilled to dine at this table. Many hugs and much love, Sherry
The Metlox Ivy pattern is highly desirable...great get! I love the softer approach to autumn that you have achieved with your tablescape. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
