SUNBONNET SUE FOR CICI

As many of you know a dear Blogging friend recently passed away.
CiCi of Lace 'n' Ribbon Roses.  Suzanne at Colorado Lady has dedicated today's Vintage Thingie Thursday to this dear lady who was a lover of all things Sunbonnet Sue.  I am sharing two items I have from my Mom who is a quilter.  I am dedicating them to Sweet Cici's memory!  What a fine, gentle and sweet lady.
My prayers are with her family!

This little gal is on a tea towel.  I think the pink dress and bonnet are so cute and the embroidery flowers are an extra touch!

This is a cute quilted bonnet potholder
Lots of sweet details
I want to leave you with this image from Cici's blog
This was her favorite Sunbonnet Sue pattern

Be sure to visit Suzanne
She is having a giveaway of this quilt in memory of CiCi
Happy Memories to all!

Linda

This was a lovely tribute to CC. I had just read about her passing on the last blog I visited and was shocked. I won't look at another Sunbonnet Sue without thinking of her.

I thanked Beverly at How Sweet the Sound for letting us know about CC's passing. I had visited her blog several times but never took the time to follow her. To pay my tribute to her, I became a follower. I wrote to the family that I was sad to have done it too late, but at least they would know how I felt about this sweet lady. Thanks for your kind thoughts this Rednesday, and about my first shoplifter. All the comments made a sad day brighter. Thanks.

I am fairly new to blogging so I had not met Cici but from what I have read on several blogs she was a sweet lady who will be missed. I love your sunbonnet sue items. My grandmother made some of them years ago but I don't happen to have any of them.

Dear Linda,
I am so sorry about the loss of your friend CiCi. I visited her site a little while ago and just read through some of her posts. She was such an avid sewer/quilter, and she did such lovely work.

I love Sun Bonnet Sues and years ago made a whole mess of them to fill our small Christmas tree up. They were the only decorations on the tree besides the lights and it looked just adorable. The quilt of Sun Bonnet Sues is just beautiful.

Hugs to you,
Susan
