LEAVING SUMMER IS HARD!

I am having trouble leaving summer this year.  Perhaps because it is still 90+ degrees outside or just that I'm not ready for all the Holiday rush!   I set a table in my breakfast nook to celebrate the last of summer.

This table was inspired by these cute fish glasses bought at the World's Longest Yard Sale.  I had to show them off before they went to the cupboard for the winter.
The Pink Fiesta Dishes I found at a resale shop for cheap were perfect for this table
I used a white placemat ($1 ea at the dollar store)
Pink Fiesta Plate and a Turquoise berry bowl also Fiesta
The little fish butter knives were a fun touch
My summer blooms are gone...but I found a few Pink stragglers
to add to this vase with a pathos vine
I like how some are almost dried..adds some texture
This milk glass pitcher is perfect for morning juice
 Nice large Fiesta coffee mugs
The white handled silverware was a recent Goodwill find
Milk glass creamer and sugar
Yes Summer is over and time to move on, but one more cup of coffee please!

I am joining in these fun parties!!

Beautiful! Love those vintage glasses. I have always wanted to do the "Longest Garage Sale". I'm afraid I'd have to rent a uHaul though! :)~Ames

What a pretty breakfast table...love those fish glasses...perfect with the Fiestaware.
The only flower I could find blooming in my yard was sedum, everything else dried up!

I remember back in the sixties my parents built a home and the kitchen was pink and turquoise just like your dishes. They even painted the fridge turquiose! I have a milk glass pitcher just like the one you have that we inherited from my mother-in-law. I love old things.

Hi Linda,
I'm glad that you are holding onto the last bit of summer and your lovely table setting brings the sunshine! Love the fiesta dishes!

It won't be long until we are all planning our Christmas decor and showing it off. You know how we are here in blogland...always ready for a party!

Linda, what a lovely table setting this is. I LOVE it!!! Of course, you know I'm drooling over the pink plates, but I'm loving the aqua as well. What a fabulous color combination!! And I LOVE the milk glass.

And, of course, you know I'm having a hard time letting summer go as well. In fact, I'm hanging on tightly by refusing to decorate for fall until at least mid-October.

Hope you're having a lovely day.

Hugs,
Patti

I am soooo ready to leave summer. We can trade houses if you want so you can have the heat for another month or so!

I am NOT ready to say adios to summer just yet! While fall is pleasant, summertime is free and easy and just right for flipflops. I dread trying to cram my hippie toes back into shoes! Your summer table setting is so cheerful!

Hi Linda! Love the table setting..the color combinations, etc! So pretty! We're still having very summery temperatures here, too. It was 90 degrees yesterday, (the 20th), and today was really hot, too. I didn't hear what the high was. I am SO ready for fall and cooler temps, as I've been saying for quite a while already!!

Thank you so much for voting for my photo! I have those same pink dishes at my lake house, I got one each of eight different colors then I painted each chair the same color as my plates. I love Fiesta wear and it has always been a favorite to me! I am so glad that it is almost fall, eventhough it was 95 here today! I dream of snow and coats and fires in the fireplace.

I am so jealous that you did the longest yard sale! It is still 90 degrees here in Florida also, it is so hard to get into the fall mood! Thank you for stopping by

Wish we could keep summer around a bit longer too. The acorns are pileing up at the end of my driveway ..washed there from last nights rain.. Your table is so pretty that it certainly wouldn't hurt to have one more cup of coffee

Linda, I love this table! Those fishy glasses are wonderful, and the pink Fiesta, well frankly I'm jealous of your pink Fiesta!
I know what you mean about still holding on to summer. I'm loving the cooler temps, but I know what comes after the cooler weather. Icky, snowy sleety weather. Yuck!

It is sooo yucky hot today, those fish glasses took me back to the beach for a fleeting moment, I swear I could almost feel the ocean breeze:) So thank you, and how nice to think about cold juice in a pretty fiesta cup!
