Thrifty Things Friday #145

Diann and I are so glad to see you this week!

I haven't been in a thrift shop in weeks and thought today would be a chance to visit a couple of my favorite thrift shops near my Mom's house.
I had a blast just looking!
This mug would go with my collection for sure
A 4 place setting of Harvest Grape Milk Glass...oh be still my heart
A vintage Ironstone creamer
I've been thinking about getting one of these butter crocks to see if I like it...
they keep butter at a spreadable temp
What??? Eiffel Tower Shower Hooks!!
I love Pink and the pale pink vase is gorgeous, oh and look at that sweet little heart box!
I am always looking for fun coffee mugs!
We have lots of donut lovers in our family!
This is so cute and made me think of my friend Sue who loves to use Lobsters in her decor!
I still keep finding Paris items don't I!!
What a cute night lite...would Tiger like this?
How about this adorable Space frame!
ANOTHER Paris item
This cat & dog print reframed would be so cute
Who could resist a Twinkies cookbook!!

I had so much fun and I bought four of the items above.  Which four?  Leave a comment with your guesses.  I'll share with you in a few days what I bought and anyone who has guessed correctly 1-4 items will get their name in the pot for a prize!
Not sure what it will be, but something fun for sure!!

Now what thrifty things have you found???

Tiger's First Snow!

In the South when it snows, we come to a grinding halt!!  It snowed today in Atlanta and surrounding areas.  Due to the bad weather my flight home was cancelled so I'll be staying a few more days with Mom.  Yay!
The bad news?  I missed Tiger's first snow!
The good news, there are photos!
Tiger and Mommy

Tasting the snow!

It's a snowman
It will all be gone by the time I get home!

Thrifty Things Friday #144

I'm still in Texas, a big Howdy to all
Diann and I can't wait to see what you have to share with us this week!

I haven't been thrift shopping much lately, but when I come to Mom's house I can shop here for vintage items!  This time I raided the jewelry box!
A few earrings and some pins!
These will be going home with me this time.
More earrings, all clip or screw on.
I want to get some made into new earrings for myself.
Necklaces, the pink beads are so pretty!
From my Dad's tour in Japan in the 1950's
A small perfume bottle and a sweater clip.
This small jewelry box of my Dad's was still in a drawer.  Sometimes it's hard to look at his things and other times it brings me comfort.
I love the cufflinks.
Many of his things have already be shared with his Children and Grandchildren.
Interesting watch face.
One of my favorite pieces
His Marine Corp Naval Wings.

So be sure to go by Diann's
and link up your post there!

Wishing you JOY,

Thrifty Things Friday #143

I am visiting my Mom and so decided to share a post from Jan 2012~~Thanks!

I wanted a little change from the red and green of Christmas but still keep the winter theme
The soft blue and green of this snowman was perfect!
I started with these round placemats that I got on clearance at Kohl's for 79 cents each
These dinner plates were found for 50 cents each and they are made by Pfaltzgraff.  I had trouble finding the pattern but it was called Blue Snowflake several places.  The plate is a soft cream color with the blue snowflake and green border design.
I added a candlewick glass plate found at a thrift for $1 each, the blue depression glass bought from ebay (a set with lots of pieces) for a great price and cream handled flatware bought on clearance at Ross
I added a napkin that is leafy and somewhat springy but the colors are perfect
(napkins and napkin rings both found at thrift shops)
These pretty glasses were found at a Goodwill in Texas and the colors are a bright touch to the table
A simple centerpiece...Blue Ball jar with dried hydrangeas from my yard, snowman candle holder and a snowflake tealight
I centered each place setting with a snowflake tea light to add a little sparkle
I love the edges of this place setting
Thanks for joining me and please link up your thrifty posts HERE

Toddler Cam

What happen's when you give a toddler your camera?
Hi Grandma, can I take a picture with your camera?  Sure Tiger!
Showing him how....he was holding the camera
(as you can tell these were taken before Christmas)
Surprise, I didn't know he took this one!
Now I see him!
Apparently I was his favorite subject!
random bedroom shot
He was taking an 'X-Ray' of my hand...
he still had the cast on his broken arm and was playing Dr
You are all better Grandma
I must have learned my photo skills from Tiger!

I'm sharing this at
