I'M STARTING TO FALL...

I have been having such a hard time getting ready for Fall!  Maybe it's the days still in the 90's or that I'm just slow to put away summer.  I have finally pulled out a few decorations and I think with leaves falling from my trees I will finally start to decorate for Fall.
The first thing that usually yells FALL to me is
Mums!  I love the colors and abundance of them in the stores!
This is a first try at a vignette on my side table
I will probably take down the Halloween tray and add it back in October....it still needs something!
I found this green ruffle edge bowl for $1 and then added a bag of natural orbs and pinecones another $1 purchase
I really love this Scarecrow
Look at that smile!
Thrift shop candle and candle holder
One last look at the Mums!

I know, Linda...I don't feel "fall" yet, either. That slant to the sun, the smell in the air, a different feel in the weather, just hasn't arrived. It's still hot! But truthfully, here in Oklahoma, I only remember one Halloween when my kids needed a coat to trick or treat. Still, I forced myself to put stuff out recently just because I was ready for some kind of change and so my house looks ready for fall, whenever it finally gets here! Your vignette is a good start, very nice! I think I want to plant some mums now!

Linda , your mums are beautiful, Every time we try to grow mums in our garden the bottom of them looks so awful.

Linda I planted my pansies way too early....as my husband said there is a reason they are called pansies...lol. Love your fall decor...looking good.

Great scarecrow! Little by little I'm putting fall stuff out, too, Linda. Take care. Susan

Linda, your scarecrow has a cute face. Not sure he would scare anything. LOL
Like you, it's a bit difficult to think of fall when the temps are in the 90s. We're having a bit of rain this afternoon, so I hope it will stay through the week and bring cooler temps.
Happy Sunday! ~ Sarah

Cute vignette, Linda. I am ready for mums and pansies, but it is too hot for them in my front right now. Cool weather come on.

I haven't done much in the way of fall decorating, either...still real hot here, too. I know in a few months we will be whining about how cold it is!

I think seeing blogs with 4 seasons has really made it harder to get in the spirit when it's in the 90's sometime till Dec.
Love your vignette!
Enjoy your week,
KarenSue

I love the amber colored berry bowl! I have a clear one just like it. My mother used it to serve homemade cranberry sauce in at Thanksgiving. That's also a very nice candle holder too! Isn't it amazing the wonderful treasure you find in Thrift store? Have fun decorating for Fall!~Ames

Before you know it, we'll all be showered with autumn sights, scents and sounds.

Hi Linda,
I think if it were still in the 90's here, I'd have a hard time thinking fall too. But it's been chilly for the most part, and very chilly at night. Had a frost or two already, as well. And the leaves, they be turnin'!

Mums are wonderful, aren't they? And all those lovely fire-y colors for autumn time. I have to pick some up this week for the wedding.

I love your little tablescape for fall/Halloween. And the prices are right! :-)

I hope you do have a lovely fall.

Hugs,
Susan

Hi Linda!

Well, we have finally got the weather going for Fall around here. It has been in the high 60's low 70's. But, I haven't started decorating yet. I just need to get some other things dealt with first. So, you are ahead of me in showing some pretty Fall/Halloween decor!

oh my goodness, i need that candle stick with the acorns and that sweet little hedgehog! soo adorable!

lol, you are 100% right, the best decoration for a table is a cat. except when you are eating, then, not so much! does charlie get up on the table, too?

Hello Linda,

Your little scarecrow is cute. I looked at some at the thrift store this weekend, but I passed them up. If I bought one of them it would mean I was acknowledging fall and I just cannot do that yet!

I know exactly how you feel. It's so hot around here it doesn't feel like fall yet. I've got to get my decorations up also.

It is hard to let go of summer! I do like fall but like you said, when it's still so hot it just doesn't seem like it's here yet. I was at a store last night and right in the middle of the halloween aisle was a stack of Christmas popcorn tins! Yikes!

I had a chance to catch up on some past posts, enjoyed reading about Charlie's papers from the vet! Very cute!
