I have had to make some hard decisions about my collections!
I have collected Waechtersbach mugs for several years! During this move I decided to edit out a few I just don't love....hard to do but!
I did get rid of 4 mugs! The sailboat was given to a friend and the others were donated.
I also collect pottery planters
Over 15 years of collecting. I decided to edit out a few that again, 'I Don't Love'.
These were all donated
Along with these three....no regrets yet!
I also thought about donating this set of snack plates and coffee cups
Blue Ridge Pottery
I love the blue with the grey fleck and decided to keep these. When my blogging ladies come to visit me in my new place, I think I'll use them!
It is hard to edit down our collections, but over the years some you love more then others and it's great to lighten up and keep the one's that are truly special to you.

What I used to tell myself: they are just "things", it is people you love and who love you back that really and truly matters. And at a 'certain' age (50 + I would say), it is really about what you need, not what you want (or in my case, covet!). I was doing so well til I started blogging, and seeing things, and then I started to miss things, not good. So now 5 years later, I am de-cluttering once again, NO WHERE NEAR the last time, but still! xo
You are doing what I started long ago, and have not finished. Not a fun job for sure.
Hope you have enjoyed your wekend
It is extremely hard! But getting rid of just a few may be all you need to do. We keep adding more shelves here in this house! We've found some inexpensive bookcases and shelves at Target if you need them at your new house! Sweet hugs Sis!
Really hard for me to edit my collections. I did some of that when we moved to this house. I still use many of what I have, so that makes it more difficult. I think it was smart to keep the Blue Ridge Pottery pieces. xo Nellie
Oh Linda, that's tough to do! I'm going to be doing that in the near future. As hard as it is, it's also very liberating. P.S. I'll be following you via Feedly reader.
I admire your editing.
Great to have you at Seasonal Sundays!

I sooooooooooo need to purge! I think it would feel good to not have so much stuff! Maybe someday soon. :) Happy move!
It looks like you are doing a great job of letting go and donating! Good for you!
Warmly,
deb
Good for you, Linda. I have been away for a bit and must have missed a post as I didn't realise that you are moving. My goodness, but you have a lot on the go!
It is good to "thin the herd" occasionally.
Linda, when are you moving? I admire you for clearing out - I don't think I could ever do that.
Know you are busy. Take care.
Judy
Hi Linda...Good for you. You are continuing to edit. Wowsers. I'm impressed.
I tell you, it would be exceedingly hard for me to do what you are doing, but but but but but, I KNOW I have to do it.
Thanks for the inspiration! Susan
You're doing so good Linda! When you get to your new place you'll be surrounded by those items you really truly love :-)
Moving next week, you must be really busy! I'm sure it's really hard to get rid of your lovely things that you've collected ... but keep repeating after me: Tiger, Tiger, closer to Tiger ;)

Oh, my! Decision, decisions! I would have a bit of trouble editing too! Now I was saying 'don't do it!' when I saw those darling snack plates and cups and was thrilled to hear you kept them! :)
I know you're so excited to get into your new place! Thanks for popping in to see me. I know you know how excited I am to get to see my little Carter! Hug little Tiger.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Oh Linda you are making great decisions and I know you are going to be happy! sandie
Looks like you're chipping away at it Linda! I know it's not easy:@)
I've edited my mug "collection" & SHOULD tackle my planters...
Your example is inspiring, Linda!
It is hard to edit collections but I'm trying to do that as well -- but you donated such beautiful things! Sigh! But I'm sure you feel better with your cabinets a little less full!
I don't envy you having to edit your collections. I've done it before but it is hard!!
Thanks so much for joining in this week!

Oh, am I supposed to be editing down, not adding to? I think you made good choices. Love the snack plates. I always see the clear glass ones around here. Those are very cute.
You're on a roll! Way to "delete".
I love pottery planters, too and collect white or off white ones.
You really are on a roll! I use a couple of the rectangle pottery planters in browns/aquas to hold handmade soaps, my sister makes and gives me, in my bathrooms. They hold 5-7 bars each.
It is hard to let go, but feels so good in the end! I did a major declutter in the sping and I still feel great when I see the results :-)
You are one amazing and crazy lady, Linda, to be doing all of this packing, sorting, etc: and still have time to blog. I am trying to work on the kitchen and don't seem to have time to blog. Kudos to you. Can't wait until you move and us blog gals can come and welcome you into your new home.
Ohhh Linda!!
How difficult to decide which to keep and which to sell. LOVE your Waechtersbach!! I have the heart ones. Also have most of the Christmas tree Waechtersbach from when we lived in Germany in the 80s. We don't use it and have said that I need to sell it - but enjoy it so much. Hope that you're able to sell what you do want to keep!! xoxo
It is often hard to decide what not to keep, well for me it would be....
I'm sure it's difficult paring down your collections. If you're like me though, the hardest part is letting go. I never miss anything I get rid of after it's gone. I'm sure you will enjoy not having so much to pack and store in the new house too...:) I've never heard of those cups before, but you have a really nice looking collection!
Blessings, Vicky

Gotta do what you gotta do! Happy summertime:)
I collect pottery planters, too. You have some really pretty ones. I know it must be hard paring down. Good luck and take care. Dawn
Oh man - purging is so hard to do!!
A mug collection - how cool! I've never come across those kinda ones!
I feel for you! My hubby and I are both saying good bye to things after almost 40 years of marriage. He is an exhibitor at the antique shows here in Portland, so that helps and I like doing my Etsy, so that helps me. It is all a lot of work!
Good for you Linda.
I know it's hard, but you should be proud of yourself for letting some of them go. We love it all, right?
I agree that it's hard to let go of some pieces in our collections. Today, I put two of my purses (I have a lot!) in a big donation bag that I have going in the basement. It's a start!
Linda,
I just know the difficulty in thinning down your lovely collections-you are doing a great job! I need to do the same-it will be painful, I am certain!
Glad you are doing well!
Happy HUgs-

Hi Linda!
Yeah, we've been doing a little editing this week as well. We're actually preparing for a big move and don't want to take more than one truck. It's good for us to pare down our collections though, sometimes. It makes us appreciate the kept pieces even more!
Hope you're having a great week so far!
Blessings,
Mrs. Sarah Coller
Linda, I miss you! But it's all my fault that I haven't stopped by in such a long time. And I didn't even know you were moving. Ms. Chatty told me. Next time I'm in Georgia, I will definitely make sure I visit both of you!! Hugs...
Editing one's possessions is really hard. I think especially so if you are a blogger. We need our props!
