JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #5

Who can believe it's December already?  I know we have all been busy but I hope you have still had time to hunt those fun thrifty bargains because it's Junkin Finds Friday #5!

I have found some great stuff, lots of which I can't share since they are Christmas gifts!  Yes I thrift gifts! My family and friends completely get it!  So here are a few things from a recent stop at the thrifts!
I found this awesome Pyrex Refrigerator dish.  The pattern is called Old Orchard.  It was $2.50 and is in really good condition.

Mr ALC and I love old timers and have a small collection.  On a recent thrifting adventure we found the red tomato timer for 50 cents and the old Sunbeam timer was $1
I love spoon rests and this one is so 80's
Love the mushroom design!  I think this will be going to my Etsy shop... Antiqgirl!

Of course we have to have some Christmas stuff!
I fell in love with the Santa doorstop!  I thought of my friend Becky Povich because Santa is holding a book.  Becky is a writer and collects characters reading books.  Becky if this didn't weigh a TON it would be on it's way to you.  Instead it will live here and I will think of you when I look at it!

This next find really made me happy
Oh yes a little Christmas deer!  He is tooooo cute!
Made of plastic I think he might have been a cake decoration!  He was 10 cents!  He has found a home in my cubbies so you will be seeing him again!

That's my finds for this week!

I hope you will join in the party!  You know the deal...link your post not your blog, link back to this post so others can join in and most important...show us your thrifty finds!

Happy Junkin,
Linda

Cute deer Linda! I went junkin' today, only came home with one white luncheon plate and matching cup. Not post worthy, but I'll show them with my next batch of cookies or something:@)

I bought a Santa doorstop this week too...I'll have to post about it next week. Love your finds! I made a spoon rest almost just like that back in the 70's when I was into ceramics. My neighbor growing up had two kilns in her basement and let me work on ceramics with her....good memories.

I am REALLY LOVIN that refrigerator dish!!! I WISH I was on your gift list and that was wrapped with my name on it, "OH WELL"! hehe...Last month I was at GW and there was a COMPLETE stacking set of that pattern BOWLS AND the whole set would have been about $10. I went home to "Sleep on it", the next morning BRIGHT and early I left to go bring them HOME, "YEA RIGHT", "GONE,GONE,GONE"! I guess I deserved that! Ahhhh, your fridge dish just reminded me... LOVE all your goodies, and I'd LOVE to see the other things too, MAYBE you can photograph them and save that post for AFTER the holiday??? Hugs to you, Donna

I had the mushroom canister set that matched the spoon rest you bought. Yes it was in my kitchen in the 80's. Not sure how I parted with it.

You are so right about the mushrooms being the 80's!!! My mother had them in her kitchen! Love the deer. I have found a few gifts on ebay for a little more than half the price in the store so I feel like I am doing great!

Hi Linda! I am so honored that you'll think of me whenever you look at that darling Santa doorstop with his book!! I don't blame you for not even thinking about shipping it to me! LOL. The little deer looks like something from the 50s! And I'm just like Olive Cooper in the comments...whenever I see any Pyrex now, I always think of you! :)

Love the Santa doorstop.
I'm going to date myself but I had a mushroom kitchen in the 80"s, canisters and all. I must have been about 10 or 12, lol.

Thanks for hosting the party. I like your tomato timer and your Santa. And that deer is too cute.

Good morning, Linda,

I love your junkin' finds today! They're wonderful. I love the tomato timer, the mushroom spoon rest, the Santa door stop, and the little reindeer! I'm making a list! LOL Great finds, my friend. Too bad the door stop is so heavy, Becky would probably love that. But it's very sweet that you were thinking of her when you got it and that you will think of her when you see it. How special it will be.

Hugs and blessings,
Susan

Hello Linda,

I am back from my vacation and will begin blogging again next week. I wanted to stop by and catch up on your posts. I love your Thanksgiving and your pre Thanksgiving tablescapes. My youngest son just gave me two sets of the Pilgrim S&P shakers and I cannot wait to use them next year. Love your new white ironstone. Speaking of… I did some thrifting while I was in Maine and will be sharing one of my new treasures on the next Junkin Finds Friday. Your little Christmas deer is just too darn cute! I also like your Harmony House Christmas snack plates.

That little deer is just darling, Linda! It really makes me happy that someone is finding good stuff, because the thrifting has been awful here. Worse than any other time of the year, and I don't understand why. But I'll keep looking, because I do love the thrill of the hunt!
Happy Weekend!
