Junkin Finds Friday

Life has been super busy since Miss Rosemary entered the world.  Everyone is doing well but a newborn and a 4 year old both need attention and Grandma has been helping.

These are a few of my junkin finds from April that I wanted to share with you.
I found this tablecloth for $1
It has some stains that I will try to work on when I have some time, but I LOVE the colors!
This little pillow cover? or bag? is so cute and for .50 it had to come home with me.
My helper Charlie had to check out these cute little finds
I love small things and these books were fun finds and I paid $1.25 for both.  The little box is just cute and was .50
I have been searching for another wall shelf and found this one for $10.  I think with some white paint it will be a great display piece.  The little doors will most likely come off.

That's it for me right now!
Back to Grandma duty!

Wishing you JOY,
Linda

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #21 & A BIG ANNOUNCEMENT

Welcome to the 21st JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY!   I hope you have all had a great week and have some awesome finds to share today!  But first I have an announcement to make.
This will be the final Junkin Finds Friday.
I have been struggling with this decision for several months.  As you know my daughter is having her first baby any time now.  I am going to be helping her when the baby is born and then again this summer.  I do not feel that I can give the party the commitment it and you deserve.   So reluctantly I decided I could no longer host JFF.  My first thought was to contact one of my favorite bloggers and good friend Diann from The Thrifty Groove.  Diann gave it some thought and has agreed to take over the Friday party!  I am so thrilled!  Diann's blog was one of the first I found, she has been a mentor to me and we have become really great friends!  I think this is a perfect fit for her and all of you.  Diann will host the party starting next Friday April 1st.  I encouraged her to make it her own and she has decided to tweak the name of the party a little bit....
It will now be called

Diann thank you so much and I can't wait to join you next Friday!
Please everyone go visit Diann and get to know her if you don't already.  She has an incredible blog and is the best thrifter I know!  You will love her just like I do!

Here are my Junkin Finds this week....
I love this old recipe keeper and this crochet pot holder
$1 on half price day
I have some plates that match this cup
only 50 cents...

I got two plates for $1.
They are the 'El Verde' pattern by MS (Max Schonfeld) Kilns. The plates sell for $12 at Replacements.com

I had lunch today with my friend Sandie.  We stopped at a thrift and I found some really great items
I found these two Sandwich Glass cups for 99 cents each.
I love this pattern and now have 4 cups in my collection.  These were giveaways inside Crystal Wedding Brand oats.

I nearly jumped for joy when I saw this hammered aluminum tray for only $1.48
The maker mark is Wendell August in Grove City, PA.
This company has been making hand forged aluminum pieces for 77 years.  The quality of this piece is wonderful.
The pinecone pattern is so pretty!
Again I want to thank all of you for your support of this party and my blog.  I appreciate each and every one of you! I'll see you next week at
Thrifty Things Friday!

Please link up your post and not just your blog and include a link back to the party in your post!

Happy Junkin,
Linda

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #20

Welcome to the 20th Junkin Finds Friday
I am still finding the shelves at the thrift shops pretty bare, but I did manage to find a few good things!

This Pyrex 401 mixing bowl in the Forest Fancies pattern was 99 cents

I found 4 red checked napkins and red handled set of silverware for $2

I love this Stangl Pottery creamer in the 'Carnival' pattern...it has a crack that does not go all the way through.  I still love the look and at 99 cents....it makes me happy

This is my favorite find of the week
This beautiful milk glass dish is stunning! I love the pattern and detail.
 It was only 95 cents!

Now I can't wait to see what you have found to share this week!

Remember link up your post and not just your blog.  Please put a link back to this party in your blog.

Happy Junkin,
Linda

**I am on 'baby watch' now so if you don't hear from me that's where I am.  It's a little early but Sara was told she could go into labor at anytime**

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #19

Welcome to Junkin Finds Friday #19
Last week we had 66 participants!
I have a request, please share something you have found at a yard or estate sale, thrift shop or a really great bargain somewhere.  I don't want to delete posts but it is frustrating to those who come to the party to read about Junkin Finds and read a post has nothing to do with that at all.  Also PLEASE put a link in your blog back to the party.  It is only fair to others who follow the rules. Thank you!
Now this week I'm sharing a few glass items I found thrifting!
This cute juice glass 29 cents and kings crown punch cup 39 cents were big bargains.  I wish I could have found more punch cups but this is so pretty I could not pass it up.
I love the color of this Ball jar and at $1.50 not a bad purchase!
I didn't find a lot this week but I'm very happy with my finds!

Don't forget my giveaway of this cute
Teapot Here
I will draw a winner on Sunday!
I can't wait to see what you found this week!  Please link your post not just your blog and make sure there is a link back to this party!

Happy Junkin,
Linda

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #18

Welcome to Junkin Finds Friday!
Last week I found nothing at the thrifts but I am glad to report I had a little bit better luck this week!
I found this large Texas Ware bowl
Texas-Ware, also marketed as Dallas-Ware, is a brand of melamine plastic dishware that was made in Texas by the Plastic Manufacturing Co. of Dallas. Founded in 1946, the company was the largest manufacturer of melamine plastic dishware for institutional and consumer use from 1957 until 1996. In 1996, the company was purchased by Worthington Custom Plastics, leaving Texas-Ware to the past.
These bowls were made famous recently by Rachael Ray!

An original, early Texas-Ware piece should contain the following information in the logo: "Plastic Manufacturing Co.," "TEXAS-WARE," "Dallas, Texas, USA." Also included is a model number. Whoo Hoo, this is an early piece!  Cost $3
This sweet water color was 99 cents

I love the shape of this creamer and it was only 40 cents at Value Village

A Pyrex divided dish in the Scroll pattern I believe....cost $3

So this was a much better week.  Now I'm excited to see what you have to share this week.  Remember to link up your post not just your blog.  Please have a link in your post back to this party so others may join in.

Happy Junkin,

Linda

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #17

Welcome to Junkin Finds Friday!
We had so much fun last week with 58 of you sharing your junkin finds!  Thank so much!!
This week I must say I haven't had much luck, the three stores I visited I left empty handed...yes it happened...
nothing, nada, zip, zero!
Yikes!
So I'm sharing a post from last February

Hope you enjoy my post about Depression glass

I am by no means any kind of an expert on Depression Glass but I do love it and have collected a few pieces.  My first love was the cobalt blue and I found this piece on ebay

This is a candy dish in the Mt. Pleasant or "Double Shield" pattern
Made by L.E. Smith Glass Co 1920's -1934

This plate is also in the same pattern  along with this creamer

This piece has a silver band but has faded with time

The pattern of the above creamer & sugar is called MODERNTONE made by Hazel-Atlas Glass Co 1934-1942 & late 1940's - early 1950's.  This pattern seems to have some of the most reasonable prices maybe due to it's simple style.

These pink & one green pieces are random thrift store finds
I believe they are all depression glass and not reproductions, but I am not sure.  Like I said NOT an expert or even all that knowledgeable.

I love the edge of this compote

A couple of glasses with different patterns

One piece of green again found in a thrift shop

Collector's Encyclopedia of Depression GlassI have not had the time to research all the patterns of the pink and green glass but when I do I will use this book.  I got mine from Amazon.com and there is a newer addition now.  I have found this to be an amazing resource.  There are so many patterns and colors to learn about.

I hope some of you have had better luck this week.  If not feel free to share any past junkin finds!

Remember to link up you post not just your blog.  Please include a link in your post back to this party!  That's it.

Happy Junkin,
Linda

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #16

It's Friday and time to show us your favorite thrifty bargains!
Last week we had a wonderful time with 48 of you joining the party!

This week I have a couple of wonderful thrifty finds to share
I found this Pyrex teapot for $2.60
It is in wonderful condition and a great addition to my collection

I got this "Taskets" basket for 60 cents
Not as well know as Longaberger baskets these are also hand made, I have found several and use them often
This is a loaf/bread basket
The cloth liner was in it but the plastic protector was not...still in wonderful condition

These black stemmed wine glasses were 99 cents each...these have been on my 'want list' for awhile...they will be seen in a tablescape soon

These 3 rice bowls were $1.51 at the Goodwill.
The color, shape and design are perfect for another tablescape I'm planning

I'm happy with my junkin finds this week.  Can't wait to see what all of you have found to share!

Please link up your post and not just your blog.  Be sure to include a link in your post back to this party so others can join in.

Thanks to all of you who join in each week, I appreciate it so much!

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #15

Welcome to our 15th Junkin Finds Friday!
We had 41 link ups last week!  I am excited to see this party growing!  I hope you are enjoying all the fun junkin finds!
This week I'm sharing a few things I recently found

I love Waechtersbach ceramic tableware
most of you are more familiar with their red pieces
This black and white Piano design is so much fun
and only 65 cents
I love hammered aluminum pieces and have several trays I use a lot.
This tray will be a fabulous new addition.
I love the design...it needs some cleaning but I am so happy I found this tray and only $3 less 15%...sometimes it's nice to be a senior

I only found three of these plates and almost didn't get them...they were $1.49 each but...then I realized they were blue stickers and 70% off...oh yes they are mine.  I can use them on a 3 tiered tray I have.

The edges are a delicate lavender and the center is a pale yellow...these will make a very pretty tablescape!

So what have you found recently?  Please follow these few rules.  Link up your post not your blog and also be sure to leave a link in your post back to the party!
Happy Junkin,
Linda
