Paris Day Seven

The day has arrived...I am going to the top of the Eiffel Tower!
The day is cloudy but no rain!
As we approached the tower I found myself getting so excited!
Closer and closer!
The line was fairly long and
I waited for about an hour to get to the ticket counter
Almost there...the cost to the top
14 Euro's
My ticket!
Through the security and into the North Pillar
Waiting for the tram to the top!
The view from the top of the Eiffel Tower....I am so happy to be here!
It takes my breath away!

No more photos???

My camera battery died!
I kid you not!
Here I am finally at the top of the Eiffel Tower, a dream since I was a girl and my camera battery dies?  What's a girl to do?
No picture of me at the top, can I live with out that?  I know I was there.
(Oh and I'm alone, my cousin could not make the trip to the top)

So down I go and I see my cousin at the bottom and tell her!  I almost cry!
There is nothing left to do but....

Go Back Again!

So I will...sigh!
With battery charged and a spare also charged...
stay tuned for the next trip to the top!
We had a great dinner!
A wonderful pork chop and zucchini with cheese...of course no photos...but you would have enjoyed seeing it.

Let's just end this day with a little smile,
I mean I did go to the top of the Eiffel Tower!

I'm so jealous in the nicest way! Even if you would take just this one picture it would have been worth it. What a beautiful view!!!

I love the photos you took my friend! and sometimes it's nice just to soak it up and not worry about taking pics. It's a good excuse to go again, too! Sweet hugs from far far away!

And just going there is thrilling and quite the accomplishment.

Linda, you'll remember this day always, photo or not. Exciting isn't it? Going to the top of the Arc de Triomphe is also a special experience, but last time I did this I had to walk up the stairs - no elevator working. It was worth it, though just as I reached the top and went outside the sky opened up with buckets of rain. ;-)

Hi Linda,
I am so glad you made it to the top of the Eiffel Tower! Too bad about your batteries. We always carry a spare pair, 'cause the same thing has happened to me before. The views are amazing, aren't they? Worth the wait, just don't try and go on the weekend. Are you going to Versailles? I hope so, you would love it!!

Oh Linda.

The views you got were stunning!

You'll go back again. Maybe it was meant to be that way, so you could go twice!

This whole trip is a dream-come-true. Your daughter was so awesome to give it to you, knowing how happy it would make you. Hugs. Susan

Awesome you had a clear day and went to the top, the view is spectacular!

Well you got some nice pictures before the battery gave out. What a bummer! When my folks were there in the 80's there was scaffolding all around it and they were so bummed!

Susan said...

Breathtaking view--maybe the battery ran out because you are suppose to go again,

We got to the top of the tower and it started to rain. All of a sudden we could not see in front of us. We had a few minutes of clear before it began, but our pictures aren't that good. I have a plastic ruler I bought at the gift shop that makes me smile in my work space each time I use it.

I'm sure we're all laughing because we've all done EXACTLY the same thing! The pictures in your memory are the most important anyway.

What a spectacular view. I've had a battery die on my more times than I can remember. Happy to hear you're going up again this time with a fully charged battery:-)
