Paris Day One

I am here!  Finally and yes it is even better then I dreamed!

My daughter Ashleigh took me to the airport to depart for Paris on 9/4
I was so excited and very happy to have Ashleigh share the start of my great Paris adventure!
Boarding the plane!  I flew to Newark first and then joined my cousin for the LONG trip to Paris.  I don't sleep much on airplanes and so arrived in Paris a little tired....but also thrilled to be there!
My luggage wasn't!  It was still stateside.  They promised it was on it's way and the would deliver it to the apt.
Not going to let it get me down!  This is Paris and so I'll wear what I have on!  I did have a change of clothes with me for the next day!
Of course I could see the Eiffel Tower!
from our street.  We were super tired and took a walk but didn't go too far.  My cousin is limited in her walking but is doing great so far!
Beautiful streets!
I forgot to mention the crazy traffic!  We had booked a Taxi for our arrival (best thing we did) and he took us directly to our rental apt.
So glad I wasn't driving!
First dinner in Paris was Italian!
I know...but it was close and we both said it sounded good! I-Pupi on the Rue Malar was friendly and the lasagna was so good!
My first glass of wine in Paris!

All in all it was a great day!
Now if my luggage will just get here  tomorrow!

I can hardly imagine the thrill of being there! Keep us in the "loop"...It's probably as close as I'll get to Paris (although we DID have a brief layover there when traveling to Burkina Faso, West Africa. Afraid I didn't make it out of the airport :(

Oh how exciting you are THERE, Linda! How incredibly exciting!

How disappointing your suitcases are not there but hey, in the general scheme of things, that was not so bad. At least you had a second change of clothes! Qui! Qui!

Thanks for posting and hope you have a fabulous week! Susan

Bonjour Linda!
Ah, the wine and the food of Paris! Nothing like it! Have you tried a Nutella filled crepe, yet? The traffic is crazy, especially around the Arc de Triomphe!!
The first time I went to Paris, we didn't make it on the plane, but our luggage did! So imagine how stressed I was to get on the plane the next day, hoping and praying that I would see our bags there! Thank God they were waiting for us!
So smart of you to have packed a change of clothes!!

A dear friend, who passed away way too young at 47, once was on a trip to Monacco and they left her luggage! Se was a very tall and big boned gal so buying stuff was really pricey! But her hubby who was scared of flying chicken out at the airport and they sent his luggage with her and her stuff was sent home with Cliff! Jonel said she enjoyed burning thru his money to buy new clothing! I sure miss all the wonderful stories she told.
You and Paris go good together! My middle daughter loves to travel, I will have to recruit her one day, God willing, to go to Paris with me! She wants to travel to Ireland first!
Oh Linda, you are so blessed. Have so much fun and eat a crossiant for me! With cafe creme of course!
