Thrifty Things Friday #116

I thought I would give you an update on the move!
We got here just fine and unloaded the truck in record time.  Sara helped me unpack the kitchen on Thursday.  I unpacked a lot of boxes in the next few days!
This is the very empty (except for boxes) living room.  I will have a new sofa delivered this Saturday and I'm very excited.  I shopped the 4th of July sales and got a good deal!
The other end of this room is the dining area!
A work in progress as you can tell!

The kitchen is coming together and is neater then this now.  Still so much unpack and figure out where it all needs to go.

This is the spare bedroom aka dish storage/craft room/guest bedroom.
It was honestly worse then this to start but I've been busy!
It's getting there!  I still have lots of things to unpack and totes to find a storage place for, but I can move around in here now.
Dish closet in progress!
Temporary home for the glassware.  I need something with doors on it to protect from little hands.  It will be on 'thrifting' list.

Of course I had to set up a play area for Tiger right away.
This has books and toys ready for his visits!
He has already enjoyed playing with them!
This adorable book was 15 cents at the thrift shop!

I needed a lamp and I found one at the thrift shop.
I had the shade but I love this glass lamp base.  It is heavy and very pretty.  The cheapest lamps at Target were $19 and this was $8 and it's gorgeous!

I am heading back to my old house to pack more things (yes, I have more stuff to move) but the main reason for this trip is to bring Charlie home with me!

I hope you will visit Diann and see what everyone is linking up for this weeks TTF!
Wishing you all a fabulous
4th of July!

Linda

Linda, I hate to move and swore the last time I did it that it was the last. but..then I got to thinking..it's really an adventure..exciting if rather tiring. Where to put what..bringing it all together and making it feel like home again.
Enjoy!
You got a couple of good deals from the thrift shop. I LOVE the lamp! It's really cute!

Oh you poor thing, I don't envy you one bit. We moved four times in four years several years ago, I don't miss it one bit! Continued wishes of good luck with it! It will all be worth it when you're closer to your little Tiger, which I know, you know! Hugs - Dawn

You are super ambitious, lady!!! Doing this move AND planning for your Paris trip...I don't know how you do it!!! My brain would be scrambled beyond recognition!!!!

I am glad to see you are settling in little be little. You are making tremendous progress, and I hope you have a good weekend that allows you to get a little R&R in there, too. Take care!

A dish closet! I keep my clothes in a cabinet in the living room. I can't imagine having a closet just for dishes.

I don't envy you all the work - have fun organizing.

You are full of energy Linda!! Nice lamp - love the glass body of it!! There so much you can do with it as far as shades go. Thank you for your help with my google reader question. I'm still using yahoo for my mail and keep my blog on "my favorites" so it sounds like the google reader doesn't affect me.
Sounds like your move has gone pretty smoothly!! That Tiger is so lucky to have you as his Grandma!! Once you get settled in - you can keep an open suitcase and start filling it up with Paris things!!!

Too bad we don't live close now and could help each other. My life is all packing...hoping to get it all done before I have to go to Las Vegas for a trade show on the 21st. When I get home, I have a few days before the movers descend and we head east! Love the dish closet...XOXO

Apparently, I have missed much, during my short hiatus from blogging! I had no idea you were moving!! Good luck - the thought of having to move all of my things is a panic-producing idea!!! I cannot wait to see the new place, when you have finished unpacking!!
