WELCOME BACK BIRDS!

Thank you all for your get well wishes!  I am feeling much better and even sat on the screened porch today.
Glorious fresh air!

I am going to use a previous post for two fun parties
First posted January 27th 2010
So this week B is for Birds........

Have you ever found yourself with a collection you didn't know you had???  That's what has happened with me and these little birds.
It all started with this little guy.  I got him from my Bio-Dad's house after he passed away.  It just spoke to me.

It is made by Goebel and I love the glazes on it

I remembered I had these salt & pepper shakers a good friend had given me for my birthday....they look a little angry don't they

This cute little bell with a bird on top came home with me one day

Soon Joined by more birds

and MORE birds..........it's an invasion!
NO, It's a collection!

These two are my current favorites.  I love the color and they are tiny and just too cute!  I got them in a 'junk' bag yesterday for 50 cents along with..

This cute little guy who is marked JAPAN

This one is a candle holder

You've seen these guys before

 An all white bird

So yes I would say I have a collection, and this does not include all the cardinals I have that I use around Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by..Do you have a collection you didn't know you had?  I would love to hear what it is!

Of course you know I have so many more birds now that is a whole year later!  They are so sweet and cute and small and easy to collect!  Thanks for joining me on this fun look back.  Here are two fun parties so go on...join in the fun!

Linda you have a flock! They're so adorable! I have that same Goebel bird (love that one) Great little tweeties all!
I am sometimes surprised by how collections just seem to "happen" I have a collection of incense burners that I've purchased over quite a long while...Well it turns out I had three of them before I realized they were all the same. Just in different sizes...And yes I am a blond lol! Vanna

Hi Linda!
I love, love, love your little birdie collection. The vingette that you have set up looks so shabby chic and cottagey. I see a really sweet pillow in the background that I am drooling over.
You come up with the sweetest collections.

I have many collections that I didn't know I had until I started blogging.

hugs

You do, indeed, have a bird collection...and a mighty handsome one, at that.
Those little white pitchers are the things I have that I had no idea I was collecting. Then, one morning I looked and I had.....a collection. :)

Linda, I'm so glad you are feeling better. Your birds look so cheerful, they ought to make you feel much better. I love the way you've arranged them. Those little baby blue s/p shakers stole my heart. I used to have one like the first one you posted. I loved his little plump self. Somewhere along the way, he was broken. Thankyou for linking these sweet birds to Favorite Things. laurie

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear you were sick, but I'm glad you're feeling better! And that you live in a part of the country that it's warm enough to sit on the porch! You've got a really nice collection of birdies. My Mom has collected birds for years, so I guess that's where I get my love of them too!
Happy Monday!

You made me think of spring today! And with another winter blizzard coming tonight, I at least need to see pretty birds to remind me we are getting closer to nicer weather. Thank you for reminding me that collections can sometimes get you through the day! Take care!

Love you little birdies Linda! They aren't angry, they're pensive,LOL!

Betsy said...

Your little birds are adorable and I love that angry look;-) I think collections sneak up on us. One day we buy our first treasure and then before we know it, a collection is born. My last post made me think about how long I've had my door knob collection and how long they've just been sitting around. It's on my mile long "to-do" list.
Hope you're having a good week.

i seem to have lots of birds in my artwork in both my sunroom and my bedroom. there's something peaceful about them, altho i admit to getting angry when they wake me in the mornings!

Glad you're finally back to your good spirits.

How did I know? A little birdie told me so!

What a sweet post.

And, Linda, if you come across any D-handle fireking jadeite mugs in your travels that aren't too expensive, I'd be interested!
