It is that day of the week that we join Mrs Jenny for Alphabe-Thursday and this week we are up to the letter
V
I am going to share one of oldest collections
all in Verde
OK
GREEN!
PLANTERS
I remember my Mom having planters on our coffee table with ivy in them. The first one I found at a yard sale I fell in love with.
They have been very thrifty finds at yard sales, flea markets and occasionally at thrift stores
Most were purchased for 50 cents of less
My helper was making sure these two round planters were ready for their close up
Mama these two look alike?
Just slight color variations
I had one and a good friend gave me the other
The shape of this one is interesting
Different
But the same?
Love this shade of Verde
Chartreuse?
This planter was bought 2 years ago at the Longest Yard Sale for 50 cents ~ it is a bright green and made by Shawnee
I like the handles on this one
Very art deco
This planter is made by Maddux of California
There were many California pottery companies in the
40's - 60's
Many of my planters are unmarked or marked USA Calif
These planters have a home on my
bakers rack in the screened porch
Hope you enjoyed V is for Verde

I love your planters. I seem to gravitate to those in antiques stores. I'm not sure what I would do with them, but looking at your pictures certainly gives me some ideas. Great posting!

I love your planters too. The baker's rack is the perfect home for them.
Wow Linda. Great shots! Good finds! Susan
What a beautiful Verde collection! I love every single one of them and Charlie is a cutie!
Oooooh the Longest Yardsale, color me *green* with envy! That has been on my to do list for years now. I love green and love all your beautiful little planters, lucky gal! Happy VTT!
What a fun collection of verde planters! I love all those old ceramic planters. I remember as a little kid EVERYBODY used them in their home decor. i wonder why they went way?
I am green with envy Linda....love the cat shot...looks so intrigued by them all. Nice collection, and thank you so much for your feedback.
Very nice collection of planters...green is the perfect color...or should I say Verde? Peace
Hi Linda,
How impressive to see them all together on your baker's rack. They are all beautiful. I love it!
Thanks for sharing.

You have a wonderful collection of vede planters and I like how you display them!
Wow, what wonderful shades of green in all of these planters! I remember these too, I think my mom had a few like these. What a great collection you have! Have a great VTT!
Very cool. They're not something I would have ever thought to collect, but it's amazing when you amass them, they are spectacular. Love your helper.
Hope you can come and join us on Sunday for "Summer Sundays". It's all about what summer means to YOU!

These bring back memories of growing up. My Mom had a stack of these on the shelf by the washer. They became a catch all for pennies and clothespins and screws and soap and sponges. I have no idea what happened to them as I did pack up my parents home???? I remember that there was one that I just loved for some reason. Guess I did not love it that much because I never did bring that one upstairs to the main level of the house. Gone are the days of those cute little planters but glad you brought the memories to me tonight.

Those greens remind me of the things my parents had in the 1950s--no planters, but a lot of norther things in those colors.
I thought of verde chili! It is our favorite! But I went a different route! I love your planters. You ave a very wide variety of them and I am verde with envy! LOL! Anne
It's great seeing all your pretty green planters! Glad to know I'm not alone in my obsession with old pottery. :) I especially like that art deco looking one.
Your planters are just gorgeous, and I love the different shades of green. Happy VTT..
They are all very pretty, but my favorite is the one with the handles. Your helper sure is a cutie pie.
Those are really pretty and cool, Linda. Ya know, i have a Pyrex bowl set in what they call Verde. Good call. Yes, your puddytat surely is a dolly.
Those are great and you got them for an exceptional price. I guess I'm going to have to start going to garage sales, thrift stores etc. People seem to find such nice things for great prices. Great V post.
Linda, that is QUITE the collection of planters! They are just beautiful! I love them on your baker's rack! Joni
Wonderful! I love your collection of verde planters!!! I think we like a lot of things in common. :-)
oh geez, some of those planters are just delish! i love the fish scale one ... wonderful collection and verde is a wonderful v word!
I did enjoy viewing your green planters and you have a wonderful blog. Not many people know that the word "verde" means green. The AZ state tree is the Palo Verde which means "green stick".
I love this collection of verde planters. Verde is one of my favorite colors any way, but all the shapes of these planters are wonderful!
Terrific planters...each is a beautiful green!
Beautiful collection of planters. Green is in Finnish vihreä, but verde sounds more elegant!

You would be magic to go thrifting with!
These pots are quite lovely. Why aren't there plants in any of them??!! :)

Linda, Linda, Linda...... what can I say except that I own half of your green collection. That is my very favorite color to collect. I am cleaning out a bunch for my shop. Having said that, that I am downsizing, I still picked up a new one last night at Goodwill that I will be posting. Once a collector (addict) always a collector.
Hi nice to meet you! You have a great collection of planters. I remember my mom had planters like this when I was growing up, and they did have ivy in them! lol! Thanks for sharing yours.

I love your verde (I learned a new word) planters.. and how your kitty is checking them out. I think they would look great with some moss "verde" balls in them... just a thought.

Linda, you have a great collection of verde planters! Each one is so unique, but having them displayed all together on the baker's rack is so impressive. laurie
Linda, you have some really nice planters...even Charlie has taken a liking to them, I see! The one with the handles reminds me of a tureen without the lid.
Linda, I remember my grandmother having a couple of these and now one of the Aunts have them. Isn't it funny what's old is new again? I love it.. I would love to visit with you outside the shop one day... hugs ~lynne~

These are truly lovely. It's so interesting how all the shades of green look really good together!
Thanks for this charming stop on our little journey through Alphabe-Thursday's Letter "V"!
A+
These are all so beautiful and they look so great displayed together. I've been wanting to get to that Longest Yard Sale...someday.
I have the darker green one in pictures 6 & 7 :)
and used to have the same one in 13.
Are they worth anything...cause the one I have is just hanging outside in the weather, after it's contents died, i just kind of put it out the one back door.
