If you are a 'dishaholic' you will get the question
Well today I'm going to show you..

I am joining THE TABLESCAPER
to share my storage.  How fun to see where everyone keep's it all...

This is my 'Dish Closet'
It is a small walk in closet in our TV room
I have added several of those closet organizers
(all thrifted)
That is a lot of dishes.  I try to organize by color.
The top shelf has rolled up placemats
Boxes hold napkins sorted by color
Large items on the very top shelf
Some placemats on a multi-clip hanger
Tablecloths hang on multi-pant hangers
This closet still needs some more organization but it's getting there

Now on to the Dining Room and the Hutch
On the top are several apothecary jars
Inside is mostly glassware.  Shelves of water & wine glasses.
Tea cups, salt & peppers and other decorative items
Lots of clear glass serving pieces
This hutch was Mr ALC's Mothers and I love it
A thrifted tea cart is a small storage area also in the dining room

In the kitchen my high up cabinets hold mostly Christmas dishes
This corner cabinet
Holds most of my Pyrex collection and is a wonderful display

Now we go downstairs to the basement
This is a work in progress
This very old hutch needs some TLC but at the moment
it holds most of my Milk Glass collection
This bookcase needs to be organized for some holiday decorations
I try to keep the heavy dishes up stairs because I'm old and hate carrying them up and down but items I use less frequently are going to be stored down in the basement.  I have plans for more shelves and or another hutch for storage.
And of course some things are still in boxes waiting for a home

So that is my answer to
Where do you keep it all!

Go check out others storage and you will be impressed.
It makes me feel better about my dish obsession!

Don't forget the last day for the #5 Giveaway is June 2nd

Linda, you are so neat...my places to stash dishes/glassware/linens is a disaster area! I am ashamed to show it...may have to rethink this before I decide to join in...

Oh Linda, I have to say, you are one organized and super lady! Okay, have to admit, I feel like dirt! Yes, I do! I know that my kids call me a neat one, but you honey are the real thing!

Thanks for motivating me, I'll get along and straighten things up!

You know I love your blog!
Hugs to you,

Thanks for sharing your storage areas! This is so fun to see how everyone deals with the "craft supplies" of our tablescaping hobby! You seem to have a good system of organizing going on!

Oh I would love a walk in closet!!! I mainly keep my dishes in my kitchen. I have a double cabinet that I use for my good dishes and then I have my hutch in the dining room that has more. I would love one place to store everything. One day! Enjoyed your post and the pictures!

I'm impressed! You are so organized-which I am not. I'm still a "work-in-progress" so maybe someday... Thanks for sharing your great ideas with us today!

WOW! That's impressive!!!

I recognize a few of those pieces! ; )

Impressive! Your dishes have lovely homes. Nice work! But one thing -- your milk glass thinks it needs to come and live HERE with me, as it is feeling unloved and insecure in the basement. Really.

WAY too neat! LOL..You are so organized. It is always an adventure with me..will I find it??
Thanks for sharing..I use skirt hangers for all my placemats and tablecloths too. It used to be my husbands closet, but no room for his things now!

I like that everything is so organized. Thanks for sharing your dish stash. :)

You've got lots & lots of neat places & everything is stacked so nicely. I hear ya' on hauling them up & down the steps. That's why only my seasonal stuff is down there. The ones I use more often are on the main floor.

It is good exercise, I guess. :/

This must be in response to my last post. You're way too organized to be a hoarder. I just want to come to your home and shop off the shelves LOL!
You've got so many beautiful pieces and it's great to see them displayed in a way that you can enjoy them. Go girl!

Hello Linda! Love that walk in closet in your T.V. room. I'm waiting for the last of son #2's stuff to be out of here so I can take over some more space!

You are one organized gal!! Good for you! Lots of pretty dinnerware. I also like the ones in the box...waiting for their home...that's how my family room looks...boxe/totes everywhere.

Oh, wow! I sure would have fun playing with all of your wonderful dishes! My very favorite idea is your use of the hangers with clips to store place mats. That is downright genius! Mine are all crammed in a drawer, and I just can't stand it! Thanks for the great idea! I have some nice milk glass pieces, too.

You certainly are organized! I love the idea of placemats on multi hangers...I'm putting that on my shopping list.

OMG you win! No one has that many dishes!! At least you organized!

My mouth is watering over all your dishes!! I love them all, and you are so organized. You can actually see your dishes and their colors so you can use them. Mine are in shelves and I do not even know what I have, not nearly as many but you use yours and that is what is important! Thanks for the kind words about Alli's wedding, the flowers were a labor of love! It was so much fun to do them but I was pooped for a week!

I love your idea for hanging table linens from a clip hanger!

I like the open shelves in the walk in closet the best. You have a lovely collection of everything and looks like you found a way to organize them so neatly...Christine

A basement. I DREAM about having a basement. Of course if I DID have a basement then I'd have a huge fight with my husband since I'm sure he'd have this crazy idea about creating a mancave or something ridiculous down there when I'd of course use it for storage now that my gigantic shed is full to the rafters. I AM downsizing and intending to hold the mother of all garage sales this fall (it's too hot now).

Oh! MY! That is a lot of DISHES!
I take donations if there is too much for YOU!!! :) Can you put me in your will for the Milkglass? Have a lovely dish day!

Vonlipi said...

Linda that was so fun!

You have a lot of stuff! Not too much but a lot! lol

Thank you for that delicious peek in your closets!

Love this post. It was a party for the eyes. I really love milk glass so if I had all those pieces they would be upstairs with me. Just sayin'! Very nice, very organized. Love your obsession. :) Deb =^..^=x5

Wow, you have done a great job organizing and storing all your wonderful treasures. I especially love your MIL's hutch and your closet of plates, placemats, etc. On the smaller shelf of goodies, you have a set of 4 coffee cups....I have one of those same cups that I think came from DH's grandma. And recently I've seen a set of them at our fav Thrift store...I was so tempted.
You are so lucky to have a basement, too. And to not live in earthquake country where I'd fear for the lives of those goodies stacked high up ;D Hugz~

Linda, you are incredibly organized. However, I want to be a friend here. May I come and help empty just a few things from your shelf? I am willing to make that sacrifice for you... hee hee!

I drew your name for the spot number 1 for Alphabe-Thursday's Letter "T"!

Don't be confused. I will hold that position for you, Linda, and when you are ready to link...e-mail me your link URL and I will place it into position number one.

I just want to stir up who gets the first spots each week!

E-mail me at jennymatlock at cox dot net if you have any ???'s

I wrote about your winning spot number one here:

Great organizing Linda! Love seeing all your beautiful dishes and other pretties! And it is so nice to not feel like I'm the only one with lots of dishes! After looking at some of the other people joining up for this party, I feel completely "under-dished"! LOL
