I am only going to share one item for this Silver Sunday...it's a ring...More valuable to me then gold....for this is not just 'any' ring
'It's Our Ring'
My Parents have been married a long time
My Dad is not on earth any longer but My Mom says they are still married and always will be
When my Dad passed away (it will be 5 years this summer) his wedding ring was kept by Mom. She took her wedding rings and Dad's ring and asked a jeweler to make them into one ring
Our Ring
He did!
With Mom's hands becoming frail and thin she is afraid of losing it
so now...
It has become my very treasured
'Their Ring'
Always,
Linda

that is an absolutely gorgeous ring, and such a touching story.
Oh so sweet!!!! The ring is fabulous.
Did you see Rita's post on "Sunday Favorites" today about her ruby ring - - - and more importantly, the STORY that went with it???? If you missed it - - - it is WELL worth going over to Chari's list and FINDING it.
What a beautiful ring, Linda.
How beautiful and what a sweet story, Linda! I know you must treasure it! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie
Keetha, sent me a message to check out your ring story.
It is certainly a fabulous story and your ring is beautiful. Thank you for posting it.
Sounds like my first husband died about the same time as your father. I took our rings and several others that he had given me and had the jeweler combing them all into a free form pendant that I would wear on a chain.
I am now remarried and can wear our rings without causing any heart ache or emotional pain for my new husband, because he does not know the history of the piece. It also gives me a piece of jewelry my daughter will be able to inherit and wear and pass down without anyone having to be concerned about sizing.
What a great idea, Linda. Your mom is so sweet to think of it! Sincerely, Susan
This is such a beautiful and precious family heirloom!

Oh Linda. What a beautiful story. How precious that ring must be to you. This is a touching story and yes it brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing.
Besides the ring being so awesomely beautiful, the fact your mother loved you enough to give it to you, the sentiment - of the love between them is so special. I've never heard of anything so sweet.
What a great legacy of love you have.

I love the idea of making one ring from the two! Your mom is a genius!!!
Linda, what a loving idea that your mother had regarding the wedding rings. A real treasure! I'm ready to go "thrifting". Wonder if I'll find any of your returned "cats"?
Enjoy the time with your mother.
Best.
