WLYS 2012!!

With everything going on in my life I almost missed planning for
This will be the 5th year Mr ALC and I have gone to WLYS .  Last year was a disappointment (so hot & fewer sellers) so this year we are making it a shorter trip and I think we will enjoy it more!
Still I always find some treasures on this trip!
I thought I would take a little trip down memory lane and share some of my favorite items from each years sale
My first time at this sale with Mr ALC!
This Milk Glass chicken was one of my first buys in 2008
Three milk glass bowls all bought separately
I was really into Milk Glass in 2008
This amazing bowl was only 25 cents!

In 2009 this was one of my favorite finds
$20 for this complete set
These cute S&P's were 50 cents and one of my last finds on this trip

I was blogging this year and really enjoyed taking photos of my trip!  First year of the 'Let Me Shop For You' giveaway!
This 50 cent little orphan salt shaker was one of my favorite finds of 2010!
I fell crazy in love with this little green elf!
This was my best year of shopping for sure!

2010's shop for you winner was
Becky and this was what I bought for her!

Last year was a rough year. We took a longer trip and with the economy, heat and fewer dealers we were disappointed.  Of course we STILL managed to find some great stuff!
I found my first Pink Gooseberry Pyrex bowl for $3
Two lovely glass blue birds for $1each
This little Avon bird was only .50
My favorite find of 2011 this mini Brownie camera
Last year's shop for you winner was Deb
These were her goodies!

If you guessed that it's time for the

Let Me Shop For You giveaway
your are correct!

You must be a follower of
A La Carte

Leave a comment letting me know your favorite of my finds shown in this post and that you would like to be entered in the giveaway!
One comment, that's all!
I'll choose a winner next Friday July 27th!

I'm joining Potpourri Friday

Sure Linda...put me in the give away. I'll need to check out the Longest Yard Sale, we went once in AL and was disappointed. Your milk glass is lovely in this post.

I have been wanting to go to the WLYS for years but something always come up! I love the handkerchiefs from last year, but I like almost everything. Have fun and hope the heat stays away!

I like everything, really, but partial to the cute birdies, and the glasses and pitcher remind me of childhood for some reason. Count me in, Linda! xo

Linda, you have had great luck at the WLYS! I have always wanted to go, and I think it starts here in Alabama. :D

What area will you be going to this year?

Shelia said...

Hi Linda! I'd love to go on that long garage sale. We just don't have any decent ones around here. Okay, my favorite of your finds is the first one - that little covered chicken dish. I have four of them and am always on the lookout for one.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

What a fun giveaway Linda. Love all your treasures, but that camera is smiling at me:-)
We've talked about coming out for this sale for the longest time. Maybe one of these days we'll actually get there. We need something big like this on the West Coast.

I remember reading about the WLYS last year. I would love to go to something like that.
I would love to be entered in your giveaway and my favorite is that little orphan salt shaker. It's so cute

I like that little 50 cent blue bird best! It sure would be fun to go to those sales! You find such great treasures! Hugs!

Can't wait to see what you find this year. Please don't enter my name as I won last year (thank you)
The Paris tablesetting is awesome! What a dream come true for you in 2013!
Have a great weekend. Thank you for your concern about my kidney stone!

Oh my, I wish we had TLYS in CO! I love the little elf, and everything you chose for last year's winner the best! What a great way to have fun and be generous at the same time! :OD

We do have the same taste! I have all the same milk glasses pieces and would love to find more of the small bowls. PLEASE take me along. It' a long way from TEXAS.

I'm kinda digging the little green elf.

Everybody always talks about how great the buys are on the WLYS, but my one experience didn't prove to be worth it.

Oh, Linda, this sounds like fun. I'd never talk "the chef" into making a road trip like this. I took him to Brimfield one year and he lasted half a day. Will say he shopped Round Top with me for an entire day, but that was so many years ago he's forgotten how much fun it was!
It will be fun to see what you find this year. Hmmm, I think I've already won my prize. ;-) Thanks again for your generosity. ~ Sarah

I would love to "shop" at one of those longest yard sales. There always seems to be something in the way that prevents us from going. I think my favorite find is that pitcher and glasses.

Vagabonde said...

I have heard about this sale but did not know where it was. I followed your link and found out it ends in Alabama – it is still a long way from my home (near Kennesaw, GA.) In addition we have so much in our house that I am afraid to go and be tempted! I loved what you found. I have never seen the pink gooseberry pattern for Pyrex. You found some good buys.

BECKY said...

Oh Linda! How fun to see my goodies showcased on your blog again! I still love them all, of course!! I'm not entering to win this year, since I won in 2010. (Gosh, has it really been TWO summers??) Good luck to everyone else and I hope you and Mr. ALC have a wonderful time! :)

Claudia said...

Hope you had fun! I've never been to this sale but it sure sounds like a lot of fun!

Look. Even if I don't win your contest you have GOT to shop for me! I'm going to email you a list, girlfriend, and you'd better take along a pile of money. Well, just kidding, but I WISH I could do this sale since I miss it every year. I was in a couple of the states it goes through last year but I was too early. Still managed to find a few things thanks to early-bird vendors. And yes, it was a scorcher! I'm thinking that MAYBE I might try to do the first part--it starts in north Alabama, doesn't it? In any event, have a blast!

Since I never get to go to the WLYS, I always look forward to your posts, because I get just as excited by other people's finds as I do about my own!
I think my favorite of your finds would have to be that camera. I love that kind of stuff! PLEASE enter me in your giveaway, Linda. And get packing!

I won't be able to trek the WLYS this year, so take some good pictures!!! My favorites of your previous finds are the Pyrex bowl and the Brownie camera, but I'm voting for the little camera!!!

Well, I did not come visit just to enter a contest but I did want to see if you are able to make it on the WLYS trail.
Funky Junk Donna is coming down from Canada for it this year.

You always have such great finds, but I am partial to that camera, since I loved my Brownie.
