Autumn Leaves

"The Autumn Leaves Drift by the window
The Autumn Leaves of Red and Gold"

This wonderful song was one of the first
(and only) songs I learned on the piano
Lyrics by Johnny Mercer
It remains a favorite this time of year
I found these Maple Leaf cup and saucers at the thrift shop and knew they would make a great fall tablescape
These place mats were a thrift shop find.  I used a black plate as a charger, a rust colored salad plate and topped with the cup and saucer!
The flatware is champagne colored from World Market.
I used a black napkin with the leaf napkin ring,
Black stemmed wine glass and a small black bowl complete the place setting
I am really love the color combination
I made a centerpiece of faux fall leaves in a basket
and sprinkled leaves down the table with fall colored acorns
and pumpkins and tea lights
I added an acorn & fall leaf salt and pepper shakers
"When Autumn Leaves Start to Fall..."

Hugs,

Wow, Linda. That's a gorgeous table setting. Fabulous job! Everything goes so beautifully together.

Have you ever heard Eva Cassidy sing Autumn Leaves? Oh my, it brings tears to my eyes. Google it so you can hear her.

Take care. Thanks for sharing such loveliness. Susan

I really like this color combination too Linda. It's very crisp looking with the black. I also am really liking your salad plates. I looked (didn't buy) at some very similar at Dillard's just this past weekend. They were part of a Tuscan collection they sell. I love the boarder and color of yours. Lovely job on the loosely arranged centerpiece, it's very inviting!

Linda , your fall tablescape looks awesome! I did not know you played the piano. I always wanted to play and sing, but I am not musically inclined at all. I can not carry a tune in a bucket. LOL

Oh, wow! I was just listening to Nat King Cole singing that song!!!!!! I especially love to hear it this time of year! I should learn to play it on the piano. I need something fun like that. That and Barry Manilow's "When October Goes". So great for the season! Your dishes are so unique and so pretty! The leaf motif is just what the doctor ordered!!!
