A Little Thrifting!

I have done a little thrift shopping while here in Texas.  I have been trying not to buy much as I am flying home and not in my car!
Last week I found these...
Metlox pottery in the 'Fruit Basket' pattern
The sugar bowl and creamer were $2.99
The lid detail is so cute!

 I also found....
The matching Salt & Pepper for $1.50

I looked for plates or any other pieces of this pattern but found none~!
Still these will go with so many colors and will be seen in a tablescape for sure!

If you are a follower of A La Carte you know I love my Blue Birds of Happiness
I found this one for 99cents!

Now for the happy news!
At Mom's check-up on Wed her Dr said she was doing great and can resume all her activities.  This means I can go home!
I will miss Mom so much but I need to get home and start looking for a place for her to move closer!
Texas is now just too far away!
Here we are last Saturday on my Birthday!
She looks great don't you agree?

So looks like I will be flying home Monday and hopefully Mom will be moving closer in the next 6-12 months!  Thank you again for all your prayers and well wishes!

Linda

What a delightful picture of you and your Mom(two Beautiful Ladies)...I am SO HAPPY she is OK...Of course my prayers are forever.
Your thrifting finds is ADORABLE! I would not have been able to resist them either. I love the little flowers on the sugar lid! We do not use sugar so "I" would fill it with strawberry jam...YUM! Hmmm, I think I'll check ESTY for one!
Have a fun week,
Hugs,
Donna

I agree - the lid detail is very sweet! And I like the bluebird! In fact I have one with a date & artist (?) etched on its bottom. What's up with that, do you know?

Glad to hear your mother is doing better. I can imagine how good it will be for her to be closer to you.

When I saw that blue bird I knew it was YOU right away.

Your mom is beautiful. I can see how much you look alike - but she has a widow's peak and you don't - you must have got that hairline from your dad - interesting you know.

Be careful coming HOME.

Very fitting you found the blue bird of happiness with the good news about your Mom, it is so hard being so far from elderly parents. My Mom is only 69 but I am finally moving within a couple of hours drive from her and very happy to do so.
