A Little Sadness!

Thank you all for your well wishes for my Mom.
She is doing great and healing well.  Still tires easily but each day she gets stronger.  She goes back to the Doctor on June 13th and if she is released to drive I will fly home the next week.  I'll begin making plans to move her closer to me!

On top of everything Mom has been going through
her sweet dog Buddy died last Friday
Buddy was 13 years old and not in the best of health.  In fact we took him to the Vet on Thur to see how he was doing and judge his condition.
The Vet said he had a pretty bad heart mummer and a gum infection and it was getting 'time'.  Mom wasn't ready right then so we decided to get him an antibiotic shot, some pills for his cough and begin to say our goodbyes.
God had other plans~~
Late Friday night after we had gone to bed, we heard Buddy cry and when we got to him I could tell something serious had happened and he was dying.  I held his head and stroked his side until he took his last breathe...letting him know we loved him and what a good dog and great companion he had been.  This was my first time helping a furry friend over the Rainbow Bridge.
We like to think that Buddy is up there with my Dad sitting in his lap as he did for so many years before my Dad passed away!  I know they are happy to be together again.  Mom and I are sad but know that he had a good life.  I am so thankful I was here to help Buddy and my Mom through this really hard time.
We still have Mom's cat Sam and he has been a real comfort to her!

So one last picture and this I hope will cheer you up!  It's of Tiger of course.  His Grandma misses him so much!
The most beautiful baby ever!

Toujours,
Linda

It is always so sad to lose a pet like this. It's comforting, though, to know that you made Buddy comfortable and that you were with him in the end. That makes a difference, I truly believe it does. What matters most is that Buddy was loved in life, and that he continues to be loved now that he is gone. I'm really, really sorry.

So sorry Linda! I've been thinking. Your sweet daughter is probably so good to you since she grew up seeing how good you are to your mom and family. Kudos to you.

I'm so sorry about Buddy. It is really hard to help them over that bridge. I helped my Pepper in 2006. Broke my heart. Glad you're moving your mother closer to you.

I'm so sorry. That must have been really difficult for your Mom -- especially when she not been well herself. I hope she recovers nicely and you'll be able to make the move with her soon. Sounds like there is a lot on your plate! Take care of yourself too.

Oh Linda my heart is breaking for your mom. I once read that when we make our journey to heaven, all our loved ones have to stand back so that our fur children can come greet us first. Oh what a glorious thing to look forward to. And that gave me great comfort when we lost our last fur child. I have a few fur children waiting for me. Give a big hug to mom from me. And here's one for you too!~Hugs~~Ames

Dear Linda,
This breaks my heart. Our pets help us through so many bad times just by being near and loving unconditionally, and to lose Buddy when your Mom has been through so much...
I too believe our pets will be waiting for us someday with our loved ones, to greet us with wet kisses and adoring eyes:)
Hoping your mom gets a good report and you will be home soon. You need a Tiger fix girlfriend:)
Hugs,
Suzanne

Maybe Buddy knew that moving would just be too hard on him and he decided to leave now and keep all the good memories of living here with your mom. He was obviously a loyal and loving companion as I am sure your mom was to him. Blessings to her as she heals from her health troubles and her heartache. take care.

Oh Linda, I write this with tears in my eyes. How sad to say goodbye to a beloved pet, your mom must have been so relieved you were there to help her through that too.
Please give your mom a hug for me and ask her to give you one for me too, because you are so awesome for hearing Buddy's distress call and comforting him on his way out. (sniff)

Thanks for including the pic of Tiger at the end, just as I was ready to bawl you made me smile. He is so adorable, what a great snapshot. Bet you can't wait to get back home to see him too!

My heart goes out to your Mom and you, and thank God you were there to comfort Buddy and your Mom. He was at home with those who loved him. I almost passed by the posting because I knew that your post had something to do with a doggy and sadness, which tears my heart out. But, I am glad I did read it, because your story is so touching.

I saw this on your fb dear friend. I'm so sorry, but Buddy did seem to have had a wonderful life with your mom and dad. Now he's with your dad.
I hope that your mom knows about the vigil on Monday nights. Every Monday night at 8pm. Just go to Rainbow Bridge's website, it's all there. It helps us immensely when one of our fur babies pass. We light a candle. It also helped the kids when they were young.
Sweet Tiger

Our 18 year old puppy died 2 summers ago and I still tear up thinking about it. I am so glad that your mom has you to help her. You are a wonderful daughter! My mom passed away 3 years ago June 12th and when she was in NHC I would drive 4 hours and visit her every Sunday after church....it's what people like you and I do, we care. Have a wonderful weekend and give your mom a big hug for me.

Linda, I'm so sorry to hear about Buddy, but I am happy that you were there for him to help him when his time came. Too often you hear of people abandoning their pets at the end, when they need us most. I am sure he crossed over to the other side with peace awaiting him. xo
