LEAVING ON A JET PLANE

Today finds me just bursting with excitement!  I am flying to Cali to visit my daughter Ashleigh.  I posted about her job with Google and her move to Cali here.

Ashleigh has rented a cute two bedroom house and is having a house warming and wanted to invite me!  I am so happy for her and can't wait to visit.

We will be taking some trips in Northern California to wine country, the beach and hopefully San Francisco!  I of course will have my camera and my laptop and will blog as much as I can!  If anyone knows of some great thrift shops in the Santa Clara area please let me know!!
In preparation for this trip I had to find a new piece of luggage.  Not only do the airlines charge you for everything you check but Ashleigh has this adorable little 2-seater sports car with a teeny tiny trunk.  So with some measurements in hand I went shopping. This is what I found!
It is a 26" rolling duffel bag
I looked at many stores and the prices were crazy or the quality was poor
This has the telescoping handle that locks in place and is so easy to move around.  It's Red and Black (Georgia Bulldogs colors) so that makes it fun
Here it is partially packed.  Yes it is made by Nautica and the list price was $260 which only a crazy person would pay.  I found mine at Ross for $45!
Not bad since the cheap-o one's at Target were $30.
I'm really happy with my purchase.
So I better go finish packing and head to the Atlanta airport.  This is my first time flying since the new 'screening' went into effect so I'll let you know how my 'groping' goes...not looking forward to this part.  With the time change I will be having some jet lag but I'm sure I will post soon!

Oh and one last Tiger photo...I will miss him so much!
He turned 5 months old on Sept 7th

Hugs to all,

Linda

We always travel with a carry on and if there are things we want to bring home we either mail them or buy another cheapo suit case and pay to check the bag. Sometimes it works out cheaper than mailing things home.
A couple of years ago my sister and I went to San Francisco to follow in our mothers foot steps when she was a young girl. We had a blast. We went across the Golden gate bridge , did lunch in Sausilito, saw Muir woods, ate on the warf/pier, took in the Ghirardelli square, and street markets, rode the cable car all over town, saw Toni Bennet's heart, went to Chinatown, and the Japanese Tea Garden (that's a must see), then we went down to San Jose and toured the Winchester Mystery House. A fun time. There is so much to do and see. You will have a great time! We just didn't have enough time to got to Alcatraz. See you when you get back. Take lots of pics.
Tiger sure is growing fast!~Ames

Have a great time, Linda! It will be wonderful, I know. If you just keep going, north from San Francisco you'll eventually run out of the USA and hit water. Just call me when you get on the ferry and I'll come and get you!

Have a great trip! We went several years ago on a California trip and it was a blast! Be sure to hit Big Sur and Carmel. Amazing views and scenery. I love Ross as well, great place to find great buys, I always get my bras there, great deals for not much money.
