Confession Time

Friends it's been 14 days since my last post.
Excuses?  I have a few.
Life seems to have gotten in the way of blogging once again.  This time it's not been anything big, just a busy life and feeling like I didn't have much to blog about.
I've been visiting and commenting but not blogging,
so today let's catch up a little.
My spare room once again became a dumping ground.  I finally got over my cold (which hung on for two weeks) and tackled this mess.
This chest was moved to my daughter's house and is now holding all of the new babies clothes(she is due in a few weeks...we are so excited)
Not only did I need to edit and go through all these boxes, I needed to edit all these shelves.
I bought this folding craft table.  It's small but fits in the area I have available.  Now on to the shelves.
I moved some of the glassware to another spot.(I'll share that soon).  Opened up some shelves for craft supplies.
This gives me some art space and storage for my supplies.  Not as neat as some have, but it's a work in progress for sure.
The shelves still have some glasses I need to re-home.
These shelves are a bit more organized, but again a work in progress!
Scrapbooking supplies came out of this room to be sorted.
I'm not making scrapbooks any longer but not ready to just donate all these items.
I find in a small place that I keep making a mess in one room to try to clean up another room.  My goal is to make my home less cluttered and yet keep the things I love.
(if any of you are interested in some scrapbooking supplies let me know...they are for sale at a cheap price)
Next up....this storage unit in my dining area!

I promise to blog more.
I have art projects to share and a fun road trip with my girlfriends!

Sharing this at

Wishing you JOY,
Linda

It's nice to know that other crafters have a room that looks kinda like mine! LOL. Yours still looks much neater than mine.

Glad you are feeling better.

You are doing what I need to do. I started decluttering long ago and still don't have it finished. I tend to just look at it all, and just walk off.

It's definitely looking a whole lot better now, and gives you some much needed space for your crafts. My room is always a work in progress.

It's fun that you made a little crafting space for yourself Linda, I think that's important-enjoy:@)

My entire house looks like your spare room right now Linda...kitchen and construction stuff everywhere! It's amazing how quickly things can pile up and get out of control. I have been doing the same thing as you...whittling my stuff down to things I love and trying to keep it all organized. I can't wait to get my kitchen back so I can continue this process. Have a fun time organizing!

Hugs, Vicky

Doesn't it feel good when we manage to get in and tackle a mess and when we are feeling exhausted we can look at what was once a mess and is now not a mess we can feel good, that is how I felt yesterday after tackling Tim's office

Hi Linda! Oh, I truly understand how it is trying to get organized. I still can't find things! How nice to have a room that you can use as your art and crafts room. Love all of your shelves too. I'm so excited for you and keeping Sarah and little one to be in my prayers.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Oh my goodness Linda you have a lot more energy than I do. I can barely walk through my storage room (and I do mean barely). Good for you getting a handle on things before they get out of hand. As soon as Easter is over I think I will gut my spare room and get started on cleaning up my mess.

Good luck with the decluttering and organzing! Looks like you're off to a good start. I scrapbook, but have plenty of supplies myself.

You are doing great buddy! Baby steps and small bites gets the job done! Speaking of baby steps, I can't believe the baby is due in just weeks!! Happyhappyjoyjoy!!

You are making good progress. I have several closets that need to be edited and reorganized. I sorted through all my scrapbook supplies last summer and gave them to some friends who were still making books. I kept just what I needed to complete a few books that are still in the works. I figure if I need something I can alway go get it. Assuming that I actually complete these projects.
Good luck! Blog when it fits your schedule. That's what I've decided to do. I can't always get a post done each week it seems, so that's just the way it is. ;-)

It always feels good to go through things and get them organized. I did a lot of that yesterday. I was determined to put my children's books in some kind of order that made sense! lol I sat with the sweet reader you gave me and looked through it again. You're doing great! It hasn't been that long since you moved in! Sweet hugs, Diane

What a lot of work you did! Woo hoo! It's always gonna be a work in progress, so keep doing a little bit here and a little bit there and pat yourself on the back for the changes you're making.

Seems like it was only a month or so ago I cleaned and showed my craft room. It is a holy mess now! I've promised myself to tackle it again as soon as I finish Easter crafting.

Your room looks great now, and our spaces are always a work in progress. Kudos to you!

That is such a cute dresser for new baby girl. I love it and in my head I can see so many ways to paint it but leaving as is works too.

I am thinking about making a quilt, my SIL quilts and has made me two so I have picked her brain a bit but until our bathroom gets done and a couple of other things, this will be on the back burner.

Decluttering is a constant battle. What to toss... what to keep... You're doing a great job!!! You MUST be feeling better to tackle such a big project! Yay!

You have done an amazing job of decluttering, Linda. I have just decluttered my linen armoires, somewhat...it really is a good feel...still have a long way to go, but at least it's a start. We are taking everything to the city tomorrow. It really is a good feeling to know it is going bye bye.

My office/sewing room is a nightmare right now, which is why you only see on portion of it from other rooms lol You've inspired me to finally tackle it though :)

Glad you're posting again!

And I thought I was the only one haha. As empty nesters our spare bedroom has also become a dumping ground and I laughed out loud when I saw yours. We even have the same exact table!
I just thought this week; how did that happen again. I really do sort it all out from time to time.

I can relate Linda. Every spring I get the urge to purge and organize. My craft room became quite the disaster over the winter, and I've been de-cluttering it. To the thrift store go the spoils. Looks like you're off to a great start.
