What A Week!

I have missed all of you!
The packing is going slowly
Making decisions is tiring for Mom and I know it's hard to let go of so many of your possessions.
She is trying so hard!

This is Sam
Mom's cat has been an indoor/outdoor cat for most of his 13 years.  However moving means staying inside and using a litter box (which he does not like to do).
Last week we found an injury on his back leg and took him to the Vet.
I told Mom that with his injury it was time to keep him inside!
We have and it's not been fun but he is adjusting.  Mornings are the worst time as he wants O~U~T!!!
He will hopefully live with Mom in her new apt as he adjusts to being an indoor cat!

On top of that early Sunday morning my friend Terry called me to tell me that her husband Dennis was having open heart surgery!  He had an aortic aneurysm that burst.  Most people do not even live long enough when this happens to get to the ER.  Dennis felt something was wrong and they called 911.  An ambulance took him to the hospital, while there they did a test and they had to Life Flight him to another hospital where they did emergency surgery.
Dennis, Terry and I are more then friends, we are Family!  Terry has kept me updated and as of today Dennis is awake.  They took out his breathing tube and he is having some problems but his outlook while still critical is so much better!
So many of you responded to my request for prayers on Facebook and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!  Please continue to keep Dennis and Terry in your prayers.

So it's been quite a week...oh and yesterday
April 7th was this little guy's Birthday
I can't believe he is three years old!
I talked to Tiger on the phone and he told me he would save me a cupcake!
I miss him so much!

I am hoping the rest of this week goes smoothly and I get some more packing done.

All your well wishes for my Mom have meant so much to us.  We have a timeline for moving.
I will return home for two weeks the end of May to take care of some personal business and see Ashleigh when she visits.  Then I'll return to Texas and finish loading up, cleaning out the house and moving Mom to Georgia by June 15th.

I'll keep visiting and I'll try to post occasionally!

Wishing you JOY,

Oh my Linda...what a week! I know it has to be so difficult for your mom to say good-bye to so many things. Hopefully the cat will adjust to being an indoor cat soon. Such a cute picture of Tiger! He is getting so tall...3 years old...such a fun age! Will be praying for you and your mom.

Blessings, Vicky

I hope things start to go well for you, Linda. It sounds like you have had quite a bit of stress in your life lately. Hope your mom's move goes well. Best wishes for your friend's recovery. Hope Tiger enjoyed his birthday. As far as your mom's cat, It might help to have some window seats installed so he can enjoy watching the birds and also just lots of attention will help, too. You're in my thoughts, Hugs, Deb

Linda, I know this is a stressful time for both you and your mom. It's a huge job, but take it a day at a time. I always like to say, "Little drops fill the bucket."
Sorry to hear the news about your close friend. I pray that he will continue to improve and soon be well.

Hi Linda! Oh, the sweet kitty. What a pretty little thing and hope he adjusts quickly. Still saying prayers for your friend, Dennis, and his family.
I know there is so much to do but sounds like you're moving right along. Prayers for you too, Linda, and your little mother as you continue. We're going to New York tomorrow for a couple of weeks and will get to be with our grands for Easter. You know I'm excited! Happy Birthday to that little Tiger! ;)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Oh, my, Linda, you do have a lot on your plate! I know what a huge task you have with your mom, having been through it with my father-in-law and with my own parents after a tornado. I will pray for much patience and grace! Your little Tiger is adorable and looks very athletic for only three!

Oh, Linda! Don't you just kind of find yourself "doing the next thing"....step by step. Without looking too far into the future? Seems like there truly IS strength enough to only deal with the present...(at least this is the how I'm living right now).

Praying for patience, peace and energy to match your all your circumstances :)

Having just done your own purging and made decisions prior to your own move, you have probably become quite the pro at it now.

Cats adapt ... better than people do sometimes.

Hugs to you and to Tiger on his birthday.

There is a cat litter called
"Dr Elsey's Touch Of Outdoors".
It helps outdoor cats feel comfortable with using a litter box.
Hoping your friend continues to improve.

My goodness you have certainly got your plate loaded and I remember going thru this - it is not loaded with good fun things. One day at a time.

Gosh, Linda, your task is huge. Glad you are doing it gradually. I know what you are going through and it is not fun.

God help you and your Mom. I think it's great that she will be closer to you. She is a trooper for agreeing to do it.

Take care and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Susan

Yikes, Linda...it has not been a good week by any stretch of the imagination! I'm really sorry to hear about Dennis, and I definitely will say a prayer on his behalf. That was nothing but God's work when he recognized something was wrong and acted upon it. A lot of men would have just dismissed it and kept on going.

I know it's tough for your Mom trying to pick and choose. I'm really sorry she is in that position. I know it must be hard for you to watch, too. I'm just hoping that things go smoothly and that she is able to find peace in having let go of some of her things so that she can start a new chapter in her life.

Happy belated birthday to Tiger! Take care of yourself, and I look forward to hearing from you again soon!
