I am having a fun time in Texas. Sunday is the big Birthday Bash!
Mom will be 80 on Monday and we are having a family lunch on Sunday. Children, Grandchildren and great grands, Mom's sister and some nieces also. I can't wait to see everyone. My daughter Ashleigh is flying in for the weekend. Sara can't make it (but really wishes she could) she and Blake will be missed. I will let you know all bout the party next week!
Now to keep busy this week I of course have visited a few thrift stores. If you remember back in the Spring I was here for a month and scoped out all the thrifts around here. I made some return visits and here are some of my thrifty finds. So the question is, what do all of the following have in common?
Here we have two plates and one S & P
Yes they are Fiesta Plates & Harlequin for the Shaker!!
Love them!!
Love them!!
Here we have two sweet Milk Glass vases
And a very cute Christmas tray
So what do they all have in common?
Guesses? I'll wait while you think about it....
OK, I'll give you a hint....it is the price
so now what do you guess??
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Ok, here are some photos to help
Do you see that??
REALLY???
Yes, my friends....each of these items cost
33 cents!!
I was shocked and amazed. I was at a Thrift shop called the ALAMO (I am in Texas) and I thought they had awful high prices. I saw a cute Pyrex baking dish (you know I love Pyrex) it was marked $9.94 and it didn't have a lid...oh and it's still there! Cute Mikasa plates, $3.94 EACH! Yep , they are still there also. Then I see a Fiesta plate and pick it up..what? Am I seeing this correctly? Yes! I just hit the motherload of crazy pricing and found all the above for 33 cents each! It was just that kind of day!
I am joining Debbie
For her fun weekly Yard Salen ParTay
And
Laurie for
Because I love Fiesta and I love Milk Glass and I
LOVE BARGAINS!
Always,
Linda

And milk glass, and that tray. The tray takes me back. It's great.
Well, yes, I'd say you certainly did hit the mother lode! Great buys! Our thrift stores are high....they know what we look for and they see us coming. I hoard milk glass!

Holy cow - who sells Fiestaware for 33 cents! I want to go there. Great finds. Enjoy!
.......and that's the sort of thing that keeps us on the hunt - that crazy once-in-a-thrifter's-lifetime mis-price! Glad you were there for it!
Sending Birthday wishes to your Mom....Have a great time
Happy Birthday to your mom!!!

Hi Linda!
Isn't that totally bizzare! I just don't get the thought behind the pricing. but, good for you at finding the .33 cents items. Hope the birthday bash is lots of fun and your mom has a great day!!
Maybe that place has a new pricing scam. We'll call it "Scoff and Switch". You see the stuff nobody would pay that price to own, and then you grab up all the great bargains you see later. LOL
Anyway, I think you make out like a bandit!
Wow, lovin' the Fiesta, can't believe the price! I've never seen the S&P's in that shape before-enjoy:@)
33 cents!! Too fun! Great finds! Enjoy your special family time!
Hi Linda..Sooooo happy you are having fun with your family. Many, MANY happy returns to your Mom. That is fabulous she is turning 80. God bless that woman. Have a wonderful weekend. Susan

OH duh...fantastic finds as always..they may as well have given them to you at that price. Cute blog changes too Linda..I love when people change it up.
Hi Linda...
What a fun post, my friend! Ohhh my goodness...I could hardly believe my eyes when you showed the tags on those pretties! Fiestaware at just .33 cents? I'm so happy for you, Darlin'! Sometimes we're just in the right place...at the right time!
Warmest autumn wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
Oh My Gosh Debbie! Every time I think you've found the best bargain anywhere, you go out and find another one or two or...! What great finds! If I tell my husband that it is a battle tour, maybe I can get him to take me to the Alamo! Thank you for linking these amazing bargains to Favorite Things Sat. Have a wonderful b'day celebration for your mother. Wishing her a happy day! laurie
Those are some fabulous finds, especially the Fiesta! However, I do have to tell you the S&P is Harlequin, not Fiesta. It is another line by Homer Laughlin Co., very collectible in its own right.
Well heck Ms. Linda, I think I just failed your test. My answer for what all your finds had in common?!?.....if "she" was transporting them back home from Texas they would ALL be broken by the time they landed ;) Yep. It's true. Some people blame the cat for broken china and such. Here in this house, we blame "her".
Can Charlie come over yet???? I saved him some of my morning milk.....and I bet "she" would warm it up for him.....
Purrs!
Romeo and "her"
P.S. Sending your mom a big purr for a happy birthday!
Wow! Can't believe that 33 cents! Hope you continue to have a great time and hope your mom's birthday is fantastic!
Great finds! Amazing prices!

Have a wonderful time tonight and I know your mom will be so happy. Wish her happy birthday for me. Can't wait until you get home.
Love,
sandie
No way! on those prices. Only in the great state of Texas :)
I know you're having a wonderful time - how special.
I loooove your gourd "witch" lady in the header pic.
Linda, you are probably enjoying your mother's party at present, and I hope it is a fun day for all of you! :-)
Happy, Happy Birthday to your sweet mother!
And you did hit the mother lode of goodies. What an insane price! LOL! YEA! Persistance pays, doesn't it?
Have missed you, and I look forward to blogging on a more regular basis.
Love to you and all the best for a wonderful family time!
XO,
Sheila :-)
Happiest Birthday to your mom...how wonderful to still have her. :)
