What's Up Wednesday

I have been busy my friends!
Downsizing is going well.
I've taken 2 large loads to the thrift shop so far and have another one to take tomorrow.  I've also sold several things that were taking up space and I have a few boxes of things for my church rummage sale.  It feels good.
No takers for my milk glass yet, so I'll either try to sell online or pack it up for the church rummage sale.  I have some nice pieces I hate to just get rid of.
Annie's Cat Tree is being sold.  She 'looks' at it and might get on it to look out the window once in awhile but I have found she is more of a race car cat (zoom zoom) then a climber.  I'll get my money back, clear up more space in the spare room and so it's a win win for me!
I ordered some new paint brushes and a palette, so I am ready to take an online water color class for beginners.
Skillshare is offering their premium level classes right now .99 for 3 months!
What a deal!  Check it out!

I've set my reading goal for 2017 at 105 books!  I read 100 in 2016.  I use Goodreads to keep track of my books.  I add a 'shelf' in my books read list for each year and it's so easy to keep track that way.  I also get reviews and recommendations from other readers.
I use to write down the books in a notebook but I find this easier for sure!

With all this warm weather I'm afraid things will start to bloom and then we will get another freeze and ruin our spring.  This plant in my house has bloomed and brought me much needed joy!
It is a Cyclamen and has bloomed so many times since I bought it. They come in many colors and I think I'll try to buy another one in a different color.

The Grands are doing well.  Tiger had a cold but is over that now.  He and his Dad did a Day of Service for MLK day and cleaned a very old cemetery in their neighborhood.
The adults worked but so did the kids!
They live in a great neighborhood and the families are really coming together to make a difference!
Scout is moving up to a new class in daycare and is very interested in the potty!  Hopefully she will be easy to train and soon!  I can't believe she will be two in April!

Annie Belle is a snuggley sweet cat and is not still long enough to take photos most days!  I'll have to get some of her soon and share!

That's about it folks!

Wishing you JOY,

Sounds like all is well! Today it has rained and has melted the snow--yahoo! My area is okay now and I got out today after being trapped for a week. Went to women writers group and the grocery store. Felt great! The store was out of a lot of things as delivery trucks have not been able to deliver due to ice and snow and road closures. I so look forward to spring!

This is a great post! Lots going on and good for you on the donations!
I'm excited about your watercolor adventures and will look forward to seeing your work. Do you read Vivian Swift's blog? She publishes on Friday and last Friday (and this, probably) she has another of her step by step tutorials -- photos of the step outs, not videos so easy to print off and take to where you paint. I love her stuff and her tutorials are great!

What a new year you are having! Enjoy!

100 books!? I thought I was doing great reading 20 last year! Would love to have more friends on Goodreads; I'm Leanne Evans.

105 BOOKS! WOW! You are going to stay busy this year! I read a lot last year but decided to bring my goal back down to 55...I think! I spend a lot of time reading blogs. Does that count? Blog books? haha! Hugs Sis, Diane

You've got a nice collection of milk glass and I hope you can find a good home for it, Linda. Pretty pink flowers you've got blooming, too!

Enjoy those cute little grands!

My mom collected milk glass. She had some pieces with those little knobby bumps on them, I seem to recall. I love that cat tree. It's funny how cats never use the things you want them to. My one cat would rather sleep in a box or a basket than a pet bed. My new addition likes the hard tile floors. We are having blooms too and I worry about another freeze, but I think a lot of rain is on the way this weekend.

Isn't getting rid of "stuff" great????

My husband said the same thing about plants blooming and then we'll get a frost, so let's pray that doesn't happen. Glad to hear you are feeling better to get back to your purging of items but I know you will find some good thrifty items in 2017 because it is in your DNA and you do find some awesome deals.

Excellent post, Linda. Loved the photos, too. Oh, if we were closer, I'd take your milkglass. It would be so pretty filled with pink roses, or chrysanthemums, or hyacinth. The kids, as always, are adorable. Have a blessed and happy Thursday! Susan

Sounds like you've been a busy girl, Linda. Good to hear that everyone is doing well and your clearing out process is coming along.

You've been busy! I can't wait to get back home and do some more purging!

That is wonderful that you're cleaning out and getting rid of stuff! Something I continually work on. I'm surprised your kitty doesn't like the cat tree. Two out of my 3 cats love the one we have. The third kitty, Zippo is too old to be interested in it (18 in April). Good to see pictures of your grandkids and hear a little about what's going on in their lives. Have a good week, Linda!

Sounds like you have been busy purging! Good for you! on your reading goal. That's awesome that you read so many books each year. I can't believe Scout is going on two already...time sure does fly! Have a great Friday and weekend.

Gosh you must be a voracious reader Linda. I need to read more, be online less, lol. Good going on continuing to clean out and organize. I watch acrylic painting tutorials on YouTube by an artist I found and like. You'll love painting, a great creative outlet and a stress reliever also.

Your grands are growing up! Nice goal to read so many books. I will be bringing a load to the thrift store this week. Feels good to let go of stuff!

Good job on downsizing. I am really going through things to see if I really love them or if they can go. What a great reading challenge you have set for yourself!

Great to read all about what's going on with you lately. Hard to believe that Ms. Scout is already going to turn two! Downsizing is a constant state of affairs, isn't it. One thing in, two things out ... or something like that. (You already know how I feel about cemeteries. I think it would be awesome to live in a neighborhood that had one!)

Thanks for giving me a little push to rid the house of some no longer needed, no longer really wanted stuff! It appears that you are doing a great job of clearing the decks. I joined Good Reads a while ago, but have not done anything with it. I have always kept my books read jotted down in a notebook too, but the online feature seems so much more practical. I'll head over there later today!

Big Texas Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

If Annie doesn't use the cat tree it is better to sell it....and like you said you will get money and more room.

I can't wait to see new pictures of her.

Your grands grow up so fast this is crazy!

I LOVE this post! Just a little bit of everything that brings you joy! You knoe if I lived closer I would be so grabbing that milkglass set! Isn't it funny how our pets react to things. I remember buying so many different cat toys and my cats would rather play with paper bags, straws and little scraps of paper! Thank you for sharing the link to Skillshare. I have never heard of it and now I need to check it out! I love Goodreads. I haven't set my goal yet but, need to do that soon. Thanks for the reminder!

Hi Linda...I just read this post and wanted to warn you that Cyclamen is poisonous to cats...I have two plants chewers here and I have to look up every plant before I bring it home...Cyclamen is one I would love to have...Just be careful if Anne Belle is a plant chewer!
