Catching Up

Thank you all for your kind words about the loss of my sweet Charlie.  They have comforted me so very much.  I will miss him forever but I am doing better now.
I had to put this little memorial on the table in front of the window where Charlie would always sit.
It has brought me comfort this week.

Last week I had to pick up a package at my local post office which is across the street from a great vintage mall,
Junk in the Trunk!
So of course I had to stop in and shop!

Here are some of the fun things I found!
I love this adorable pink poodle!
Pink top and teal flower frog oh my!
This flower print is so pretty!
Pink Milk Glass is hard to find!
How about another Paris print!!
Does this egg cup look familiar?  When I downsized I donated this and it shows up here for $ no I didn't buy this!

So many sweet things but this is what I decided to buy!
This pale pink milk glass vase and the teal frog!
Both on sale!!

I've spent a lot of time with family and especially these sweet grands lately.  Being with them makes me so happy!
 My favorite Darth Vader
and this sweet girl just made my Valentine's Day wonderful.
Tulips to brighten up the day!

I've taken a break from my 'Simplify' series, but will be back next week with more.

Wishing you JOY,

What a fun name for a shop! It was good to see sweet Charlie in your first photo. It always makes me feel better to keep my precious dearly-departed critters close by in my memory. Looks like you do the same thing.

So you didn't buy all that - you just bought the items at the end - I was going to say - whew on all the items. And one was yours? And I love your Star Wars guy - my little Will loves Star Wars too. And the little one is so pretty in pink!

Linda, so glad you are feeling a little better. What a fun excursion--love the pink milk glass. Ginger Grand loves Star Wars too, and was quick to correct me that the white masks "are STORM TROOPERS not Darth Vader!" Lol! Hugs, Cecilia

Oh they are so cute Linda! No wonder that spending time with your family makes you feel better. Love a good junk-antique store like that. I have one piece of pink milk glass, it is hard to find and so pretty. Just love your piece. Too funny about the egg cup. That has happened to me also. :)

I think the memorial is a great idea. I always get a photo ornament and put the best photo of my cats in them. Their faces grace my Christmas trees every year.
Love the name of the store--Junk in the Trunk!

You always find such cute things.

My favorite pics are those of the grands. I am glad that you have them to keep you smiling.

Thanks for Sharing Your Cup!

The Paris print would have tempted me :)
But then again, pictures and books are the LAST thing I need - running out of wall space and shelf space...
We, too, got to spend a little time with grandchildren AND (yesterday) a new-to-us antique mall!

You will always miss your sweet Charlie boy. I still miss my kitties who have left us, even though I now have other ones. I even still think of my childhood kitties sometimes! Your grandchildren are so cute...I'm sure they give you a lift in your heart especially when you need it. I *love* that milk glass vase. I collect milk glass...but I have never seen pale pink like that. Just beautiful.

I have those turquoise apple plates and container. They were given to me by my friend, they were her MIL's! So glad you are feeling a little better. Losing a sweet fur baby is not easy to get over, take your time.

Hi Linda. I know it takes time to mend after loosing a sweet pet. Charlie will always have a special place in your heart and you were a good mommy to him and he loved you back. That is precious. Love seeing your little kiddoes and love your vintage finds.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Linda, I just came over to your lovely blog from your comment at Rue's. Even though I'm only just "meeting" you, it brought tears to my eyes to learn you've recently lost your cat Charlie. We adore cats and understand how you must be feeling. :-( Looking forward to seeing more of your vintage finds.

Oh,Linda, I am so, so sorry about your sweet Charlie! I am crying with you right now as I can relate to how painful that loss can be. I looked through your past few posts and just admired what a handsome sweetheart he was. You are in my thoughts and prayers, sweet friend.

Hi Linda. I too am very sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. I wasn't aware, so thanks for peeking in on me today, our KP's first Cat Picture. It sort of looks like Charlie, if you want to print out a copy to place in your window for a while, I would be honored and would tell KP also. She didn't title the work.
You do like I do, not the P.O. as things are a traffic mess around the one I go to, but at Huntsville, Texas, where my dentist is, I try to stop at one or two shops like the one you have. The dentist is over 80 miles away as I haven't chosen a new one nearer to where we live, Katy, Texas. We were at Montgomery, Texas, but this is closer to our daughter, SIL, KP, and BP.
Charlie lived to be 18 years old, that is pretty old for a cat. Our hand-me-down Amber lived to be 19. She got to be pretty decrepit. We did put her to sleep in her last days. Adi, the beagle dog, and Katrin, the Toy Poodle, both lived long animal lives as well.
See you at Jenny's "Warm Hearts?"
