There are many kinds of love in this world.

Today I celebrate the love of family

Always there for me and giving me comfort.

Hearts

I am not doing a lot of Valentine decorations but did keep out my white Christmas tree and put lots of hearts on it.  

This was a good transition from Christmas and keeps some pretty lights out for several weeks!

Many of these pink hearts are the one's I put on my bedroom Christmas tree.  Moving the tree out to the living room and adding more hearts just made me happy!

Most of these hearts have been bought at after Christmas and Valentine sales

I've had this heart made from an old quilt for years

I have this pair of earrings made from a vintage bracelet (Betsy).  They are a bit big to wear very often but I LOVE them hanging on this tree!

I bought the pink Barbie shoe on clearance to remember the fun party we had (post here)

I also have my Princess Tiara and wand under the tree along with some other decorations!

A Lotta Love!

How did it get to be February 10th already?

I finally got out a few Valentine decorations

One of the cubbies mostly in RED!

and one mostly in Pinks!

I love this sweet gift bag and I think I will frame it.

I got my new shelves in the house!

Love them!  Charlie photo bombing while he checks out this new addition to his home!

I can't wait to get them decorated...but

I have been unpacking some more boxes and just sitting things on the shelves until I decide what to do with them.  THIS IS NOT HOW I PLAN ON IT LOOKING!! :)

One shelf has some ironstone and some white pottery planters.  

It needs tweaking but I do like these on the shelves.

This set of vintage dishes might be for sale, so I need to take photos to list them.

The desk will get organized also I promise. 

Just wanted to keep it real around here. 

I really do not want so much clutter but until I can decide what to keep and what to get rid of I have stuff everywhere!  I really am working on it.  I donated a huge load of pottery planters to the thrift store the other day.  It's a start!

We are in for another snow and ice storm so I should have plenty of time to work on the house this week.  My daughter Ashleigh is coming for a visit on the 14th so I have to get the spare room ready for her.  Lot's to do!

Heart Mugs!

In February we think of Hearts!

For Valentine's Day of course, but also Red represents the fight against heart disease in women!

This year many of the women in my family have had heart issues including my Mom.  Please read about the warning signs Here!

One of my favorite things are Coffee Mugs

and I love mugs made by Waechtersbach!

Many of you are familiar with their signature red dishes but they also make the most amazing coffee mugs in many designs!

 Today I'm sharing my collection of Hearts!

All of these mugs have been found at thrift shops over the years.  The two candle holders were also found at a thrift shop. 

Heart mugs can be used at anytime of course but during February they are a perfect way to remind me of those I love and to take care of my heart so I can be around for many years to come!

Valentine Decorations!

It's time for Valentine's Day decorations to go up! 

I'm simplifying this year! 

In the cubbies I removed the cardinals and added a few Valentine items!

I used several of my red pottery pieces

Last year I found these cute place card holders on clearance

 and used them to hold vintage Valentines

This is one of my favorites!

I like the cubbies but may keep 'tweaking' them!

 I changed out the plate racks and used four white ironstone dinner plates.

The wooden heart my Dad made me many years ago and Last years Valentine from Mr ALC add some color!

The black and red heart dishes were found on clearance at Hobby Lobby last year.  I added vintage milk glass plates to add more texture!

My friend Deb at @ Garage Sale Gal and I did a Valentine Tag Swap!  

This is what she sent me!  Isn't it adorable!

I finally finished mine yesterday and they will get mailed to her tomorrow!   I am getting into crafting a little more and enjoying it a lot!

After returning to the Vet's this morning they decided that Mr. Toes was doing so well he could come home!  He goes back Friday for more blood work and next week to get his stitches out, but looks like our boy is home to stay!

I Win, You Win!

I know everyone loves' to win a giveaway! 

I was so lucky to recently win a great giveaway from Kathe with an E.  A coupon for a free Mrs. Smiths Signature Deep Dish pie and (get this) 

a $50 Williams-Sonoma gift card!  Yippee!

I won all this before Christmas but you know how crazy my life has been.  I kept looking at the plaid plates but they were sooooo expensive I just couldn't bring myself to buy just two of them for my $50.  After Christmas I was hoping they would be on sale...but they are gone from the website.

So shopping I went and this is what I bought...it arrived the other day!

Look at this amazing grill pan!  It was on sale and I was so excited to get this!  I will be doing some chicken and maybe even a steak in this pan! 

I also found this...

It is this cool pancake pen....you fill it with batter (can even be mixed in it) and you can then do initials, or fill in those great cookie cutters or pancake molds with it.  I will take it on my next trip to visit Tiger!  I think it will be lots of fun!

Waechtersbach Designs

I love coffee mugs.  I like to use a new one each day that expresses my mood.  Flowers, cats, fancy, plain.  I also love seasonal mugs.  

I have all these hearts!

All of these have been found at thrift shops and yard sales.  All were under $1
Most of these are marked Waechtersbach W. Germany

The color is wonderful. 
Waechtersbach  (Vek ters bahk)
has been producing quality earthenware since 1832 in Waechtersbach, Germany.  I also have pieces marked Spain and USA

The designs are always fun on these mugs

The Panda in the center was a really cute find!

The Shamrock mug will be used soon.  I love the piano keys mug.  The little blue mug looks like something for a child.

I gave this one to Ashleigh and I use it when I visit Cali!


Some of these might be 'vintage' while others are not new and the patterns are still being made

This has been a fun and inexpensive collection that just sort of happened.  Do you have collections like that?
