Easter Tablescapes

Since I'm not home to set a new Easter table, I thought I would share a few from previous years!

This tablescape had a rabbit theme in 2010

I love these April Cornell linens!

In 2012 the rabbits inspired another table

Pink and Blue for Easter

This thrift shop rabbits are some of my favorite finds at only .80 each!

This table from 2010 was also lots of fun

And featured a place setting for my 'hoped for' Grandchild....

Maybe next year I can host Easter dinner at my house and use these fun place mats!

This Bunny napkin ring makes me smile!

I love the blue and whites used on this table

A simple but fun centerpiece says it all!

I will enjoy being with my Mom this year but will miss hunting eggs with Tiger.  

There is always next year!

Things are moving along here in Texas.  It is such a big job to downsize but we are working on it.  Mom continues to improve health wise and so we are on track to have her moved to Georgia by June 15th!  We will all be glad when this move is over.   I miss my family but talk to them frequently, in fact Tiger called me today to thank me for his Easter card.  Thank goodness for all the photos and videos his parents share with me!

Valentine Decorations!

It's time for Valentine's Day decorations to go up! 

I'm simplifying this year! 

In the cubbies I removed the cardinals and added a few Valentine items!

I used several of my red pottery pieces

Last year I found these cute place card holders on clearance

 and used them to hold vintage Valentines

This is one of my favorites!

I like the cubbies but may keep 'tweaking' them!

 I changed out the plate racks and used four white ironstone dinner plates.

The wooden heart my Dad made me many years ago and Last years Valentine from Mr ALC add some color!

The black and red heart dishes were found on clearance at Hobby Lobby last year.  I added vintage milk glass plates to add more texture!

My friend Deb at @ Garage Sale Gal and I did a Valentine Tag Swap!  

This is what she sent me!  Isn't it adorable!

I finally finished mine yesterday and they will get mailed to her tomorrow!   I am getting into crafting a little more and enjoying it a lot!

After returning to the Vet's this morning they decided that Mr. Toes was doing so well he could come home!  He goes back Friday for more blood work and next week to get his stitches out, but looks like our boy is home to stay!

A Christmas Brunch!

Life has been crazy here at A La Carte

I leave again tomorrow to help my daughter and family move into their new home!  I am so excited!

Today I also realized I have not done a single tablescape for Christmas...

no time it seems.

I decided to share a tablescape I did last year and I hope you enjoy seeing it again! 

In the midst of all the shopping, decorating and baking, it's good to take time to stop and have a simple meal with a friend or loved one!

Here is my simple brunch table for two!

The candle plates are vintage Harmony House and are snack set plates.  I do not have the matching cups so added a Sandwich glass bowl for fruit or grits.  

I love the bold colors of these Poinsettia napkins I found in a thrift.  I also used white handled flatware also found in a thrift store.

A red plate as a charger and juice glasses matching the pitcher and a glass mug for coffee or tea complete the place setting

A simple centerpiece

An Angel on a cake plate with red, green and gold ornaments and a touch of greenery

Vintage juice pitcher, creamer & sugar bowls and cardinal salt & pepper shakers complete this table.

I hope you take some time this season to enjoy a easy and fun meal and spend some time with someone you love!

Christmas Cubbies!

It's time to share how the cubbies look for Christmas 2012

Lots of the same items as years before but some new one's also!

The top is pretty much the same three vintage items that don't fit into the cubbies but I love them! 

The chippy elf, blow mold Santa and the very 70's choir boy and girl with plastic poinsettias!

The little Santa mouse is a new Homeco piece I found in Texas for 25 cents

A elf knee huger and a very old doll found at my Mom's house

 are also new this year

This Christmas record is new, found at a thrift store, I love the graphics on it!

I love this deer, new from Target this year

This book is so much fun and goes with 

the doggie ornament I had since I was young!

I love these elves with books and of course Santa giving the Mrs a kiss!  

The little train is for Tiger!

I do enjoy decorating my cubbies and I'm sharing them with you at these parties

The Cubbies In July

Here are the cubbies in all their July glory!

I have a cute Texas cute out, a Rooster who loves the USA and a great 'flag' made by my friend Kathy at Happy Mrs C!  She and her hubby Jeff are great and we hope to get together soon for some lunch and junkin!

Waechtersbach Designs

I love coffee mugs.  I like to use a new one each day that expresses my mood.  Flowers, cats, fancy, plain.  I also love seasonal mugs.  

I have all these hearts!

All of these have been found at thrift shops and yard sales.  All were under $1
Most of these are marked Waechtersbach W. Germany

The color is wonderful. 
Waechtersbach  (Vek ters bahk)
has been producing quality earthenware since 1832 in Waechtersbach, Germany.  I also have pieces marked Spain and USA

The designs are always fun on these mugs

The Panda in the center was a really cute find!

The Shamrock mug will be used soon.  I love the piano keys mug.  The little blue mug looks like something for a child.

I gave this one to Ashleigh and I use it when I visit Cali!


Some of these might be 'vintage' while others are not new and the patterns are still being made
I found this USA website selling mugs with some of the designs I have in my collection


This has been a fun and inexpensive collection that just sort of happened.  Do you have collections like that?
