Easter Tablescapes

Since I'm not home to set a new Easter table, I thought I would share a few from previous years!

This tablescape had a rabbit theme in 2010

I love these April Cornell linens!

In 2012 the rabbits inspired another table

Pink and Blue for Easter

This thrift shop rabbits are some of my favorite finds at only .80 each!

This table from 2010 was also lots of fun

And featured a place setting for my 'hoped for' Grandchild....

Maybe next year I can host Easter dinner at my house and use these fun place mats!

This Bunny napkin ring makes me smile!

In 2012 I set an Easter table for Two!

I love the blue and whites used on this table

A simple but fun centerpiece says it all!

I will enjoy being with my Mom this year but will miss hunting eggs with Tiger.  

There is always next year!

Things are moving along here in Texas.  It is such a big job to downsize but we are working on it.  Mom continues to improve health wise and so we are on track to have her moved to Georgia by June 15th!  We will all be glad when this move is over.   I miss my family but talk to them frequently, in fact Tiger called me today to thank me for his Easter card.  Thank goodness for all the photos and videos his parents share with me!

CELEBRATING WHITE WEDNESDAY

Today is Kathleen at Faded Charm's 100th White Wednesday Party!  I wanted to join in the celebration with her and all of you!

I stopped in a thrift store and there in the glass showcase was this set

I have been looking for a pitcher and glasses in the Harvest Grape pattern by Indiana Glass but they are always out of my price range

This is in beautiful condition

I asked the price....

$20

for all of it??

The details of this pattern are lovely and I am thrilled to have this set!

BEAUTIFUL THRIFTY WHITES

I have found some beautiful whites to share with you today!

This little restaurant teapot was found yesterday at one of my favorite thrifts...I wasn't going to stop in but it was half price day and well...so glad I did!  $1 after the discount!

 This sugar bowl and creamer were found at two different thrift shops and I was amazed to find they matched

Marked Federalist Ironstone each piece was 99 cents

I love the simple lines on them

These two were found at a little thrift shop in Murphy, NC last week.  Mr ALC and I took a mini vacation to the Smokey Mountains

 This coffee pot does not have a lid but I think it would be lovely with flowers or even a green Christmas arrangement in it and....get this, both pieces were only $2

They are marked J & G Meakin England

Classic White

This pretty glass jar isn't vintage but I love the design

 

 For right now it sits on my dresser

Not bad for some pretty classic whites!

RED & WHITE WEDNESDAY

I love Red and White!  Today I have some treasures to share!

This white Rooster was a recent Thrift shop find

 

The enamel pitcher is from my Mother

she said it was always on their table growing up

I love old kitchen utensils and this ricer has the best red chippy paint on it

It seems like I can't pass up cute birdies

I don't think these are old but I love them

and they were a thrift shop bargain

White and Red finds!!

 I love this milk glass dish only 25 cents

This milk glass dish was 50 cents, dirt was free

**just keepin it real, lots of dirty items at these yard sales and I'm showing you my treasures in their found condition**

 White planter $1

4 Fire King bowls, milk glass plate and a Little Hostess white cup

All this was only $4

This is a one handle sugar bowl 

This matches some dishes I found at a thrift last month

Again the price $1

A white Pyrex divided dish, no lid $2

Teacup, Free!  

Two milk glass hens! I kept seeing these for $18 and they were only going down to around $15 so I didn't buy, I found the little one first for $7 and then really scored on the large one for $8

I didn't find many red items

The two red plates and the Blue Ridge plate were all 25 cents each.  The Blue Ridge plate has some really large chips but for a quarter I thought why not!

This charming little sugar bowl caught my eye

I talked the lady down to $1 (My favorite price point on this trip)

Love this lid!

I also got this great rusty red and white enamel pan $3 from the same lady with the sugar bowl.

WHITE WEDNESDAY AND A CONTEST!

Wow can you believe that July is almost gone?

Just about a week from now I will be 

heading to the 

WORLD'S LONGEST YARD SALE 2010!

My first WLYS was in 2008 and I had just started to collect

milk glass.  I found several wonderful items on that weekend 

 and I want to share a few of them with you.

These three bowls were bought at different times

Two of them, the largest and the smallest are

made by the Indiana Glass Co and are in

pattern know as Wild Rose with leaves & berries

You can see the detail on this bowl is all on the outside

I love the little knob feet

 The details are amazing on both of these bowls

The one on the right I call sunflower but I was 

not able to find out any info on who the maker is

I have seen this bowl in amber before.  All of these were very inexpensive under $3 for the large and $1 for the smallest

I also collect egg cups and when I saw this milk glass one

I knew I wanted it!  A Lot!! 

Not $20 worth!  I asked best price, $10

I walked away and came back and looked again

This time he said OK $5

SOLD!!! 

The details are amazing on this little guy!

This is an old piece of Milk Glass and sold to me by this really 
neat man who had lots of old radios and man junk for Mr ALC to enjoy.  This was one of my first purchases!

We stopped at a large field and a few of the booths were really 'yard sales' and not dealers
this was 25 cents...yippee

We stopped where there were a few tables around a small store

Mostly just farmers in the area...I saw this piece and since I already had one like it from a Thrift store wasn't really looking to buy it

 until he said oh... 50 cents!!  Well I HAD to...you understand!

So now I have two and they are so pretty and useful

This piece was bought at one of our last stops
The lady had a fair amount of Milk Glass and I liked this piece as it was different then anything I owned.  She had $3 on it and we bargained until I got it for $2

It's a very pretty piece!
