Dear Friends,

The time has come...this is hard for me but I will try to explain the best I can.

Now this has freaked me out a little.  I have never been one to worry about my age, I am a young at heart kind of woman.  But somehow turning (gulp) 60 has thrown me for a loop.  Instead of freaking out I have decided to embrace this birthday and so...

This is so cute, Linda! First of all, I sympathize with you about your up-coming big 6-0. I was the same way (if not worse) about the big 5-0. But, you are dealing with it in such a positive way (note to self ;). Love the kitty giveaway and would love to be entered. Off to post a second comment~

Ok, here's my 2nd comment cuz i'm a follower. Those pressies are so cute. Our cat has those exact same treats - Whisker Lickins Crunchies - and she loves them. And she has not shown any interest in any food other than her Purina One (Urinary Tract Health) dry cat food her whole entire life...which is 13 years in June. No wet food for this girl! un-huh. But, she laps these up...I can't believe it. Charlie is beautiful and big. ttfn~

We have two kitties. George and Koosh. My life would not be the same it I didn't have my kitties. They are 10 and are siblings form the same litter.

George is the night time kitty, ans wants to be near when we sleep. Koosh is the daytime kitty...wants to be in your lap at all times during the day.

Charles is so cute. :)

No cats in my house. Two of the four family members are allergic to the point of swelling up! I miss having cats! Don't put my name in this drawing because those goodies should go to someone with a real live cat, not just memories of some sweeties!

Young at heart is a good thing to be! Sixty seems so much younger to me than it used to!

About turning 60...I am only coming up on the big 40. So I know I am a young one still. My Mom is 67...and I hold her hand as she goes through such milestones. She is not excited about 70. You know they say age is just a number...but there are times when that feels like such a fib. :) hugs to you. My Mom's friends that are in their 60s and 70s are some of my closest friends.

Hi Linda,
Believe me hitting 60 won't hurt too bad! LOL. I am hitting 61 next Wed.,May 12!

My kitties, Gabby and Gizzy said they would really like to win your giveaway. They are tired of opening Mommie's boxes that come in the mail. Because there is never anything inside for them.

I told them to cross their paws.

hugs

Dear Linda...Don't sweat the small stuff. AGE is small stuff. Honestly, it doesn't matter one iota. I've known older people who act YOUNG and younger people who act OLD. So just be yourself because you are a great person and fun, too!

Now, for my kitty. My kitty is Honey Cat. She is a true love and is a grandmother cat. We got her when she was a tiny kitten. She flew to the east coast on the plane with me from Arizona, her birth state.

She's survived a snake bite, lizard hunting, fights with dogs, freezing cold winters of the northeast, broiling hot desert summers of the southwest, and well, she's just a doggone darling feline. I LOVE her.

Take care, Linda. Love your blog. Sincerely, Susan

So cute! Linda you are so young at heart age will never matter with you! We have two cats Boots and Rose. The old man is finicky and so worldly. The crazy lil girl is a red neck I swear! She loves to watch the toilet flush. She lies in wait waiting for some poor fool to use the bathroom and BOOM! There she is! The girl is also a chicken snatcher! She ate my entire two piece, white meat Popeyes dinner one night, which is my fave spicy. She opened the bag it was in and torn that box open before I could come around the corner from...you guessed it, the bathroom! Took me 60 seconds to wash my hands and my food was never to be seen again!

Annesphamily said...

Linda, I follow you! I love the kitty giveaway! You are gonna be awesome at 60! NO worries. Crank up Bob Marley singing Three Little Birds and you will be fine!

Mollye said...

Well honey, sixty or 60 or 6-0! I'm just sayin.... it ain't nothing but a thang. The two things you must never ever concern yourself about after leaving 59 behind is #1 never even give your age a thought and #2 your weight is also in the same category. You can lose if you need but you don't need to even be talking about it cause then you set yourself up for a fall........just do it for you IF you want and need to and the age thing, you can feel as young as you can feel and who gives a rats ---. Just numbers! Oh by the way I want to enter. I'll tell you why on my next post!

Mollye said...

So ok here's the deal. I don't have a cat and I'm not really that into cats. BUT, my daughter Lori who is currently living in my back yard in her motor home is soooooooooo in love with her cats (she has two ) who are named Binky and is a Savannah cat, and Ooma which stands for Object Of My Affection that I would love to gift them to her! XXXHappy Mother's Day, Mollye

Hi Linda,
Happy early birthday! Our birthdays are close...mine is June 4th (I'll be turning 50). I think the "decade" birthdays do make you stop and pause and reflect about life a little more than other birthdays but age is only a number and if you feel young at heart than you are young at heart. I can tell through reading your posts that you have an adventurous spirit and probably more energy than most people half your age.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Jane

Hi Linda
Well, I think you know that I live with 6 senior cats and now my daughter's 2 are boarding awhile. Boy, could I use that give-away. My Sierra who is infatuated with our mail-man would flip out if the package was actually for her. She already gives the mail-man kisses, I can't say what she would do?? Anyway, put my name in there'cause I am livin' with cats. :) 60? Seems younger all the time. Hugs, Deb

2nd Comment - I am a follower and I have 8 cat mouths to feed so I sure could use some treats. lol

I will start my clock too for your birthday! 60 is just for you, 60 minutes in a week to have a look at your blog and leaving you a 60 secondes comment!
I do not have a cat but my sister who took care of my daddy, has 4!
So I wish to enter your giveway for her!

Linda, what can I say...look at it as you are a year closer to Social Security! I was told that you are only as old as you feel...some days are better than others...
Great giveaway, and yes, I am a follower.

And I follow you throught the 60 and more years, weeks, minutes, secondes to come!

Sandy aka Doris the Great said...

Hi, I am Tolouse, the cat who lives with the silly author of this message. I sure could use some of these treats because she does not feed me enough, in my opinion.

And a very Meowie Birthday on your big 60!

Sandy aka Doris the Great said...

Oh, just ignore Tolouse. If you could see his size, you'd know that he gets fed quite enough!

And for me, I'd love to me in included in the 2nd giveaway.

I have the big 50 in August and yes I am already thinking of something big to do to celebrate. So I am excited to help you celebrate yours. So this is my comment for being a follower and next I will do a kitty comment.

Hi Linda...why is turning 60 such a milestone...You know we talked about it at lunch the other day....if I could stop the clock before October 8th. I would...I think I would just like to stay 59 this year....Good luck on your month long countdown....I will be availible for moral support!! Sue.

Sherrie said...

My cat knows how to wake me up right at 7:00 each day....on the dot. Day light savings time messes her up a bit for about a week and then she is back on schedule. It is really amazing, but a tad annoying on the weekend when I want to sleep in. Good thing she is so cute.

YOU have GOT to be KIDDING ME LINDA? I can't believe 60. You look great, you really really do. You have more spunk than some 40 year olds out there. We would make a good team.
I'm going to pass on winning your treasures and let some other lucky gal win instead. OK?
Love your heart.

I am outside the USA though, so probably can't enter your awesome giveaway. But I tell you about my kitties :)

I first adopted a sister and a brother in 2006. The brother Thomas died in 2008 from feline leukemia, but the sister Bastet is my oldest cat right now. Than in 2007 somebody left a box with a litter of five in my backyard anonymously. I kept them and had to bottle feed them as they were so small and still have two females of them, Fiona and Betty. The 3 males wandered of. We adopted 2 other kittens that year, Ariel and Joey. In may 2009 another kitten wandered into our house and stayed. She was just six weeks old and right now she is a year old, our Miley. In August a car stopped at our backyard and before we could react there was another box dropped of with a mommy cat and a litter of five, maybe a week old. Once the mother had stopped feeding the litter we got her neutered. The litter got spayed and neutered when they were a half year old. So right now I have, together with guestkitties, some 16 cats!!
To my biggest sorrow my favorite {and personal cat} of all, Joey went missing in September 2009 and has been gone now 239 days, but I won't give up hope. Ariel went missing a year ago and just turned up last week!

I was tested for catallergy and am allergic to some, not all, but I can't imagine my life without my kitties!

I hope you"ll have a wonderful birthday!!!

You're just hitting full stride, Linda, old enough to realize how little we actually know!

We'll be celebrating right along with you!!

Congratulations on nearing the big 6-0. You will be joining a wonderful group of people.
(I have a ways to go, but plan on joining at some time.)
Ahh, cats - my house is run by them. I have several pages of them on my blog, but the most recently posted is named Vespa. When he arrived, I could not be in the same room with him. I would enter, off he would scoot - thus his name. Now he is my cuddle kitty. I sit - he jumps onto my lap. It took several months of ignoring each other, but we enjoy success.

Okay my son has a cat named Toby - he has real psychological issues. To take him to the vet to get shots - they have to throw a heavy blanket over him - grab it at the bottom and shot the needle throught the blanket. They are scared to death of him and can never exam him! He needs help.

I have had the pleasure of having some wonderful cats in my life. Currently I have two...Ling the saucy Asian Calico and Ludo the spoiled, chic, socialite tuxedo cat. She was suppose to be a he, hence the name.

They were both strays that I took in after loosing my beloved "biscuit" to renal failure. While neither of them replaced him, they both have such different personalities and mannerisms that make me happy every day.

I love this give away and would be sure to share it with the special fur babies in my home.
