LABOR DAY THRIFTING!

I did a little Labor Day Weekend thrifting and here are some of my finds!

At The St Vincent De Paul Thrift shop I found this plant stand
Just a plain wooden one but for $3 mine
I thought about painting it and putting it on the deck
But decided to leave it plain and put it on the screened in porch with some of my collection of vintage planters
I really like how the display looks
I also found this
I love tea trays they are so useful
This one needs some work (the awful contact paper on top)
But the wheels work really well and it is very sturdy for $7

These two little items were cheap!
The small glass apothecary jar will hold so many cute things and with fall coming I'm going to be using it in my decorating!
I collect restaurant creamers
and this one was 35 cents

Can you read what it says?
Chatham Bars Inn
Chatham Bars Inn has been Cape Cod’s premier luxury resort since 1914, delighting generations of families, couples, and vacationers seeking a luxury resort experience with the quaint charm and ambiance that is as old as Cape Cod itself.
Less than a quarter mile from the charming village of Chatham, one of New England’s most perfectly preserved towns, Chatham Bars Inn occupies a prime spot on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean—a centrally located midpoint for visitors to the Cape.
Built in 1914 by a wealthy Boston family, this remarkable New England resort, built on 25 acres atop a bluff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, recalls those days of grandeur that are long gone from other Cape Cod vacation destinations. From the spacious veranda of the Main Inn, guests take in picture-postcard views of Pleasant Bay and the open ocean, or settle into an Adirondack chair on their cottage's private lawn or balcony and savor the ocean view from this peaceful place by the shore.

I got this information from their website Here
I love Cape Cod and would love to visit there again
Maybe stay at this resort!
So how did this creamer make it's way to a thrift in Georgia?
I would say lifted off a table and packed in someone's suitcase!
**As Pondside pointed out maybe they sold this creamer, so I shouldn't assume.  They also have a gift shop**
(I found this creamer in a thrift shop and learned this info from the internet and was not compensated in any way for my post about this Chatham Days Inn)

SUMMER SHADOW

As we near the last days of summer I spent some time out on my deck enjoying the garden
The heat has taken a toll on my deck plants but
a few blossoms remain
The shadows caught my eye
Almost time to put away the bird houses
Patterns from the chairs
Remind me to sit and enjoy the fading beauty of summer
Still as one season goes
Another one will follow
I will look forward to the warm colors of Fall

WHOO HOOO PYREX!

It seems like a long time since I have found some Pyrex thrifting.

I stopped into Goodwill the other day and what did I find??? PYREX!

My heart actually skipped a beat when I saw this
1-1/2 Qt casserole in the Verde pattern!
Cost under $4

So I stopped by this other little thrift where I 'sometimes' find stuff and sitting in amongst the junk was
A white 401 mixing bowl I believe the all white is called Opal
Cost $1
(lighting was poor on this photo, sorry)

I also found some other cute things last week
 A sunflower teabag/teaspoon holder

Cheese dome and wooden plate
Should I paint the wood white and shabby it up some??
Last Monday I went junkin with some Bloggy friends and we met at The Classy Flea where I found these two items on sale
I love the aluminum and in bright green!!

I am linking up with Debbiedoo's
Visit Debbie to see what others have found on their thrifty adventures this week!

I have been experimenting with staging my photos and trying to get better shots for my Etsy shop.  I would love any 'feedback' on what you think of these practice shots.

TREASURY ON ETSY

I had an email that I had been 'featured' in a Treasury!  What is this I asked?  I took a look and wow how fun.  Someone puts together several items from different Etsy shops in a 'Theme'.  It might be color or season or decade.  So far I have been included in three!  I am so happy as it helps promote my little struggling Etsy shop.  I am sharing two of the Treasuries since one of my items is no longer for sale.

I hope to be listing some new items in the

IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER

Indigo is one of the colors of the rainbow!
I'm joining in with MISS JENNY for Alphabe Rainbow summer school.  This week we are studying the color INDIGO

Indigo is the color that is a hue lying between blue and violet

After looking at many photos on Flicker and Google I have decided that Indigo is in the eye of the beholder!  So this is my view of
INDIGO

This tablescape will have shades of blue and white
with 'touches' of Indigo
These white dishes with a blue pattern were found at a thrift shop
they have lots of chips but I loved the design and the were very inexpensive!
They are marked Pontesa Ironstone made in Spain
They have a Modern feel to them
I used a blue  place mat, dinner plate and bread plate in the Pontesa pattern.  I added another white bread plate for some texture and topped it with a cobalt blue berry bowl.
I used these wonderful milk glass goblets in a grape vine pattern
These goblets were a gift from my friend Mimi at In The Middle of Nowhere just because!
She also sent me some awesome tablecloths and you will see those at another time. Mimi and I both love milk glass and she was so kind to share some of her wonderful finds with me!
I love how these goblets look!
The centerpiece is a loose bouquet of
garden flowers
Not a lot blooming right now but I got a little of this and that
A few white flowers and some greenery
A plate for sliced tomatoes and a silver tomato server
White napkins and my favorite silver
These napkin rings are the one's I won in a giveaway
I received 3 colors and today I'm using the INDIGO
Don't you agree these are INDIGO?
Between blue and purple?
I thought you would agree!
Did you notice the one gardenia in the flower arrangement?
I hope you have enjoyed my table today!
