I'm joining Chari at Happy to Design for her Sunday Favorites Party
This was from October 2010

Mr ALC and I stopped to visit the Birmingham Botanical Gardens on Thursday!  We had a fun time on our mini photo shoot.  At the start of the gardens is a cute gift shop and they had plants for sale.  I enjoyed the fall displays.

I had to take this shot with the flamingo
Gorgeous Mums!
I love the pumpkins and other squash among the flowers
These orange pumpkins really pop on the blue planters
This was my favorite vignette of squash and flowers
I love this rack!

This caught my attention and made me smile
Honkin Huge Pumpkin $69 (???)
I'm having a great time in Cali!
I will be posting some of my adventures soon!  Hugs to all!

Hi Linda, I can see why you're having a great time.. had to giggle when I read honkin' big pumpkin.. lol.. wow $69.00 girl it would have to be good enough to bake with after carving it. The flowers are beautiful. I looked for Mums on Friday, the stores close by didn't have a very good selection, I'm hoping the roadside vendor opens soon. Have a super Sunday darling, more of Mary Carol's Open house later today.. hugs ~lynne~

Now those are what you call awesome pumpkins! I am so ready for fall, if these temperatures that we have that are in the high 90's don't get cooler...hummm, ahem, do nothing, but wait!
Great post Linda!

Linda, I am finally checking in on my blog, and I wanted to stop by and thank you for your kind words on my last post. Things here are still a bit up in the air, but we are taking each day as they come. One day at at time.

I love all of your fallishness. I can't believe that fall is here again. Where did the summer go? Seems like it was spring only yesterday.

Sending you warm hugs and many thanks for your friendship.

WOW! That's a big pumpkin! But $69? Really? That's crazy.

I could look at shots of pumpkins all day, and you took some really great ones! That's so funny that they call that a Honkin' Huge pumpkin, and wanted $69. There better be some gold inside those pumpkins, for that price!

I grew up in NY state and always, always loved mums. Mums are annuals in NY. The climate turns cold enough to wipe them out during the winter months.

Fast forward to 1989 when we moved to DE. That first autumn we put potted mums on the front porch steps. They were lovely.

The seeds blew into the gardens....which we didn't know until the next spring when mums were growing EVERYWHERE and NOTHING could kill them.

Yeah. Mums lost their charm for me then... :)

As I am reading this I have on the morning news which gives dire predictions for a pumpkin crop for Halloween. Maybe that IS going to be a $69 pumpkin this year!

A shame, when after Halloween, even before Thanksgiving, pumpkins will be GIVEN AWAY at every promotion and storefront. Even my insurance agent gives them out.

Wow, must be hard to grow pumpkins in Cali, if they cost that much! ouch! Great pictures you took, thanks for sharing with us. So glad you are having a wonderful time!

Those are such pretty Fall vignettes Linda. I love that old wooden box under that pretty iron shelving unit. Now I want to go out and buy some mums and then put some pumpkins around them. Thanks for the inspiration. laurie

I visited your blog today - I saw you on 'French, Pink, Poodles, and Pearls.' Your blog is so lovely, and your photos are full of life!! The Flamingo caught my eye, as my daughters loves flamingos, and even did a post about them. Those orange pumpkins are wonderful, and it is a tradition of ours to go to the pumpkin patch every year. Me and my daughters just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would really enjoy coming back to visit with you. I am interested in photography, and your photos have so much beauty in them. Hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.
