Thrifty Things Friday #146

Diann and I are so glad you could join us this week!

Yesterday I checked out my local thrift shops!
I have been looking for a china hutch or some sort of cabinet to put in the 'dining' area of my duplex.  I saw this!
Photo taken with my cell phone so not a great pic!
The shelves are great, the large 'door' drops down and becomes a little desk and it has two drawers and a closed cabinet.  For $80 I was really thinking this would be great!
Still I wanted to sleep on it.
Today I decided it would be perfect storage and asked my son in law Blake if he could meet me there to pick it up in his truck!
Which is where it still is.  He took this photo but the wood is really darker then this photo.
It is one heavy piece of furniture so he is trying to find someone to help him unload it.

Still I'm so excited to get this and then clean it up and load it up!
What is your latest thrifty find??

What Did I Buy??

It was fun seeing what you all thought I would buy from my thrifting adventure in Texas!

My first buy was...
This ironstone creamer~99cents and so cute!
It's smaller then you might think and I'll share where I put it at a later time!
Some of you figured I would get this..and I did!

Next
Oh yes, the Eiffel Tower shower hooks!  I've been working on my master bathroom trying to put some Paris touches in there, so this was an exciting find.  $2.99 and well worth it.
Many of you picked this!

Next
A few of you thought I would get this!
I love it and again it will probably go in the master bathroom.  It was $4.99 w/30% off!

Next
The Denver coffee mug!
I admit this was a 'ringer' since I knew only one person would think I bought this and it was Kathe, and she did!

BUT....I had some thrifters 'remorse' and went back the next day to pick up a few items I left behind!   I called Tiger's parents about the night light and they are getting him something special for his birthday so I passed on that, but I did buy!
This adorable frame.  I gave it to Tiger yesterday and he loves it!  He already put a photo of him and a friend in it!
Cute!

I also bought something I wasn't going to since I'm downsizing but then I really kept thinking about it and almost ALL of you thought I would buy this so well....I did!
It really is cute and was only 99cents so I just had to add it to my collection!

Now the last item I went back to buy was something many of you thought I would buy.  I looked it up on line and saw a new one would be $21.99 plus shipping so this was a good deal at $3.99
The Butter Bell. It says 'Butter' on one side and the other 'Beurre' French of course!  When the girl rang up my purchases and told me my total I knew it was too low.  I asked if this was on sale and she said no it's .99, I showed her it was $3.99 but she said, oh that's OK.  So I got this for .99....super score!  So glad I went back for these items.

If you guessed any of the original four items I put your name in the bowl.  I tried to get Charlie to pick one, but he was not cooperating.  So I closed my eyes and choose.....
Mary @ Ms Redo for the winner!

Then I took the names of everyone who choose something from the day two purchase and did a 2nd chance drawing.
Again Charlie was no help so I closed my eyes and choose.....
Sheryl....no blog, so please contact me with your mailing address asap!

Oh and Kathe, since you are the only one who picked the Denver mug, you will be getting a little something also!

I'm joining

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Thrifty Things Friday #145

Diann and I are so glad to see you this week!

I haven't been in a thrift shop in weeks and thought today would be a chance to visit a couple of my favorite thrift shops near my Mom's house.

A 4 place setting of Harvest Grape Milk Glass...oh be still my heart
A vintage Ironstone creamer
I've been thinking about getting one of these butter crocks to see if I like it...
they keep butter at a spreadable temp
What??? Eiffel Tower Shower Hooks!!
I love Pink and the pale pink vase is gorgeous, oh and look at that sweet little heart box!
I am always looking for fun coffee mugs!
We have lots of donut lovers in our family!
This is so cute and made me think of my friend Sue who loves to use Lobsters in her decor!
I still keep finding Paris items don't I!!
What a cute night lite...would Tiger like this?
How about this adorable Space frame!
ANOTHER Paris item
This cat & dog print reframed would be so cute
Who could resist a Twinkies cookbook!!

I had so much fun and I bought four of the items above.  Which four?  Leave a comment with your guesses.  I'll share with you in a few days what I bought and anyone who has guessed correctly 1-4 items will get their name in the pot for a prize!
Not sure what it will be, but something fun for sure!!

Tiger's First Snow!

In the South when it snows, we come to a grinding halt!!  It snowed today in Atlanta and surrounding areas.  Due to the bad weather my flight home was cancelled so I'll be staying a few more days with Mom.  Yay!
The bad news?  I missed Tiger's first snow!
The good news, there are photos!
Tiger and Mommy

Tasting the snow!

It's a snowman
It will all be gone by the time I get home!

Thrifty Things Friday #144

I'm still in Texas, a big Howdy to all
Diann and I can't wait to see what you have to share with us this week!

I haven't been thrift shopping much lately, but when I come to Mom's house I can shop here for vintage items!  This time I raided the jewelry box!
A few earrings and some pins!
These will be going home with me this time.
More earrings, all clip or screw on.
I want to get some made into new earrings for myself.
Necklaces, the pink beads are so pretty!
From my Dad's tour in Japan in the 1950's
A small perfume bottle and a sweater clip.
This small jewelry box of my Dad's was still in a drawer.  Sometimes it's hard to look at his things and other times it brings me comfort.
I love the cufflinks.
Many of his things have already be shared with his Children and Grandchildren.
Interesting watch face.
One of my favorite pieces
His Marine Corp Naval Wings.

So be sure to go by Diann's
and link up your post there!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda
