NASHCO TRAY

I found this very interesting tray while thrifting

This is a metal tray with a hand painted design
This angle does not show the design

It has a label on the back
NASHCO PRODUCTS
NEW YORK
Hand-Painted chip and alcohol resistant
The Nashco Products Co. of New York City produced serving trays from the 1920s through the 1950s. They were used for serving drinks or appetizers to guests or as wall decorations. Trays of the 18th and 19th centuries were painted black with handpainted or stenciled motifs; French-made pieces are known as Toleware. Nashco made circular, square, and rectangular trays, as well as bowls and vanity trays.

In doing research on this tray I found mostly toile painted trays
This one is much more Mid-Century Modern as you can see
and I would guess made in the 50's
That wonderful turquoise color is so popular now
This try will be heading to my Etsy shop soon
I'm joining in these fun parties today

IT'S SLIM PICKINS OUT THERE

I don't know about you but it was pretty slim pickins out there this week....now I didn't go to any yards sales this week, too hot and I just wasn't up to it but I do have a few finds left from last weeks yard sales and a thrift shop find yesterday.
A couple of pieces of pressed glass
I like the design and may have ideas for this piece
A cute little dish, looks like it's ready for a banana split!
Both of these were $1
I got these separately but they look good together
3 apple shaped turquoise dishes (probably from a snack set)
and 2 juice and 2 large glasses with a cute floral design
I also got each set for $1
A green planter for my collection
Not one of the best but for 99 cents I like it
I got four of these pretty blue and white placemats
at Goodwill for $1.60
Not bad for Ralph Lauren!

SEE MY FLOWERS GROW

I am joining in with TOOTSIE TIME
for Flaunt Your Flowers Friday!

This is my first year to really grow some flowers and plants in containers on my deck.  I am enjoying it and learning every day.

If you remember from my last  post I had one of my plants die....it looked like this

I cleaned it up and replanted this
A pretty white Begonia
I'm happy with it and it is doing well

Now for how the other plants are doing
These continue to Bloom and Grow
The Zinna's are doing well and tolerating the heat
A couple of new plants in this corner
This cute garden decoration is a Birthday Present
From my Friend Melissa
Pretty flowers in the shady part of the deck
And one of the tomato plants has
It's first little bloom!  I may have tomatoes yet!
One last photo
Wishing you a wonderful Friday!
Always,
Linda

V IS FOR VERDE

It is that day of the week that we join Mrs Jenny for Alphabe-Thursday and this week we are up to the letter

V
I am going to share one of oldest collections
all in Verde
OK
GREEN!

PLANTERS
I remember my Mom having planters on our coffee table with ivy in them.  The first one I found at a yard sale I fell in love with.
They have been very thrifty finds at yard sales, flea markets and occasionally at thrift stores
Most were purchased for 50 cents of less
My helper was making sure these two round planters were ready for their close up
 Mama these two look alike?
 Just slight color variations
I had one and a good friend gave me the other
The shape of this one is interesting
Different
But the same?
Love this shade of Verde
Chartreuse?
This one has an interesting glaze
 Fish scale design
This planter was bought 2 years ago at the Longest Yard Sale for 50 cents ~ it is a bright green and made by Shawnee

I like the handles on this one

Very art deco
This planter is made by Maddux of California

There were many California pottery companies in the
40's - 60's
Many of my planters are unmarked or marked USA Calif
These planters have a home on my
bakers rack in the screened porch
Hope you enjoyed V is for Verde
