ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR CLOSE UP??

I always hear.....don't do a post without photos?  why?  visuals are important.  We see so many kinds of photos and quality levels out there.  In an effort to 'get better' Tracy has been having some fun photo parties.

WELCOME BACK BIRDS!

Thank you all for your get well wishes!  I am feeling much better and even sat on the screened porch today.  

Glorious fresh air!

So this week B is for Birds........

Have you ever found yourself with a collection you didn't know you had???  That's what has happened with me and these little birds.

It all started with this little guy.  I got him from my Bio-Dad's house after he passed away.  It just spoke to me.  

 

It is made by Goebel and I love the glazes on it

 

I remembered I had these salt & pepper shakers a good friend had given me for my birthday....they look a little angry don't they

This cute little bell with a bird on top came home with me one day

 

Soon Joined by more birds 

 

and MORE birds..........it's an invasion!

NO, It's a collection!

 

These two are my current favorites.  I love the color and they are tiny and just too cute!  I got them in a 'junk' bag yesterday for 50 cents along with..

So yes I would say I have a collection, and this does not include all the cardinals I have that I use around Christmas.

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #13

Welcome to Junkin Finds Friday #13

I'm not feeling very well today.  A little stomach bug.   I don't want to miss our little party so I have one photo of something I picked up at the thrift last week.

I found this cute little cat for 30 cents

Could not resist!

RED & GREEN TABLESCAPE

If you remember last week I found this really cute snowman cookie jar! 

He inspired a tablescape! 

It's a fairly simple table, set for breakfast

I started with green place mats to pick up the green in the snowman's scarf

I played around with lots of plate combos but decided I really loved a couple of restaurant ware plates I have

that are made by Homer Laughlin USA

One in red and one in green

The patterns are different but compatible

I used a large white charger plate, red design plate, solid plate and white milk glass fruit bowl

The same layers in green

I'm using white handled flatware and a plaid napkin

The milk glass fruit bowls have a pretty shape and design.  I found both of these at thrifts at different times.  If you love something but there is only one, don't be afraid to buy it.  Often you will find another to add to it.   It has happened to me many times.

Cardinal S & P add more red to the table

I found this matching restaurant ware plate at the thrift last week for 35 cents

Here is my snowman cookie jar as the centerpiece

I added a red candle even if it is breakfast

Which made the snowman smile

Everything on this table was thrifted or bought on clearance (candle and napkins)

MY BOY CHARLIE!

Today we are sharing our fur babies!  Charlie is my 12 year old cat!  He is a really sweet boy! 

Pretty Green Eyes

 I have had many cats in my lifetime but Charlie has been with me the longest and he is very special

I saw Charlie at a PetSmart and adopted him that day

It was love at first sight!

 Here he is when he was about 3 years old

 During our last move to this house Charlie was a big helper....

 He has been known to hide in plain sight

  and spend many hours out on the screened porch!

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #12

 Welcome to Junkin Finds Friday #12

Thrifting has been a little slim for me but I did make it to the Goodwill the other day and found two items that I was thrilled to put in my cart!

 Isn't this the cutest snowman ever!!

And he is a cookie jar!!

Don't know if I'll put cookies in him but he will be the centerpiece on my dining room table this week for sure!  He was a bargain at $3.70

This next find made me happy, why?

It's small Christmas quilt with a train on it!

I will have a new Grandson by next Christmas

and this will be perfect for him!

I think it's fairly new? not sure but for under $5

I think this is a real find!
