So this week B is for Birds........
It all started with this little guy. I got him from my Bio-Dad's house after he passed away. It just spoke to me.
It is made by Goebel and I love the glazes on it
I remembered I had these salt & pepper shakers a good friend had given me for my birthday....they look a little angry don't they
This cute little bell with a bird on top came home with me one day
Soon Joined by more birds
and MORE birds..........it's an invasion!

These two are my current favorites. I love the color and they are tiny and just too cute! I got them in a 'junk' bag yesterday for 50 cents along with..

So yes I would say I have a collection, and this does not include all the cardinals I have that I use around Christmas.

I am sometimes surprised by how collections just seem to "happen" I have a collection of incense burners that I've purchased over quite a long while...Well it turns out I had three of them before I realized they were all the same. Just in different sizes...And yes I am a blond lol! Vanna

I am so happy you are feeling better sweet one. It is that time of year. I have been holding my breath that I don't get it. I just cannot afford any more illnesses. It scares me to pieces.

Ohhhh, I LOVE birds, too,and have a collection of them. Right now they are lining two windowsills.
What other collections do I have? Hmmmm, not enough room to tell. ha ha ha Let's see, there are 1) wooden Santas 2) dolls 3) books 4) the birds 5) crystal and cut glass 6) cranberry glass 7) photo albums (54 of them) and on and on. Ha ha ha Would you say I'm compulsive? I would! Susan

Love your cutie pie birds. Especially the fluffy light blue ones, they're so pudgy and cute! I have a lot of birds around my house too. I do not consciously collect them, I just gravitate towards them when I'm out shopping!

Those little white pitchers are the things I have that I had no idea I was collecting. Then, one morning I looked and I had.....a collection. :)

Those little baby blue s/p shakers stole my heart. I used to have one like the first one you posted. I loved his little plump self. Somewhere along the way, he was broken. Linda, I'm so sorry to hear you were sick, but I'm glad you're feeling better! And that you live in a part of the country that it's warm enough to sit on the porch! You've got a really nice collection of birdies. My Mom has collected birds for years, so I guess that's where I get my love of them too!

Your little birds are adorable and I love that angry look;-) I think collections sneak up on us. One day we buy our first treasure and then before we know it, a collection is born. My last post made me think about how long I've had my door knob collection and how long they've just been sitting around. It's on my mile long "to-do" list.

i seem to have lots of birds in my artwork in both my sunroom and my bedroom. there's something peaceful about them, altho i admit to getting angry when they wake me in the mornings!
