TOO HOT TO YARD SALE? MAYBE NOT!

Nope, it's too hot!  I am not going out to any yard sales.  I know that is where the best bargains are but I'm not going...it's too hot!  I know that people will be ready to sell cheap because it's so hot, but no I'm not going...no one is talking me into going out in this heat!!  I am just going to take a nap!

So....do you want to see what I got at the yard sales?
Franciscan Desert Rose
Now the folks having this yard sale were sitting in the shade
not wanting to move, and I understood as sweat was rolling down my back (no glistening here gals, I was sweatin!)
This teapot caught my eye and finally the lady came over and I asked how much?  Oh...$1 and $1 for anything on this table
Well HONEY GET ME A BOX
A gravy boat
Butter dish (marked made in Englad)
Divided Veggie Bowl
Large Canister
A chipped pitcher (who cares)
This very cute basket
I know it is a newer piece but I love the detail
Four of these decorations (2 were chipped..again who cares)
and A 'look alike'
Watering Can
Some are marked made in England, some made in Portugal
Not bad for $10 and a whole lot of sweat!

I found more bargains honey
but I'm too hot and sweaty to show you now
I need some sweet tea and a fan darlin!
I'll be back with more fabulous finds...
Until then please check out these other thrifty friends
With our sweet hostess Linda

Hi Everyone!

I heard in blog land that there were some good deals to be had at Hobby Lobby.  I went by yesterday and whoo hoo~ 80-90% off!
I found lots of goodies and couldn't help but load up that cart
Cute pink candles and little decorative items
Wall hooks~French Shabby Chic
90% off this cute 4th of July Rooster
Cost: $2.00
This metal sunflower covers the hole for the umbrella
on our deck table.... $2
 Look a Flamingo!  Another $2
I stuck him in my tomatoes
Lots and lots of tomatoes just waiting to ripen
Wait what is this?
One ripe cherry tomato...picked, washed and popped in my mouth!
YUM!  The first tomato I ever grew myself.

A Little trip to Value Village turned up some more
bargains and a few of my favorite things

Lots of goodies and wonderful low prices!
These are so funny and at 30 cents had to join my
Flamingo collection
I flipped over this cupcake jar
These tidbit plates were 20 cents each and I
found the matching napkins NIB for $1
These are from Crate & Barrel.  Each plate has a different design and a matching napkin....Score!
Several other finds: Pyrex refrigerator dish,
Old salt & pepper with matching vinegar bottle and
a orange juice decanter.  Some of these will be

Kensington Ironstone, England
There was one cup and saucer also.  The design is
a little different then the USA pattern
 These have a plainer edge

MEOW - C IS FOR CAT

Today I'm joining up with a really fun blog party....Alphabe-Thursday with
JENNY MATLOCK  so be sure to hop over there and check out the other fun posts this week.

C IS FOR CAT

I love my cats and have had many over the years.  Friends seem to think because you love cats you love cat stuff
WELL......I do!
This is a Vintage ceramic cat....It is to hold yarn or string

This is made by McCoy Potteries and I love this piece

I found this sweet vintage planter in a thrift store

This cat is milk glass and was won on an ebay auction

It was made by the Mosser Glass company in Cambridge, Ohio

This little guy was just too cute to leave behind

Made by Lefton and I paid 55 cents for him

This is a compact made by Estee Lauder and very collectible

The next cats are not Vintage but part of my collection!

This is another planter and I love the creamy white and pink

When I first spotted this cat, it was in another persons cart at Goodwill, they put it down and I swooped it up. I love the butterflies on this.  The lady who put it down asked me what it was for, I told her a pad of paper goes in  the slot and this hole is for a pen....ohhhhhhh she said.  Now she wishes she had kept it, but it's mine!

Cat mugs of course  (these have been given to bloggy friends)
This adorable cookie jar was a gift from a good friend

AND
of course my favorite cat...Charlie

This is a picture of Charlie from the scrapbook when I brought him home in Nov of  1998

Posing!
Thanks for looking over my vintage and new CATS!

Always,
Linda

ELEGANT BLUE & WHITE

never imagined how many people would join in for her  Tablescaping party.  Here it is the 100th Thursday and
so many people have come to love and participate in this fabulous event that it has become a Blogging phenomenon!
I hope you will check out all the posts for this wonderful
milestone for Tablescape Thursday
I decided to do an elegant but simple setting
in Blue and White for this celebration table
For a centerpiece I gathered some flowers from my yard used a vintage Milk Glass vase placed on a wicker mirror as a tray
with tea lights for shimmer
A hand me down lace tablecloth and a blue place mat
start each place setting
I layered white charger, dinner plate, milk glass lunch plate and a bowl matching the dinner plate
A blue water goblet and small wine glass
A dark blue napkin and the white napkin rings
I won in a giveaway and received these from Style Sisters
My favorite silverware was a wedding gift to my parents
Coffee will be served after dinner
The dinnerware is Blue Onion by USA pottery
I found this at the thrift and on 1/2 price day
The platter, creamer & sugar also bought 1/2 price
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed your visit to my Blue & White Table
I am also joining in with Suzanne at
Most of this table is vintage and thrifted

Always,
Linda
