FUN IN THE A-T-L

First thing I must say....WAY TO GO SAINTS!

Now, last Friday I had the great fortune to gather with other Bloggers in  Atlanta (A-T-L)!  We were invited to a lovely Valentine Tea by Joyce at Flour Power .  She had her condo decorated so beautifully!  I got to meet many new blogging friends and it was wonderful.  Sue took lots of photos and posted about our tea HERE on her Blog RUE MOFFETARD.  Please take a look and see the fun we had! There are photos of me, but really the camera put on about 50 lbs or was it all that food?

I won an AWARD...my first/second at the same time...how crazy is that?  Both are called Kreativ Blogger!
This one was given to me by Diann at THE THRIFTY GROOVE .  Diann was one of the first blogs I started following and has been a great friend and mentor.

The other was given to me by Carol over at OLD GLORY COTTAGE .   I always have a good time visiting Carol she has great junk, ah I mean collectibles!

Thank you to both of you.  The rules are that I am to tell you 7 things about myself...so here goes

1. I am a Proud Marine Brat

2. I've lived in 9 states: Texas, California, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Hawaii and Georgia...hmmm don't think I missed any.

3. The ocean restores my soul

4. I am addicted to Reality Shows

5.I have had five last names (not all by marriage...I could be a  reality show)

6. Sweet or Salty?  BOTH often at the same time

7. I saw the Beatles at the Hollywood Bowl in 1964

Whew...that was harder then I thought.

I am suppose to give this to other bloggers, but so many of you are award free and I completely understand.  I would hope these three ladies will accept this award.
Sandie at Chatty Crone , I enjoy her eclectic blog, it is interesting every time she posts!
Anna at Chickens in the Basement, and yes she really does have chickens!
Claudie at Bubblin' Over who is my Pink Girl, fun lovin and fellow Bachelor addict.

Thanks for the love!
Linda

SILVER SUNDAY - COFFEE OR TEA?

I'm joining Gypsy Fish for Silver Sunday!  Take a look at the other silver here

I'm a little late on Sunday joining in but it has been one of those 'days'.

My Dad had this silver coffee and tea service made for my Mother.  She has since passed it on to me.  It has been packed away for quite awhile now and has tarnished.  I promise I will shine it up but for today here it is

As you can see this is not your normal elaborate silver service but this is more Modern lines

The sugar bowl lid shows the interesting design

This is the teapot, the coffee pot is a little larger

This is the creamer and sugar...I hope you have enjoyed seeing my coffee and tea service.

Always,
Linda

PINK SATURDAY - VALENTINE TABLE

Happy Pink Saturday!  I'm joining Beverly over at HOW SWEET THE SOUND   Please go visit Beverly and all the wonderful Pink Posts....so many pretties to see

Today I'm doing a Valentine tablescape for two.  It is a casual but romantic table.

I started out with two very sweet heart place mats that I found in my local Thrift shop.  They are hand made and I love the fabric combination.

The plates are vintage USA California Pottery from Vernonware and the pattern is called "Tickled Pink"

I have four of these, the colors are pink and gray

I layered a clear glass plate and then a heart ramekin from crate and barrel.  I like how you can still see the 'tickled pink' pattern through the clear plate

I added some everyday flatware

A pretty pink napkin in a vintage water glass
and the table is ready

The centerpiece is a simple apothecary jar filled with glittered hearts on a cute little pink and red stripped plate.  I set this atop a small cake plate for some height.  Candle holders and pink candles complete this centerpiece.

The bottle of this wine is shaped like a cat and was a special issue for Breast Cancer Awareness.  It was a Christmas gift from my dear friends Terry and Dennis.

I love to use Pink for my Valentine's Day decorations
Hope you enjoyed my Pink Saturday Photos!

Always,
Linda

MEOW - C IS FOR CAT

Today I'm joining up with a really fun blog party....Alphabe-Thursday with
JENNY MATLOCK  so be sure to hop over there and check out the other fun posts this week.

C IS FOR CAT

I love my cats and have had many over the years.  Friends seem to think because you love cats you love cat stuff
WELL......I do!
This is a Vintage ceramic cat....It is to hold yarn or string

This is made by McCoy Potteries and I love this piece

I found this sweet vintage planter in a thrift store

This cat is milk glass and was won on an ebay auction

It was made by the Mosser Glass company in Cambridge, Ohio

This little guy was just too cute to leave behind

Made by Lefton and I paid 55 cents for him

This is a compact made by Estee Lauder and very collectible

The next cats are not Vintage but part of my collection!

This is another planter and I love the creamy white and pink

When I first spotted this cat, it was in another persons cart at Goodwill, they put it down and I swooped it up. I love the butterflies on this.  The lady who put it down asked me what it was for, I told her a pad of paper goes in  the slot and this hole is for a pen....ohhhhhhh she said.  Now she wishes she had kept it, but it's mine!

Cat mugs of course
This adorable cookie jar was a gift from a good friend

AND
of course my favorite cat...Charlie

This is a picture of Charlie from the scrapbook when I brought him home in Nov of  1998

Posing!
Thanks for looking over my vintage and new CATS!

Always,
Linda

SWEET HEARTS!

Today is Wednesday or rather REDnesday!  I'm joining Sue over at It's A Very Cherry World!

So jump on over after visiting with me and check out the other fun posts, you know there will be lots of Valentine's this week!

I found these three items at the thrift shop

I really like this apron.  It is a sweet chocolate brown with white polka dots and two cute heart pockets

It has this lovely 'L' on it for Linda!!

I love to have coffee mugs for each holiday
These heart mugs are wonderful

Made by Waechtersbach I love all their wonderful dishes

This wooden heart is very special.  My Dad made it for me many years ago in a home I had decorated in 'country' style.  He cut it out, painted it and I have had it for over 20 years.  A most special memory of a wonderful man.

So how may 'Sweet' Hearts do you have?

Always,
Linda
