MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

It's been a busy week here at A La Carte so I'm going to re-post last year's Memorial Day offering!

I hope you enjoy!

RED, WHITE & BLUE TEA FOR TWO

Today was so pretty and busy but thought I would stop for a cup of tea and what better way to celebrate Memorial Day then with red, white & blue!
A simple tray with a $1 place mat
I like the flowers on these cups
These were made in China and I found them at the thrift store last week.  They are in very good condition.
The little red teapot was found at Home Goods
The pretty white napkins are also thrifted

I am joining

Hope you enjoyed your tea!

FALL TEA TIME FOR TWO!

I have set the table ~ tea for two!
I hope you will join me!
I used a drapery panel for a table cloth
This was a freebie from my friend Terry
For a centerpiece I started with my wooden tiered server
I added some faux flowers to the bottom
Then an amber plate on top with a candle
Surrounded by the acorns I got on clearance at Michael's
One of my favorite teapots

These teacups, saucers and dessert plates were found at a small thrift shop.  I found two sets and paid a total of $2 for the six pieces of this lovely Bavarian china
So delicate and the lovely pattern is gold and green
perfect for a fall tea.  The spoons are my favorite silverplate.
A few cookies please
The cookies are on a pretty Spode plate marked down to $1 at Marshall's.  The colors are perfect for this tea time.

Something about sugar cubes and tea time make me happy
Please join me! Your place is waiting for you!

The pattern on the tea cups is Granada by Pontesa Ironstone of Spain.  These cups and saucers will be in my Etsy shop later this week!  I will be selling both sets and the bread plates also.

A DESERT ROSE TEA

Today the heat abated a little and I could breathe!
I took my tea to the deck!
I wanted to use my Desert Rose Teapot found for $1 at a yard sale
I have a teacup and saucer both thrifted at different times
The Zinnias are almost gone (heat exhaustion) but I found a few with a touch of pink for my tray
This cute bunny bud vase was 50 cents at a yard sale
Pink napkin with a napkin ring also from the thrifts.  I only have one of these rings but perfect for a tea tray.
I love the details on the teacup handle
This decorative scarf was bought at the Worlds Longest Yard Sale
According to some the Desert Rose by Franciscan Ware is the most popular American Dinnerware of all time and is still a best seller!
This company first produced this dinnerware in California, then it was sold and was produced in England.  The Desert Rose pattern was first introduced in 1941.  A timeless and beautiful pattern.
Join me?  I'll grab another cup!
