Thrifty Christmas Finds!

I love Christmas thrift shopping!
Always hoping to find some vintage items as I dig in boxes of random ornaments.  This year I found a few fun things!
This advent calendar was $1 and I added candy and took it to Tiger & Scout
they love it!
Of course Christmas books are always great and these board books for Scout were a total of $1
This Hallmark Angel stocking holder was .50 and is just like the one Sara had as a young girl.  So now Sara & Scout have matching stocking holders.
My two angel girls!
(cute story when Scout saw the angel and was pointing out eyes, toes, etc she pointed to the hands and said 'clap'...Love it!)

Now for some goodies for me!
I got all of this for around $2?
Some was priced low and some was in a bag of 'stuff' for .25 so all in all a good deal!
This is my 3rd JOY plate and I hope to find at least one more.  WalMart had these several years ago with different words on them but I love JOY and so finding another plate for $1.50...score!
The little Santa & Angel for .25 each
I almost did buy this Santa bank but he was marked HOMECO and only $1 so of course he came home with me!
Also marked Homco were these two Christmas Angels...one has broken wings but is still cute.  $1 each
Last, this little wooden head ornament
He is just so cute and came in the junk bag so a real bargain!

Do you like to Thrift Christmas decor?
Let me know your favorite find!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Thrifty Friday On Saturday!

I didn't thrift shop much last week but I did find some thrifty frames!
Michael's had frames for 70% off so I went and found a frame for the watercolor of Charlie!
I love the color of the frame, it is perfect for this watercolor.  I was thinking white or black but this frame is just right! $6

While shopping I decided to finally buy a frame for a large photo of a Paris flower market I took 3 years ago on my trip to Paris.
Sorry for the glare from the glass but I'm so excited to have this framed.  I'll hang it in my bedroom.  frame $10

On a junkin road trip yesterday I stopped at this filled to the brim antique/junk store!
Diggers come on in!  I had a great time and found a couple of treasures which I will share soon!

I haven't seen the Grands in a week so I'm off to spend some time with them today!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Junkin' with Donna & The Pink Post

I had a junkin date with my friend Donna (Distressed Donna Down Home)
We had to reschedule it due to my unplanned surgery but we were able to set a new date.  This time I drove to Augusta to meet her and see her booth!
We hit several thrift stores and antique malls during the day.  Now I confess to trying to take photos with my phone several times but it just would not work!  Too Hot?
Who knows, but we had a blast and as the day progressed most of my purchases had a common theme...PINK!
So here is the Pink Post!
This bowl was $1 and the decorated edge is raised and just so darn pretty!
This big stoneware crock is a lovely shade of PINK!
A sweet little Fire King berry bowl and an orphan shaker for my collection
This Hull pottery pitcher was so unusual and had so much PINK on it and was such a great price I had to have it.
A pretty PINK flower frog for my growing collection and I also found
this clear glass oval frog with large holes for candles.  Great prices on both.
These PINK pottery bookend planters had to be my favorite purchase.  A pretty low price and when I got to the checkout, 1/2 price!!  Score.

Donna and I had lunch at The Boil Weevil Cafe in Augusta, GA.  Such a cute little cafe and the sandwiches were excellent.  BUT, the desserts are out of this world!  I got to choose a piece of cake since we were celebrating my Birthday and it was a really hard choice. I finally went with the Coffee Toffee, layers of chocolate cake with a hint of coffee iced with coffee buttercream and dark chocolate genache!   Our waiter added a drizzle of raspberry over the whipped cream.  So this is probably the best cake I have EVER had!  Huge piece which Donna and I shared and I still had some to take home.  I would drive back there just for that cake!

Donna and I always exchange gifts!
I was able to pick out some things from her booth.  This PINK chalk board that Donna made and this PINK quilt that I saw on her blog and requested she save for me!  As always we had a great time!  Donna blogged about our adventure here so you can check out her great finds!

Blogging Friends and Junkin Buddies
are the BEST!

Wishing you JOY,

Flea Market Fun

Thank you for all the good wishes.  I'm healing and doing really well.   I should be back to normal soon!

Before the gallbladder/pancreatitis attack I went to the Flea Market and today I'm sharing my few finds!
This adorable vintage print caught my eye and it reminds me of Scout so for $2 I brought it home!

This pretty milk glass vase is a gift for one of my friends so I'm not telling you the price, but she knows I'm a bargain hunter!
The white planter was marked .25 so I bought it and the lady asked if I like the green one and when I said yes, she gave it to me!  Now that is a score!
She also gave me this plastic egg carrier and all these little containers that will fit in the box also.  Great for crafting.  It was getting near noon and I think she was trying to get rid of stuff even if she just gave it away!
I paid $1 for this little ceramic elf and I love him.  He does need a good bath though.  I also bought a few plants but the deer found them yummy also and ate them after being planted in my front yard!

The Grands went to the mountains for the 4th of July weekend and here are some photos!  I love these two so much!
Tiger painting! He did lots of hiking and other fun stuff and even got a chance to use his new kayak!
Scout had a great time exploring!
and playing with Boomer
(Blake's Grandmother's dog)

My friend Carter was here for a few days to visit and help me out while the kids were in the mountains. We had a nice visit and Mr. Toes is back here now!

Wishing you Joy!

It's Saturday!

It has been a long week as I got sick once again!
WHAT???
I guess it was just a little cold and I'm already feeling better, but my voice which was almost back to normal got hoarse again.
Mr Toes and I got some rest!

I have a few thrifty finds to share with you.
I've always loved clear glass and these little items will be useful.  The divided dish was .99, the refrigerator dish (no lid) was .50 and the orphan salt shaker was .25
Goodwill had this little cupcake plate for .77 and the bird salt shaker for my orphan collection for $1.21
This shaker had the oddest holes in it around the bottom which makes me think it's not a salt shaker?  Guesses anyone? It is adorable anyway!
I also found this cute Roseville pottery dog bowl for .99, yes I wish it was a kitty bowl, maybe next time!
Mom and I had a Mother's Day Lunch yesterday.  The complex she lives in has this each year.  It was fun and had a Derby Day theme.  We all wore hats.
No photos, sorry!  LOL!

Today I hope to get some house cleaning done and get ready to enjoy Mother's Day tomorrow.

Wishing you all a Joyful weekend.

Junkin Finds!

Least you think I have stopped junkin,
let me share my latest finds!
I love cross body bags and when I saw this cute one at the thrift shop for $3 AND it had my initial on it I just had to have it!
I found this sweet little orphan salt shaker and a ceramic pink swan, both only .50 each!
A sweet teacup for a future project, miniature pottery and a blue bird of happiness for my collection!  Bargains all!
Habitat for Humanity had this grey planter for $1.99 and I love the shape.  I'll be looking in my books hoping to find a maker as the only mark is USA.
I haven't been buying Pyrex, in fact I downsized my collection, but finding this casserole that matches another piece I have was a great deal at $4
My latest find was this great shelving unit for $9
It is perfect under my window for plants, pottery and books!  I am always looking for pieces that are multi-functional.

Thank you for all the sweet comments about my Grands and my family.  I am a very blessed lady!

Wishing you JOY,
Linda

Junkin Finds!

The downsizing continues, but of course I do find little things I just need to bring home.  Once a junker, always a junker!
I needed a small cooler for car trips and outings with the Grands and this blue one fit the bill for $2.  The mixing bowl is a great size and the red bag is a wreath holder for .99!!
I'm always looking for jars for storage!
An old Nancy Drew book for .25 for my friend Donna, a cute vintage tea bag holder, decorative scissors and random wine corks.

Love this fun mug for .55 at Goodwill.  I found some online for $10+...which is crazy to me!
This Xtra Large blue bag was .99 and will hold my new white Christmas tree that will not fit back into it's box.
Books for .25 each are always a great buy.
While thrift shopping with Donna awhile ago, she told me that no donkey is ever left behind.  This one is so little and cute so he did come home with me for .49
The pollen is really giving me headaches but I'm glad that Spring is here.  I'm starting to work on downsizing some more of my collections.  I'll be sharing some of that soon.  I've been spending lots of time with these two and loving every moment of it!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Catching Up

Thank you all for your kind words about the loss of my sweet Charlie.  They have comforted me so very much.  I will miss him forever but I am doing better now.
I had to put this little memorial on the table in front of the window where Charlie would always sit.
It has brought me comfort this week.

Last week I had to pick up a package at my local post office which is across the street from a great vintage mall,
Junk in the Trunk!
So of course I had to stop in and shop!

Here are some of the fun things I found!
I love this adorable pink poodle!
Turquoise!
Pink top and teal flower frog oh my!
This flower print is so pretty!
Pink Milk Glass is hard to find!
How about another Paris print!!
Does this egg cup look familiar?  When I downsized I donated this and it shows up here for $10...so no I didn't buy this!

So many sweet things but this is what I decided to buy!
This pale pink milk glass vase and the teal frog!
Both on sale!!

I've spent a lot of time with family and especially these sweet grands lately.  Being with them makes me so happy!
 My favorite Darth Vader
and this sweet girl just made my Valentine's Day wonderful.
Tulips to brighten up the day!

I've taken a break from my 'Simplify' series, but will be back next week with more.

Wishing you JOY,

Linda
