WOW...a week until Christmas!
This month is flying by!
Last week I stopped at a yard sale and found all these goodies. I think many of them will be used for crafting and they were cheap!
2 glitter bells, 2 birdhouses, 2 sleighs, a vintage Santa and a Bubble light replacement bulb!
All for $1.00
Then I went to my favorite thrift shop and found these vintage ornaments
Cool little plastic whirly ornaments...I've never seen any like them, but they just say 60's?
What do you think?
The bag of these was also $1
I was also lucky enough to meet my Atlanta blogging friends for a fun lunch!
I haven't seen these ladies in a year and that is way too long!
We ate at Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant
I had chicken Piccata and it was delicious!
Now what's this about Aruba??
My amazing daughter Ashleigh contacted me after Thanksgiving and asked if I'd like to go with her on a little vacation before Christmas...
Without even knowing where I said YES!
Then she said...ARUBA!
I must admit I didn't know exactly where Aruba was but I knew it was an island and had beaches
It is in the Caribbean Sea and right off the coast of Venezuela
Ashleigh has us staying at a hotel right on the beach. FIVE full days! I am so happy.
She said after the year I've had she knew I could use a vacation and she always tries to be somewhere sunny and warm before Christmas!
I am sure I will feel this way soon!
Charlie will be taken care of by his favorite cat sitter my good friend Donna!
As you can see he isn't real concerned....right now that is. He does hate when I'm gone but I told him this would make me a much better kitty mama.
Rest, relax, read and oh yes an exotic drink or two won't hurt. Time with my oldest girl child is a bonus. We will be back for Christmas of course!
I might blog or I might not...who knows.
I will take photos I'm sure!
See you soon!

Have a fabulous time, Linda. Well deserved R&R. Aruba is very beautiful, sort of like a desert feel, but beautiful. Nice gentle trade winds all the time. I stayed at LaCabana for two weeks in 2003. Enjoy!
Enjoy your time in sun! Take a cue from Charlie. Sleep whenever the mood strikes lol! Merry Christmas dear friend!!
Have a fun time with your daughter, Linda. What a lovely Christmas gift. Charlie will just have to count the days 'til you are home. Tell your sitter since it is the Christmas season he'll have to have a little extra cuddles. Enjoy! Deb
You are so blessed with those two girls - have fun - and think of us all here in the cold!
Oh my goodness - I haven't seen any of those twirly ornaments in forever!! Yes they do date back to the late 50's/early 60's - you placed them above a light bulb and heat from the bulb made then spin -- great memories! Have a wonderful time on your trip!
I love those plastic whirly ornaments. My grandma always had them on her tree. Back when Christmas lights gave off heat - she'd hang these ornaments over a bulb, and the heat off the light would cause the fan in the ornament to spin.
Hi Linda! Oh, I'm so happy for you and you'll love Aruba. We've been on cruises. You have the sweetest daughter to take such good care of her mama! :) Now I do love your little Christmasy things you've found. Just have fun and don't worry about blogging - you can show us pix when you get back! Have a ball!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Love your bargains! So much fun! Have a wonderful sunny trip! Five days on the beach is simply the best!

Oh Linda, what an incredible gift!!! I am sure you will have a fabulous time with your daughter! So happy for you!! I can't wait to see your photos when you return! Happy Christmas to you :)
Linda, have a grand time! I wonder if the little whirly ornaments are meant to hang above the Christmas lights that were used in the 50s and 60s. You know the kind that put off lots of heat! ;-) The heat might cause the blades to whirl around.
Love the photo of Charlie under the tree. Makes me smile!
Merry Christmas, my friend! ~ Sarah
Wow! Aruba should be a lot of fun! Have a great trip! Merry Christmas!
