When Kathleen challenged us to use purple for a Fall Tablescape (no orange!!), I knew I was in trouble. Purple is not a color I use much at all.
I do have two lunch plates a friend gave me that I love so I went from there.
I used green as my other color and started searching for the items in my stash
to pull together this table.
When I found these purple place mats I bought at the Dollar Tree last summer, I was so happy. The green plates are some of my basics that I use all the time
Then I added these pretty purple lunch plates
I have matching soup bowls but went with green to add the last layer
The green glass adds another texture to the plate stack.
I added a vintage green stem and the purple glass (also from the Dollar Tree bought for this tablescape) to add both colors to the place setting
Green handled flatware from my closet but the napkins are 'new'. I didn't have anything in my linens that worked so off to the thrift I went. I found these purple napkins 4/.99 except they were 1/2 price...yes only .49! The wire and green bead napkin rings are also from my tablescaping supplies.
I'm happy with how this turned out!
Now for a centerpiece...not as easy!
I bought the purple vase for .10 and already had the purple votive holders. A green plant for some color and texture.
The green glass owl is a new addition to my Fall decor.
My goal in these tablescaping challenges is to spend as little as possible and use what I have. So I spent less then $5 on new items just for this table.

Your tablescape came out perfectly lovely. The green and purple look wonderful together. Great job on meeting Kathleen's challenge.... Candy
How lovely! You did great with purple not being a color you use often. xo Nellie
Those two colours together are really nice. Your table looks very inviting. Thanks for dropping by tonight. I appreciate your comment and hope that I can keep the old blog interesting for everyone without cat-sitting over the winter. It could be a bit of work but hey...we all love a challenge. Hugs, Deb
Oh Linda, everything looks soooo pretty. You did a great job of mixing and matching with the greens. Loved all! Susan
Great table Linda! Love your sweet purple plates and your new "pricey" napkins. :) I love green , it looks so good with so many colors. The green and purple work well together. Sweet owl too!
You certainly met your goal and your tablescape looks lovely.

Linda, for not having much in the way of purple, your table came out fantastic...love those salad plates. What a great deal on the napkins. The napkin rings are right up my alley, they are green!
Have a great week.
I love the greens and purples they are great opposite colors that go very well together and your table reflects this .What would we do without Dollar tree stores?I wish they carried pink glassware.Susie
Absolutely love the purple and green together! Wasn't this a fun challenge? I especially love your salad plates! Very nice table!! Rosie @ The Magic Hutch
Great score on the napkins Linda, they look nice and soft too! Pretty table:@)
Looks great, and I love those napkins! The plates are lovely.
Those purple place mats are very cute! I have a circular table so I like finding mats like these. Love your pretty things! Happy Fall Sis!
I have the same goal with the challenges. That's why I ended up quitting on this one. LOL. Honestly, I tried and tried but never liked my table and was too cheap to spend money to make me like it. I love what you put together. It's just lovely!
Wow you did a great job and I can't believe the price on the thrifted pieces! I never have that kind of luck! Great color choices! It was a bit challenging since I own very little in the purple department! I like your header- I bet you dream about Paris a lot now that you've been there!
Perfection done on the cheap! I love it Linda! You crushed this challenge! Now...about that owl... ;-)
The purple and green are so lovely together. I love that you were able to pull it off so inexpensively. It looks sooo pretty.
You sure know how to set a table Linda. I love this color combination...who needs orange anyway? You know I'm loving the thrifty price tag too.
Very pretty! I would have trouble finding purple, too! I love how you mixed it with the green tones...perfect for fall! Love the little owl!
Beautiful table, Linda! Thrifts around here have cwap and are a bit pricey. 😉. You scored some nice things.
I love purple and don't have a thing in my house purple. When I was first married years ago we bought new purple sofa and large chair to match it was a high back Chippendale style. I loved it
you did really good with your table settings green and purple compliment each other well
I love love love purple....
Very, very pretty! I would've never thought of purple for autumn, but it looks just wonderful! And of course you ARE the thrifty queen!
I love everything! I cannot believe the placemats are from the dollar store! I love my dollar store, however, never found anything like them there! Looks so pretty...beautiful setting, Linda!
Great job!! The owl is adorable. I almost went with green as my other color but I did not have enough!
I have nothing purple in my house other than flowers.
You sure pulled together a great table.
Great job on this table, Linda! I just had four lavender plates for this challenge so I hit the Dollar stores to add more purple on a budget. I even snatched the fitted sheet off my daughter's bed for the tablecloth. I love a challenge that makes you look around for what you have on hand. I LOVE your purple plates! They are so pretty!!
You did a great purple table...it all looks sooo good.
I don't have a thing purple so I skipped this tablescape. Hope to do the next.
Hi Linda! Oh, this is really pretty! I love how you've used the green with the purple! So nice! Love that little owl too.

Your table turned out beautiful Linda! I did a fall tablescape using purple and green a couple of years ago and I loved it! Of course it helps that purple is my fav color! Love it a!ll
What a nice combination of the purple and green. You don't think of purple as being a fall color - but it looks great with the green.
Love it Linda! Those purple plates are beautiful and I love them with the green. Love the glassware too...the vintage and new! Great job! I'll be happy to get a bigger table built so I can tablescape again. Have a blessed weekend!
Hugs, Vicky
And there you go! I don't know why so many shy away from the challenge. White plates and purple accoutrements would be fine. And then there's always purple spray paint, lol! Love your thrifted napkins and you can use them with so many colors, great find! Thanks for being brave and taking the challenge!
I just love your purple and green table, Linda, and you really did capture the feeling of fall using a non-traditional color. Kudos!
Cheryl
