In the thrifting world sometimes you are just in the right place at the right time. This happened to me a few weeks ago. When I saw this I literally gasped and could not get my hands on it fast enough!
A train for Tiger
Handmade
Beautiful wood
Amazing construction
Sitting on a table at Value Village Thrift Shop
I started picking up the pieces looking for a price
although I knew it was mine...well Tiger's!
The price $5.85
Yes you read that right! I was beyond excited and happy. Perfect for under the Christmas tree and perfect for a little boy to play with.
Saturday I went to visit and babysit Tiger so his Mommy and Daddy could have a date night, but first Tiger got his train
Daddy was putting on his socks (almost the only time he is still) so he doesn't look so happy, but he loves the train
He looks like he is saying Grandma save me from the socks...he does not like anything on his feet like most babies
There's my sweet boy! He especially likes the piece that has the blocks on it!
We had a great night playing with the train, blocks and other toys. Tiger has grown so much and is now 8 months old.
He loves to play under the tree and gazes at the lights and gently touches them. I am so thankful to have this time with this beautiful child. He reminds me what Christmas is all about...
LOVE!!!

Ah, his smiles melt my heart! I just love when a grandchild, however old, enjoys your company and you his. These times go so fast. Hugs, Jeanie
I'm in love with his big brown eyes, my boy has them too and he can still melt my heart, even when he's just done something ... well, not quite right. Love your train, it's wood color is beautiful, and the shapes are perfect. Tiger will have many years playing with this great thrifted find.

That train is the kind that will last forever & be a treasured childhood keepsake. Tiger is getting cuter & cuter every day!
He is really sweet! What a great grandma he has, thinking of him with such a beautiful train set!
Linda, what a buy on that great wooden train. I know he loves it.
So cute!
You got a great deal on the wooden train. I have one I was going to pass on to my youngest Grand, but I may wait another year or so, as there are to many pieces I think she can break off and put in her mouth.
Hope you are enjoying the holidays.
What a perfect thrift store find! He is sooo cute! love this.
My that boy is getting big. I spy two front teeth. Well little miss Lily is only scooting backwards, but she has two front teeth too. She was born three weeks early so not bad for a peanut. The train is adorable and the price was great!~Ames
He is such a cutie pie. I'm glad you found the train for him. I love wooden toys like that.
Oh my goodness, he is adorable. I can remember buying the grandson one when he was that age. I still have it, my Bailey is now 11 and still pulls it out at times.. hugs ~lynne~
He is such a cutie! What a great deal on that choo choo too!
Eight months old already???? My, how time flies. They definitely don't stay babies for very long. I see the little cutie is sprouting teeth, too.
That was a good find! And look at that happy little face.
I like your Christmas photos below!

Linda, he really and truly is an adorable child. He is SO HANDSOME.Oh, your heart must be so filled with love for him, as I can well imagine. Thanks for sharing. And the train is great, too. Susan
What a cutie pie!!
Oh my goodness, Linda - - - I have a little "pull" toy wooden train very similar to that!!! I bought it NEW when our oldest was young - - - he's 30 now!
Maybe I'll take a picture of mine and "display" it on here.
I keep mine in my Christmas decorations. When I have a tree, it is under the tree. This year since I'm treeless, mine is down "doing laps" around the electric fireplace in my football cave!
O, he's growing so fast...and getting cuter by the second.:)
Love his little train. Hope he saves it and gives it to HIS little grandson, someday. :)

What a great find Linda! Love thse "Right time and place moments"! And this is something that will be a treasure Tiger will enjoy for years! He is so sweet and just growing like a weed!
What a cutie and I adore all the classic toys. So many kids never get to enjoy the ones that stretch their imagination.
My kids' loved to play with big old boxes that I painted to look like buildings or appliances..
Some day a grandchild for me too I hope. Just not too soon. :D

Your post brought happy tears to my eyes this morning, Linda. Tiger is simply one of the most adorable babies I've ever seen. I love to read what you write about him and your time with him.
I hope you all have a beautifully wonderful Christmas. It's going to be so much fun with that little bundle of joy!
