Today is Thursday and it is time for
ALPHABE-THURSDAY at
Our Letter this week is
N
I have been thinking about what to post about for the letter N this week. Now N is Not a hard letter to me. I had lots of thoughts.
Nuts, Napkins, Nortaki China, Neighbors and so many more but decided on NEVER!
When I left to return home from Texas I loaded my car with all of my wonderful finds (see many previous posts...) and was saying good bye to Mom when I look at my car....
Sam, my Mom's cat was laying on the dashboard of my car
He was just so comfy there...
Oh yes nice place for a nap
THEN I STARTED THE CAR
No, No, NO! Never take me in the Car
NEVER!
So leave already he says...
I would NEVER leave my Mom
Sigh...so he stays and I go
I stopped at the Visitors Center In Louisiana
Potty Break....But NO! Bathrooms are closed due to a broken water main....sigh....well the lake is pretty I will take a photo
A this is a NO I can handle just fine thank you
So my next stop is this really cute place I saw on my way to Houston. It's called Breaux Bridge, Louisiana
Crawfish Capital of the World! Really that is what they say!
You drive across this cool bridge and then there is this little main street
Lots of very cute antique shops
A little Fleur De Lis for you French Loving Gals
More Antique Malls
Cool rustic junk
Old Silver and Pepsi-Cola cooler
This store had some of my favorite items
Neat pelican
I thought this rusty little truck was cute
I took this photo of me in a gazing ball...
I would recommend this cute little town for a fun day trip or even an overnight stay at a Bed & Breakfast...
BUT....
NEVER ever stop on a Monday
EVERYTHING WAS CLOSED!
It was like a Ghost Town. Nothing was open.
Everything I have shown you was outside or through a window
I was sooooo disappointed...but maybe next time
It 'might' have been a blessing it was closed so I could not buy this guy! His price tag....Cha Ching! So he wouldn't have come home with me really, but maybe they had a smaller one??? Or at least that cute "I heart Flamingo's" sign.....
But I know where he lives! Le' Napoleon
Maybe next trip
but
NEVER EVER STOP THERE ON A MONDAY!
This was a wacky N post but it works for me!
Always (or should I say Never?)
Linda

oh I heart the pink flamingos! Neat post!
OK...hand over that Pepsi cooler..love it, got to have it!
Funny about the cat, they love to do that don't they?! You find the neatest shops, I would love to spend a day with you...looking! Come say hi :D
You looked like you had a great time. Would love to get you that pink Flamingo. Love, Sandie
We have passed this town a gazillion times (well, at least twice a year for 10 years) on our trips to Florida, but have never stopped. Maybe next time we will! Thanks for the tour, sorry everything was closed. But you're probably right about saving the bank balance :) Kathy
That looks like a really neat place.
I hate that when you go to a place and everything is closed. There's not many places like that but when I used to go to Amish country pretty much everything is closed on Sundays.
Wah! Sorry everything was closed! But a lovely post nevertheless!
That does look like a great little town to visit...the other six days of the week. :)
That was the most eNteraiNiN' "N" I've ever experieNced! My sister and I went to Wimberly on a Monday...NEVER go there either...same N ThiNie! Fun post, Linda! Have a Nice Thursday!
I hope you found a bathroom. I would have been in a panic. Hope you have a great week and can join us next week for Tea Cup Tuesday. It is so much fun and I would love to see your tea cups. Blessings, Martha
What a cute post! Enjoyed it! Looks like a great town! Neat picture of you in the gazing ball!
I would never be brave enough to travel by myself!!
Katherine
sounds like you had a fun drive home. thanks for sharing. :]
Great take on the letter N ... loved your story ... sounds like an interesting ride home!
What a great post! I'd love to have been on that drive, but not on a Monday, as I'd want to go into the shops.
I rather like the large pottery on either side of your friendly flamingo!!
Maybe it was good things were closed. It looks like a tempting place to shop.
What a cute post, and that little town looks wonderful. Too bad you couldn't get into the stores.
Oh what cuteness -- I may have had to camp until Tuesday!
Neat N post. I'm gonna have to arm wrestle you for those flamingos. They are my signature thing...People know I love sunflowers, and flamingos and I have a collection of each of them. My favorite flamingo thing is a flower made from the feathers of a flamingo that a friend of mine brought me from Africa.
love the no swimming sign :D
How sad that you stopped and you couldn't even buy a nacket!
It looks like a wonderful trip!
And I loved your nifty N post!
Super creative and, as always, a wonderful stop on our journey through Alphabe-Thursday's Letter "N"!
A+
I want to go shopping there! Wow!
what great stuff...we are passing through that area this summer...i will make sure it isn't on a monday!
I will take the pepsi cola cooler and a couple flamingos! This looks to be a gem of a little town. I hope I don't end up there on a Monday!LOL
Was there a bathroom for you? Your mom's cat is a cutie!
Fun shops, I'll remember Never on Monday, though!
I enjoyed your N post :) .
Blessings,
Catherine :)
Oh, Linda. That was a great post. I LOVE your Mother's cat. Oh, that photo of him stretched out so comfy on the dashboard, chin up to the sky, is a winner. You should send that in to a cat magazine! Loved the photos. Sincerely, Susan
I lived in Layfeyette for a couple of years and I have been to Beau Bridge...it is a lovely town and I would spend lots of money on cute things that i do not need so I better go on Monday as well!
Hello again Linda. I really dig your post this week. I have been on the same road...probably the same rest stop, and like you would "Never" disobey that swimming sign...Peace and blessings
Sounds like an adventure that would happen to me! (Everything closed!) Love your photos though!
Oh...that all sounds soooo familiar! I own my own little shop in a small town & because most of us work our shops alone & the weekend is our big sales days...we are all closed Mon & Tues too! But window shopping is always fun & you save sooooo much money. lol Thanks for stopping by my blog & leaving such sweet comments friend!!!
Smiles,
Susie
I would have been so disappointed, I love to find neat shop to visit on road trips.
What a Neat post. I love the photos and the creative way you fit N's into your post. Sorry you couldn't visit all of the neat shops. They look like they would have been a lot of fun. Stop by to read mine if you get a chance.
Oh no! Thanks for the warning!
Cute post! Never is a good word to contemplate! I would have had to spend the night in Louisiana just to have a closer look on Tuesday!
The cat picture is so adorable!! Love all the antique shops!!!! And the picture of you in the gazing ball is cute!!
I love your rusty pictures! I love the way metal looks when it starts to age! And the No Swimming sign YIKES:) Looks likes a fun road trip...no kitty though:)

What a cute post Linda. Loved your mom's cat all stretched out on the dashboard!
That must have been a very laid back town. You'd never see anything left outside after closing around here! If we could all just go back to those Mayberry days!
Hugs,
Dawn
Ha! What a fun post. Biggest bummer to me would be visiting a store with great shops and none were open.
