A LITTLE SNOW

We had snow in Georgia....not much but enough for me.  The icy roads have been the danger around here.  I was in my warm jammies and did not go out until around noon to take photos (still it was only 19 degrees.....stop laughing you northerners..) so the snow was melting a little from the sun.  I took these few photos just to share with all of you!

This is the view of my side yard...

This is the amount of snow on our back deck...

This is a view of the back yard and the larger red barn

And my favorite photo

Thanks for sharing in my fun snow day photos.....

TOO MANY BARGAINS?

I have been very busy the last week Thrifting and finding many treasures.  I am hoping to show you many of them in the weeks to come.  I am also going to do a product review with dining room furniture.  I will be doing some tablescaping using thrifty finds, new items and bargains!!!  Hope you will stop by next week and check it all out.
Meanwhile, this is what my table looks like right now...
Looking forward to organizing my thrifty finds and reorganizing my dish closet.  So too many bargains?  NEVER!!

So many of the thrifts were having 50% off sales and I just scored!  This is just a portion of the things I bought. Can't wait to share my goodies with you.

See you soon,
Linda

REDNESDAY

I'm joining Sue at It's A Very Cherry World for Rednesday!

I looked around and found that I had not shared my decorated kitchen table with my Red & White theme.  So if you will indulge me for one more Christmas post here it is.

I know this photo is a little dark, but this is my breakfast nook with my small round table
You can also see our RED barn in the backyard

I had a gingerbread house I found at Goodwill for $4 on the table
I used red and white placemats & napkins and snowflake glasses

This sweet little poem in a rolling pin card holder
Christmas tree decorated with Chef Santa's, gingerbread cookie ornaments and country hearts

So I promise, no more Christmas posts after this one.....

Smiles,

Linda

MY WORD FOR 2010--GROWTH

Instead of doing New Year's Resolutions I like to choose a word to describe my hopes for the new year.  This year my word is GROWTH!  2009 was not a great year for me.  Many wonderful things happened but a major change occurred when I lost my job in August.  With unemployment the highest in years and in Georgia higher then the nations average (over 10%) I am faced with finding a new path in my life.  So the word GROWTH is my hope for 2010.

I will keep my mind open to new possibilities and opportunities.  As I start a new decade in my life I will take time to enjoy my family and friends, the things I love and follow my dreams!  The Path may be hard, but I am open to what I will find at the top!

SILVER SUNDAY #1 ~ SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW

I am joining the first Silver Sunday over at Gypsy Fish Journal
Please visit to see all the other lovely Silver everyone is sharing.

I found this first item last week at a thrift store.  It was just a couple of dollars but I thought the design was very intersting.  It has a silver ring bottom.

In this photo you can see how it is divided.  I need to get out my silver polish.

This is a photo of the silverware my parents received as a wedding gift 57 years ago.  My Mother used it on special occasions.  When I married and got my own home and started having the holiday dinners she passed it on to me.  It is a place setting for 8 and is silverplate but I love this very much.  It is Original Rogers Silverplate made by The Internnational Silver Company, but I don't know the name of the pattern.

The design is little flowers and while it is delicate it can go with many styles of china..
The knife handles

One day I will pass this set of silverware on to  one of my daughters

Thanks for visiting and I'll see you next Sunday.

Linda

**Thanks to my friend over at The Lazy Peacock, I was able to confirm the pattern on the silverware is STARLIGHT made in 1950!  Thank you for helping me out with this!!!
