VINTAGE FINDS

I have found the thrifts pretty slim pickins lately...what they do have is often over priced...these are a couple of my vintage favorites!

You know my love of Pyrex
I found this Colonial Mist 1 Qt Casserole
No lid,  and a few nicks in the blue,  for $1.50 I felt like I had to save it!

I love Fridgies and this small Butterfly Gold was only 95 cents....that made my day

I also found this cute individual creamer
Made by Hall and only 35 cents!

JUNKIN FINDS FRIDAY #5

Who can believe it's December already?  I know we have all been busy but I hope you have still had time to hunt those fun thrifty bargains because it's Junkin Finds Friday #5!

I have found some great stuff, lots of which I can't share since they are Christmas gifts!  Yes I thrift gifts! My family and friends completely get it!  So here are a few things from a recent stop at the thrifts!
I found this awesome Pyrex Refrigerator dish.  The pattern is called Old Orchard.  It was $2.50 and is in really good condition.

Mr ALC and I love old timers and have a small collection.  On a recent thrifting adventure we found the red tomato timer for 50 cents and the old Sunbeam timer was $1
I love spoon rests and this one is so 80's
Love the mushroom design!  I think this will be going to my Etsy shop... Antiqgirl!

Of course we have to have some Christmas stuff!
I fell in love with the Santa doorstop!  I thought of my friend Becky Povich because Santa is holding a book.  Becky is a writer and collects characters reading books.  Becky if this didn't weigh a TON it would be on it's way to you.  Instead it will live here and I will think of you when I look at it!

This next find really made me happy
Oh yes a little Christmas deer!  He is tooooo cute!
Made of plastic I think he might have been a cake decoration!  He was 10 cents!  He has found a home in my cubbies so you will be seeing him again!

That's my finds for this week!

I hope you will join in the party!  You know the deal...link your post not your blog, link back to this post so others can join in and most important...show us your thrifty finds!

Happy Junkin,
Linda

PYREX ADDITIONS TO MY ADDICITON!

Yes it's true...I'm a Pyrex addict.  I'm in a 12 step program as we speak but yes I do love my Pyrex!  Recently I had lunch with some of my favorite Atlanta blogging friends.  We celebrated Sues (Rue Mouffetard) birthday...let's just say Sue is now my age!  Welcome to the club!  After a fun lunch, presents and more desserts then we could eat (really that's true and who would have thought that) we went to this great Antique Mall.   Along for the fun was Sandie from Chatty Crone and our wonderful friend Denise who does not blog but should!   Now I love Antique Malls and looking but unless it's a great price I don't usually buy...but look what I got!
This wonderful 1~1/2 qt beauty
No lid but for $4.50 I grabbed it
So far I have not been able to identify this pattern

This next piece of Pyrex has led a rough life
Scratches, discoloration and less then stellar cleaning
It needed a good home and for $1.50 it found one
Cleaned up and happy now, I will use this piece for sure.

Tomorrow we are going to visit my brother and sis-in-law
I can't wait to see them.  They live about 1 hour from Mom.
I am missing MR ALC and Charlie but have

THRIFTING WITH A FRIEND!

Thursday I was able to meet my friend Sandie from Chatty Crone for some much 'needed' thrifting!  We met at the Goodwill to start our day.  I found several things including a gift for a friends Birthday(no photos here she will have to wait).  I picked up a book for my Mom, some napkins in yellow and orange that I hope will work with a Halloween tablescape and some pink place mats also for a tablescape.  My favorite find was this!
What is it??  JAJ which is Pyrex made in England
This pattern is Chelsea made in 1968
The size is 509 I think it is charming and my first JAJ piece of Pyrex...thanks to my friends on the Pyrex Collective for all the great info they share or I would not have know to buy this cute piece of Pyrex!

Sandie and I hit a few other thrifts and I found some other fun items you will be seeing in the future.  At one thrift (and I don't know it's name) I found this awesome fall decoration!
This great beaded candle holder was only $2
It will be used in some fall vignettes for sure!

We had lunch and some good girlfriend time.  It was a great day.

Earlier in the week I stopped at another thrift near my home and found these cute items
I set this up on one of those orange napkins I got and it looks cute
I already had the pumpkin from last year
This metal cat is a tea light holder.  I can't wait to light it up!
This little bucket with BOO on it makes me smile
It is October so time to put out some Halloween decorations

This is not new but one of my favorite Halloween decorations
This witch makes me smile!
Wanted to bring her out for October!

WHOO HOOO PYREX!

It seems like a long time since I have found some Pyrex thrifting.

I stopped into Goodwill the other day and what did I find??? PYREX!

My heart actually skipped a beat when I saw this
1-1/2 Qt casserole in the Verde pattern!
Cost under $4

So I stopped by this other little thrift where I 'sometimes' find stuff and sitting in amongst the junk was
A white 401 mixing bowl I believe the all white is called Opal
Cost $1
(lighting was poor on this photo, sorry)

I also found some other cute things last week
 A sunflower teabag/teaspoon holder

Cheese dome and wooden plate
Should I paint the wood white and shabby it up some??
Last Monday I went junkin with some Bloggy friends and we met at The Classy Flea where I found these two items on sale
I love the aluminum and in bright green!!

I am linking up with Debbiedoo's
Visit Debbie to see what others have found on their thrifty adventures this week!

I have been experimenting with staging my photos and trying to get better shots for my Etsy shop.  I would love any 'feedback' on what you think of these practice shots.

Linda

SOME THRIFTY TREASURES FOR TUESDAY

I have a few thrifty finds that I haven't shown you yet, so here they are!

I found this Blue Ridge Pottery plate at the thrift
It has a chip, but for 35 cents it will look cute on someone's wall
Who doesn't love Pyrex?
These two bowls were at the thrift and since it was
Sr Day I got 30% off!!
Love this pattern, Spring Blossom

I have long wished for a piece of
Pink Milk Glass....finally found one I could afford
Pink Milk Glass is hard to photograph and get the gorgeous soft pink color.  This piece was in a thrift for $2
Check out this pattern
Lots of staining on the inside of this piece
I did some research and found this information

During the 1950s Jeannette introduced Cameo Glassware consisting of “exquisite traditional styling in gleaming milk white,” according to a catalog page published in the Collector’s Encyclopedia of Milk Glass by Bill and Betty Newbound. Competing with many other companies, their bowls, compotes and covered dishes looked similar to those made by Westmoreland and Fenton although Jeanette’s milk glass wares were nowhere near as plentiful in terms of the quantity produced.
Jeanette’s most popular milk glass with collectors is the company’s Shell Pink line. Made in the late 1950s for a short time, this line incorporated many different patterns and mold shapes in pale pink milk glass. While Fenton, Fostoria and Cambridge also had their versions of pink opaque glass, Jeanette’s Shell Pink comes to mind most often when collectors refer to mid-century milk glass with a rose tint.  This is a candy jar missing it's lid but still gorgeous!

I am very happy to have this piece
I am joining in two fun parties today
