HI MY NAME IS LINDA AND I'M A PLATE ADDICT

It is sad but true....I am a plate addict!
I've had this addiction for many years but it has really grown since I started blogging.  Why you ask?  well...there is Tablescaping and of course since my plates are mostly thrift finds there are parties each week where I can share them.  I know I'm not alone...I've seen those closets and storage rooms with stacks of plates (dish heaven!)
STILL with the economy the way it is I have cut down over all on my thrifting and have been really trying to avoid buying more dishes...but sometimes a girl just has to do what she has to do!

Here are the plates I have bought in the last couple of weeks
It started off very innocently....this little Corelle plate was only 10 cents and I already have a few so it made sense to add this for such a great price

Then this adorable Christmas plate was found at the thrift for 99 cents and it's just so darn cute and it's almost Christmas so this too seemed like a good purchase

Look at these beautiful lunch plates, perfect for layering for Thanksgiving, only two plates and 80 cents each.
These were a must buy...you agree right??

There were three of these cute black and white plates....I don't need them I know but look how cute and I see a wonderful future tablescape, and they were half price so for $1.50 these jumped into my cart!  If you had seen them first you would have picked them up right??

Now look at these sweet white J & G Meakin bread plates...they will look so cute with those black and white plates...1/2 price day and so only 24 cents each...I mean really!

Now we come to the real indulgence...no two ways about it these next two plates were an extravagance!
But look!
Is this not gorgeous?  A beautiful Blue Ridge plate and in pretty great condition and there was this
another amazing Blue Ridge Pottery plate
They were $3 each but the money was for a Dog Rescue Charity and well...I had too!!!

Sigh, I would tell you I won't be buying more plates but we all know that is not the truth and I just can't lie to you anyway!
So yes, My name is Linda and I'm a plate addict!

TWEET TWEET HERE, TWEET TWEET THERE

It has been a beautiful Spring here in Georgia.  Our yard has bloomed and the birds have been visiting.  We even have a nest of Hawks high up in a tree in the wooded area behind our house.  We have been trying to spy on them as they hatch and grow!  So much fun!  In keeping with the bird theme I re-did my cubbies and collected my bird collection from around the house.  Hmmmm...larger then I remembered...oh well hope you enjoy!

That is a lot of birdies!
All these birds were thrifted or bought on clearance
All of these were thrifted except the lovely Fenton Glass bird I won in a giveaway from Vintage Christine
Some of these are orphan S&P shakers so they are a double collectible for me
This vignette was created from clearance items bought at Michael's
The tray is Couroc Giftware from Monterey, CA found in a thrift shop.  The other bird decorations are from Hobby Lobby on clearance.
The yellow bird is from Michael's and the other items were thrifted
(remember the Blue Bird of Happiness?  It helped me announce that my daughter was having a baby)
I am very happy with the cubbie display

These birds are scattered around the deck garden
The Red and Blue metal birds were clearance from
Dollar General last fall
This was a Birthday present last year
I try to keep some water in it for the birds on these hot days
Dollar Tree bird

Hope you enjoyed the birdies....

FLAMINGO, PYREX AND MORE

I did not go to any thrifts or yardsales this past weekend.  I am trying to work on my 'organization' before buying much more.  It is going well but slowly.  I did drop into a thrift shop last week after dropping items off....don't we all do that?  I found a few cuties to share!

A flamingo souvenir bell for my collection .40

I love this mug for fall .40

These little glass bowls were so cute and yes only .40 each

I could not resist this little girl
Not sure what I will do with her
Look at that face....so for .60 she is mine

Pyrex that was killed....death by dishwasher...look at it...so sad!
Would you have bought this little fridgie?

I must admit I almost didn't but for the 'magic' price of .40 I knew it needed a home so I saved it

A little magic eraser and it looks better but still a poor abused piece of Pyrex.  If you have colored Pyrex please wash by hand!  No Dishwashers!  Ever!

I am going to see my Grandson later in the week.  He will be one month old on Thursday...wow time has flown by.

I'm joining with Linda for her fun party

BLUE BIRD SPRING VIGNETTE

I have a vignette I want to share with you.  Everything is either thrifted or bought on clearance.  I'll do an Easter vignette soon but until then this just makes me feel Springy!

I love the soft blue and whites of this vignette

I put this blue bird from Michael's under the cloche
The blue birds and 'Friends' sign were on clearance at Michaels 70% off
A close up
I used one of my milk glass bud vases and added some sweet little white flowers that are growing wild in my back yard
I love this milk glass plate with a blue and brown pattern
I used two soft blue plates and two 'spring' plates in the plate rack to carry the color up onto the wall
Thank you to all my Friends for helping me with 'baby watch'.  We are still waiting.

I'm joining these fun parties!
