Catching Up!

Once again the month is almost over!
Summer has been a busy time.
Mom bought a new car!
She had been having a bit more difficulty getting in and out of her RAV-4 so we went car shopping.
We decided on this 2017 Toyota Camry!  It is a really nice car and Mom is having a much easier time getting in and out.  So far we like it.
(I drive she rides)

Sara took the kids blueberry picking!

As you can see they had fun!  Tiger helped to make blueberry muffins and cobbler and shared it with us!
Delicious!

If you follow me on IG or FB you saw where I ended up in the hospital ER.  I was having pains that reminded me of last years pancreatitis and so my Dr told me to go to the ER.  I am so glad it wasn't pancreatitis but the Dr said yes it can come back so I need to be more careful of my diet.   I started feeling better after some IV fluids, pain meds and a clear liquid diet for a 24 hours.
THEN... I got a summer cold...picked up I'm sure at the ER.  Ugh!
Finally feeling better this week.
I think my blog has become a diary of my illnesses.  I have always been so healthy and suddenly it seems I catch every cold and virus around.  I've been trying to up my immune system and get healthier before we start another round of flu season!

I've been doing a bit of watercolor painting but not much.  I'm working on a fun challenge of a color a day prompt.  This is one page of my efforts!
I recently bought a tube of Coral watercolor paint, perfect for this first attempt at a Flamingo.  I surprised myself! It even looks like a Flamingo!
I've been downloading photos of flowers as inspiration for my painting. This was my first effort.  Side by side the colors are all wrong (mine looks so blue!) but this was my first try and it was fun.
Edited to add the poppy photo was from my friend Jeanie from The Marmalade Gypsy!

My friend Cheri sent me a Hobby Lobby gift card for my birthday.
I bought this journal 40% off
on sale and used a 40% coupon on a tube of watercolor paint and used up that gift card!
 Thank you Cheri.

Sara and Tiger will be heading back to school soon.  They start so early here.  Scout continues to enjoy her friends at daycare and Blake is working at the YMCA.  We have so much to be thankful for.
During children's time at church!

Annie Belle has survived the trauma of roofers pounding away.  She hid under the couch for hours (poor baby).

As we say goodbye to July I hope you are having a wonderful summer!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Pancreatitis is nothing to fool around with. It is why my dogs are on prescription food. They have both had it a few times and Charlie nearly died. So take heed and be careful. Those kids are growing up so fast!

I am glad the GC came in handy...you are doing so good at your water colors and I hope you never give that up. Feel better soon.

I could never do watercolors. It's too hard to cover up mistakes and I make a lot of mistakes. I love your flamingo. A neighbor of mine that moved away had some beautiful blueberries on a bush in her front yard. Since nobody was living in the house for a while, I picked a few each day to have with my yogurt, but they had so many seeds in them that I couldn't enjoy them. It's almost as if they were sandy inside. I think it was the variety because I don't remember ever having that sensation eating blueberries before. It was weird. lol.

Cute kiddos! Glad you are feeling better. Love your Mom's car, we had a Toyota for awhile for my daughter and she loved it.

Glad you are feeling better, though it's concerning that you've been so sick lately. Please try to take care of yourself physically (healthy eating, drink lots of water, exercise, enough sleep) AND mentally! I know it's hard when you're a caretaker, but you have to take care of yourself first. Love your mom's new Camry - they're fantastic cars. As always, your grandchildren are adorable!

I love your mother's new car - can she drive it? So nice for your friend Cheri to send you something for your birthday unlike me. Sorry. The cherubs are adorable!!! You are catching everything from them. Love your artwork and the flamingo does look like one - stay well!

Wow...what a nice ride! I love the new car. We had the 'new car' conversation this week but couldn't really decide so we put it on hold. Love the grands...ahhhh! They are precious! And I'm very glad you are feeling better. Your system has taken a beating this year. Hope you can relax and rest more. Sweet hugs Sis!

Sweet post Linda, other than you ending up in the ER. So glad it wasn't pancreatitis. Wow your grands are just the cutest and so grown. What happened to those babies? :)

Love your Mom's new car, cool!, and your painting...keep up the good work! I'm ready for the horrible summer heat to be over.

I think you did a pretty good job of my poppy for a first try! And I love the one color challenge. I might have to experiment with that. Loved the photos of the kids and all but very sorry to hear that your summer has been marred with being sick. Hope all that is over by now and you can get back to what you love -- those cute little ones and all that paint!

Lots of fun family times...you have the cutest grandchildren, Linda! I am sure your mom is loving her car! Really makes a difference to be able to get in and out more easily!

I hope you stay well, Linda. I have noticed that I seem to get sick more often than I used to. I guess it is a result of aging. The grands are so adorable and growing so quickly. Love your mom's new car. My mom is still driving, but if we go together I insist on driving. xo Laura

Hope there will be no more ER visits! I know how you feel! Your watercolor work is coming along nicely. It is on my bucket list to try! I turned 65 July 24 so really plan to focus on enjoyment of life. Who knows how many more years I have. Even started dating after being widow for almost 5 yrs.

Oh goodness, I hope that you are feeling so much better. That sounds scary. Congrats on the new car and what cute kids. I almost thought they were sitting at my church...it looks exactly the same! I hope you have a great day!

Your grandchildren are precious and I love the picture of them saying prayers at church! I'm so sorry you have been ill....no fun at all! Glad it wasn't pancreatitis as that is very painful. Diet is everything...I have RA and several other things but have managed to stay fairly healthy except for some minor things. I haven't had the flu or a cold for years now but I am sort of a recluse too! LOL!
Some of those cars are awful to get in and out of. I love my Tahoe for driving and riding and getting in and out of as there are handle bars to grab onto.
I have been thinking about watercolors too with some challenges that friends of mine have been taking. Yours are lovely! I'm going to Hobby Lobby Monday so I need to print off their coupon and see what damage I can do! LOL! Happy August and I pray you heal and stay healthy.

Linda, I hope you are feeling much better. You have had a busy summer. School will be here before we know it and I am not ready to have the grands go back. So much to do! Hope your weekend is great.

You've had a busy month! I'm actually happy to see July go--dryer broke down and 1 week later, the washer; smoke alarm in upstairs bedroom malfunctioned and I had to replace it, security system had problems, AT & T nicked one of our sprinkler pvc pipes and that had to be replaced, and it was so hot and humid that made me rethink what was I thinking moving to the South! Hopefully, August will be better and that you're feeling much better too!
