National Cat Day~~Meet Annie!

It's National Cat Day!
Since losing my sweet Charlie I've been letting my heart heal.
Finally it was time to bring a new furry love into my home.
Tiger and I spent a day checking out a few rescue cats at PetSmart before heading to our local animal shelter.
As Tiger told the ladies there, "we are looking for a calm cat, who likes children and likes to be petted!"
(I love this child)'
After playing with a few cats that just didn't steal my heart, we took this little cutie into the play room!  She loved to be petted and was very affectionate! She kept going up to Tiger's hand for pets and he said, 'Grandma she loves my hand!' We played with her awhile longer, I held her and my heart did a little melty thing.  Tiger looked at me and said, 'I think we found the one Grandma' and so we had.
Meet Annie Belle!
They think she is about 3 years old and was a stray.  I can tell she loves people so she must have had a home at one time.
She has some unusual markings for sure and the prettiest eyes!
We had to submit our application and were told to come back the next day to pick her up.  She was up to date on all her shots, spade, chipped and was well worth the $50 adoption fee.
Tiger and I brought her home and she was happy right from the start!
Loves my bed and has become quite comfortable there!
She is eating well and has those amazing 'laser' eyes in this photo!
She and Mr Toes have gotten to know each other and that is going well.
I can't tell you how happy I am to once again have a kitty to love!

Cotopaxi is an outdoor-wear company based in Salt Lake City, Utah that is focused on giving back and making a positive social impact. They donate a portion of every sale to world poverty initiatives, and their travel backpacks help provide the most relief. To carry on their mission, they raised awareness for local humane societies on National Cat Day.

I hope you will tell your story about how you found the cat(s) in you life today!
Tiger was very happy to help me find a new Kitty and we already are in love with
Miss Annie!

Wishing you JOY,
Linda

Thrifty Finds and A Winner!

I was in one of my favorite thrift stores when some ladies brought in several items they left in the bins by the front door.  I don't usually go through the bins but someone was already looking so I joined in.  This store doesn't price everything first so it's often OK to take something up to the counter and ask a price.  When I saw this...
I did!  It was tied with string but I could tell it has stuff in it.  I paid $3 for it and home it came.  I've never heard of
"Liddle Kiddles" before, but I could tell they were vintage.

Vintage Little Kiddles  - Liddle Kiddles were introduced by Mattel in 1966.  They were tiny dolls, ranging from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 inches tall, with pose-able limbs and rooted hair.

I found lots of information on this website Liddle-Kiddles

Most still have their little story book with them.
This is Howard 'Biff' Boodle
Lola Liddle
Nurse Florence Niddle
(I found her hat but not her apron).
 Greta Griddle & Little Diddle

I don't plan to keep these.  They are in 'loved' condition but if someone is interested in them let me know!
I feel good about my $3 investment!

Thank you all for participating in my giveaway.  Ramsign is so awesome.
The winner is...

Carol at Art and Sand!

I'll send Tezz your email address and she will contact you about getting your Ramsign.  Congrats!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda

Thrifty Friday Finds

I promised to show you what I bought at this diggers antique store called
I saw lots of things I liked but the prices seemed high.  I found two things and one wasn't marked.  When I asked she made me a good price so I realized she would bargain with you.  It was time to move on to our next stop, so these are the only two items I purchased.
Pottery of course!
The white planter was $1 (NapcoWare) and the sweet little turquoise was $3
I have a good size collection of white pottery now and plan to showcase it in my home somewhere soon.
I researched the little turquoise piece and found this out.  Made by Vitreous China, San Antonio, Texas.  I found these listed as Alamo Pottery and made in the late 40's - 50's.  This piece is a small tulip bowl.  The color is really pretty and a great addition to my pottery collection.
If I ever get up that way I will visit that store again and try to bargain more!

We then went to Seneca, SC and found 'thrift shop row'....REALLY!  About 5 or 6 thrift shops on this one street.  And yes I stopped at almost all of them, but really didn't buy much!
This was a fun book,  I only collect S&P Orphans but it's a good reference guide and at $2 I decided to buy it.
I never pass up a good glass container especially if it's .25
My Mom has an ice cream scoop like this one and I love it so this .50 version came home with me.
My best find at the thrifts was this Japanese made flower frog.
I have quite the collection of pottery flower frogs now and plan to do a series on them soon.  Only $2 so a bargain!

What have you found lately?

Come back on Monday for a giveaway!

Wishing you JOY,

Linda
