What's Up Wednesday

It is 1pm and I'm still in my robe and slippers drinking my 2nd cup of coffee.  It's been that kind of day (week, month), so allow me to whine..(and I don't mean the good kind with a corkscrew and glass).
If you follow my blog you know that I hurt my back the end of October.  It really has put me out of commission.  Lots of rest and heating pad time.  So it's finally getting better and the pain migrates to my bad knee (hey I'm 65 I have a bad knee).  More heating pad time and FINALLY my body is doing better.  Maybe I can get out of this house for a bit.  So out I go and do a few errands.  Next thing I know I have a scratchy throat that has now turned into a full blown case of cough, hoarseness and fatigue.  I can't seem to feel better and darn it I'm tired of feeling icky!
OK, Whine over...back to our regularly scheduled blog time...
This is all the Fall decor I have out.  I got it out in October before hurting my back and this is where I'm still at.  No pumpkins or my cute Publix Pilgrims.  This will just have to do!
I'm not even sure of our Thanksgiving plans right now but there will be turkey!!

So the good things are as follows:
Scout turned 7 mos old!
Got a cute winter hat
and met Santa for the first time and looked terrified!
(she was really

Tiger helps keep Scout from going where she shouldn't
Saw a Nascar Race at Talladega with his Dad
Camped and Explored at Bald Rock, AL
Went to the family farm in So Ga
and enjoyed some time quiet time
and also saw Santa but wasn't terrified at the squint eyes on both of them!  Oh and broken candy cane...

So if you are still with me through the whine and the  pics of the Grands, I have a question.

I found this at a thrift store and was intrigued and bought it for .50  I thought it might be an egg cup of some sort, but can't find anything like it on the web.

What do you think?
These are the markings and they haven't helped me one bit.  I'm just curious, so if anyone knows will you please leave a comment!

I can't end this post without mentioning how sad I am about the events in Paris last week.  You know Paris has a special place in my heart and the terror there and all over the world is such a horrible and heartbreaking thing.  I pray not only for Paris but for all of us.

Wishing you JOY,

I think that dish may be for chips of some type and dip.

That is right - I am sad about Paris too.
I am also sad you have been so sick and hurting - that is no fun friend.
Your grandchildren are just beautiful.
SO cute seeing them with Santa.

Hope you feel better.

Hi Linda. Sorry you are under the weather. That is never good. Hope you get better soon! The grands make it better, I would think. They are SO DARLING. And Paris as well as our world....enough to make a person cry. Take care. Susan

Sorry about your physical challenges. I KNOW from experience--they're NOT fun!
Great photos of the grandchildren...and yes, how sad about Paris. I have NO idea what that little dish is meant for. I'm curious, too. Let us know what you find out.

Hi Linda! I'm standing with you about Paris. So terrible. I'm so sorry to hear you're coming down with crud and your poor little back and your poor little knee! Please take care of yourself. I know you're tired of everything you've been going through, but take it easy. Now little Rosemary is so pretty and I think she's looking more and more like Tiger! He's a doll! I love your little dish and I don't have a clue what it is but it's cute!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Sorry to hear you are still feeling bad my have to get better for our luncheon in Dec. Those grand babies of yours are so adorable...I bet you can't get enough of them. They need to stop growing up so us gammas can enjoy this time a bit longer, right? I am jealous that you are able to see yours often.

Hope you are feeling better...maybe this means you are done being sick for the winter, one way to look at it.
No clue what your little dish is.
The grands are so cute and growing like weeds...I am assuming everyone is using Rosemary's middle name as what she will be answering to?
Get better, my friend!

I sure hope you start feeling better soon, Linda. Back problems are bad enough without a nasty cold on top of it. It's always such a treat to see new pictures of your little sweeties!

Sorry you're feeling bad. I know all about back pain. My yoga stretching is the only thing that helps me, taught to me by a doctor in 1997.

Hi Linda ... you have a right to whine ... pain in the back and knee is NOT fun. Hope you don't have the flu and can get to feeling better soon. Your grand kids are so precious. Take care.

Sorry to hear you are not well, Linda. You still take time to drop by with nice comments and I appreciate that. How sweet your grands are. I love the pic of Tiger at the fire-place. I have no idea what that cute dish is for. Unique, though. Hope the back and knee are feeling better tonight. Both can really put you out of commission. Hugs, Deb

I think your dish is a child's dish and might have had a cup for the bowl shaped area. Just my take on it.

Tiger is getting so big and quite the big brother. I love your dishes and can't believe the year has gone by without us getting together...that one is still on my list. The events in Paris makes me even more aware that we need to take time to be thankful of our family and friends. I so thankful for your friendship, XOXO

Oh Linda...I am so sorry to hear you are not feeling well. I will be praying that this illness will leave you soon. I know you are ready to feel good again! I can hardly believe Miss Scout is 7 months old! Where does the time go? She is so sweet and that Tiger is really looking like a big boy these days...:) That little dish is so cute. I did a few searches too and turned up nothing! Hopefully someone will know something about it. You may be able to contact the company via the website and send them a picture to help identify it. Have a great Friday!

Hugs and Prayers, Vicky

Oh I am sorry to hear you haven't been feeling well...seems like it's been one of those autumns for a lot of us. Hope you start to feel better soon...your adorable grandchildren should bring a smile to your face! xoxo

I am so sorry that you hurt your back and that you're still in pain. I can totally relate - it's happened to me before, too. You may have even herniated some disks in your lower back. If the pain is radiating/shooting down to your knee, it's sciatica. In any case, you need some permanent relief...perhaps a chiropractor, acupuncturist, or physical therapist. Acupuncture and now yoga have been the greatest help for me with keeping back pain away and strengthening muscles. But, of course, don't do any kind of exercises (except gentle stretches and walking) until you are healed and you have a doctor's OK. How awful that you also have the creeping crud on top of this back pain!
Loved seeing the newest pics of your grandchildren - I just can't believe how quickly they're growing.
Have no idea what that egg cup-bowl piece is. I googled all the names on the bottom of the dish and came up with nothing! The mystery continues. Let us know if you find out!

The first two people I thought about when I heard the Paris news were you and one of my cousins who loves the city almost as much as you do. It's just tragic. I'm behind on comments (and blogging--yikes!!) so I hope you are feeling better by now. We're entering into the season of aches and pains and sniffles. Keith has a cold, but is starting to get over it. I've been trying not to get it. I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving. We leave for Arkansas next week. So much to do!!!!

Why is it when we're already sick, and our immune systems are weak, we get knocked down again! So unfair, sorry to hear you've been double whammied. Such cute grands! Love your sweet dish but am no help. Yes, the news is especially heartbreaking lately.

Thanks for the reminder, I haven't put my Publix pilgrims out either, lol.

Rest as much as you can Linda!

I am sure Charlie is a big help. as for the egg cup, I can tell you that Maioliche pottery is made in Italy since 1650 but not more. Take care!

I hope by now you are feeling a bit better. I wrapp up with the heating pad each night for my shoulder and legs to stop hurting. Love the sweet little dish. I have been away for a couple of weeks because the horror of the world was crushing for my soul. I have adjusted my attitude.

Tiger and Scout are so adorable with Santa.
